AQWorlds Patch Notes

Check the list of bug fixes to see what the team has addressed

Reens, Cemaros and the AQW Bug Hunter team are busy squashing the bugs you submit each week to the Bug Tracker at www.Artix.com/bugs.

Please do not send non-release bugs on Twitter.  They will get lost.  Make sure you send bug report forms!

Check back weekly to see if the bug you reported has been addressed.  Please remember that not all bugs are "easy fixes" so some reported and confirmed bugs from each week may not be on the fixed list as they will require more time or a different person to fix them.

If you would like to know how the reports go from you to fixed, check this page:
http://www.aq.com/lore/guides/BugReportFAQ

Bug Fixes:

  1. Imp in old city part of Mobius now attackable.
  2. Mitsubishi’s AC Shop is back in business.

Art Fixes:

  1. Winters Dark Solstice Female top and bottom are now aligned, and arm has been fixed.
  2. An entire zoo of pets moved off many legs!
  •     Chaos Lord Healer / Warrior / Mage / Rogue
  •     Voltaire's Baby Black Unicorn Pet
  •     Bright Dragon Battle Pet
  •     Shadow Dragon Pet
  •     Cursed Platinum Monkey
  •     ALL the Paragon Pets

Not Fixed & Why:

  1. Fearfeast is a Harvest map, not a Mogloween one.

Extras!

Eternal Skull Pirate Helm & Skelly Things In General.

So we’re back on Non Standard Armours and Set Pieces again.  Skeleton heads in general do not cover the player head.  In order to get them to cover, we need to either upsize the head or put blackout pieces behind the head.  The Ghostly Naval Commander is an example of an oversized head.  This is why the chin sticks out from behind helms that were not specifically crafted for  it.  The Eternal Skull Pirate Helm uses the blackout piece so that it did not have to be made huge, and will fit on standard sized armours.

Ghost Ears!

Armours themselves do not come with ears.  This is so that your ear, or an ear that is supposed to be on a hat will not interfere with the look.  This can cause some fun though, when you have an armour like Invisible Ninja or any of the Symbiote armours.  We can’t remove the ear because it isn’t on the armour, it’s on your head. If you need to get rid of one of these ghosty ears, you will need to change your hairstyle/head to the style “Blank” in Yulgar’s change room.

http://www.aq.com/lore/guides/BugReportFAQ

Bug Fixes:

  1. September Seasonal Shop items are now tagged Seasonal instead of Rare.
  2. Akiba and Yokai River maps have now stopped celebrating the Star Festival.
  3. “Interruption” cutscene in /manor had a few minor fixes: weapon not loading and some CC issues.
  4. Golden Commander’s Back Cutlass (sword) renamed to Golden Commander’s Cutlass.

Art Fixes:

  1. Meta Sneevil moved back out ya bidness.
  2. Dragonkoiz exit arrow is now in shiny silver instead of glorious gold.

Not Fixed & Why:

  1. Ghostly Naval Commander chin sticking out below other helms.  See Non-Standard Set Items please.  Skeletal things do this as a way to cover the actual head.
  2. Mace of the Blessed Inquisitor not having glowy bits is intentional. It’s the Blessed Inquisitor’s power which makes the glow. The Hero does not have that power.
  3. Not all items in a release are going to be AC tagged.  This is not a bug when they are not.

Extras:

Hey Folks!  Once again, we are still getting a royal ton of reports which are all solvable by clearing your cache.  There has even been a reminder put on the Bug Tracker report page to clear your cache.  We're really serious when we say we can't fix this for you.  This is something only you can do.

So please, CLEAR YOUR CACHE before reporting a bug.

Bug Fixes:

  1. Ada's Light Scythe, Legion Skull Mace and Mask of Laken are now officially rare.
  2. Guncraft Commander’s Tricorn added to the Pirate Collection 2018 shop.
  3. Spirit Enntropy Pet and Enntropy Pet names and descriptions fixed.
  4. Explorer Naval seasonal hats returned to Quibble’s shop.
  5. Items in Quibble missing descriptions have now been described.

  2. Fantasy Bard female broken arm has been realigned.
  3. Voltaire’s Baby Black Unicorn Pet has been taught to heel.
  4. Undead Warrior Judge glow on belt skull removed to match the rest of the skulls.
  5. Necromancer & variants have had the ears chopped off.  RIGHT OFF!
  6. More places where Gravelyn was flirting have now been deemed “no flirting” zones.
  7. Paladin Helms in Doompally cutscenes colour fixed. We took their trainee helms away.

Not Fixed & Why:

  1. Vampire Naval Commander being “fatter” is exactly the  way Lae intended it to be.
  2. Vampire Naval Commander weird highlight effect when clicked on is because of the transforming bits.

Extras!

It’s that time again.  We are getting a LOT of reports on two very basic issues which are not bugs.

The first is “my class won’t rank up”.  This is not a bug.  This is a case of you need to hit things that are big enough to give you class points.  Right now, class points are awarded on a descending scale based on your level vs monster level.  If the monster is your level, or higher, you get full points. If the monster is a lower level than you, each level it is lower than you deducts 5% of the points it can award.  This means that once a monster is 20 levels smaller than you, it no longer awards class points.  Please watch the monsters you are fighting!

The next is all the various things that are caused by not clearing  your cache.  For a list of the most common things that happen when you need to clear your cache, you can refer back to these Design Notes.

So please!  Always Clear Your Cache before sending a bug report.  This is not a game issue. It’s a browser thing.  We can’t fix your browser.  YOU CAN!

  3. Hashi Hime’s “Return to Akiba” button now returns you to Akiba.
  4. Cutscene #3 “Teleporting Town” replay button now plays.

  2. Ulric has been trained to heel.
  3. Ambassador Cape and Cape of Guiding no longer turn sideways when you move.
  4. Seraphic Commander has been Van Gogh’d.  (ear on base model removed)

Not Fixed & Why:

Just A Reminder! When you send art reports, this is not a guarantee that things will change.  Unless something is very obviously broken, it falls into the category of an opinion.  When possible, the original artist is consulted and their opinion is the final opinion.

You can also read more about this on these Design Notes.

  1. Serenity in /yulgar and Cinazool in /ontherun have had the buttons with the dead links removed from their apops.
  2. Cutscene “I Will Do My Best” had a bit of animation lag.  De-lagged. Un-lagged?  Fixed!
  3. Some apop changes on Prime Dominus to help with returning to Final and Prime for farming purposes.

Art Fixes:

  1. Arrow in /pirates that leads to /fotia or /frozenfotia changed to silver to indicate map change instead of room change.

Not Fixed & Why:

Referring back to the ProtoParagon 3017 fix for not holding weapons from last week:
The ProtoParagon 3017 arm not being long enough last week was significantly more involved than just repositioning the armour piece.  The arms (male & female) had to be almost entirely rebuilt.  Due to this, the bit that transformed on the hand were removed.

Art Fixes:

  1. Evolved Paragon Cape skulls now have blue eyes.

Not Fixed & Why:

  1. Horns of the Blood Sworn are placed where the artist wanted them to be.
  2. Dual 6th Betrayal Blade is the size Miltonius sent it as.

Another little thing!
In the Story tab of the map, the Shadowfall rising entry showing like this:

This is because this part of the story actually begins with the quest “Hounds and Infernals and Imps, Oh My!” and ends with “YOU again!”.  The tab display is broken up because of map changes during the story. Once you do finish these quests, the display will fix itself.  Unfortunately, because of this, there really isn’t anything we can do to fix it while you are still in the process of doing the story.

The AQW Wiki has some very helpful pages for assisting with the storylines.

  2. Side Phoenix Blade & Phoenix Blade on Your Back descriptions have been fixed.

  5. The map Desoloth now has the replay button for all 3 Dragonplane cutscenes.
  6. Orochi has made an appearance now and chased Orocheevil out!

Art Fixes:

  1. Tiki Fun amour unusual CC bits removed.
  2. Prismatic SkyGuard Warrior female has found her skirt again.
  3. ArchPaladin Cape has been told to lighten up a bit.
  4. Were-Diver Morph foot fur now CC.

Not Fixed & Why:

No list this week, but we do need to make a general statement on the art of REALLY old items.  When something is super old, like 2008-2009, generally we aren’t going to change the art.  These items were made using a different style, that many players liked and still like.  So they will remain as they are now.  They will only be fixed if it is something that is actually broke, like pieces of the model not connected.

Art Fixes:

  1. Armor of War and Golden Armor of War now have skelly face.
  2. Herald of Stalagbite female skin is now CC.

Not Fixed & Why:

  1. Vampire Armor/Class males having different eye scleras. The Vampire Class is a male only morph, so the eyes could be recoloured.  The Armor is not a morph so needs to use standard eye colours.
  2. Shadow Blade Shinobi Hair shading.  Hair can come in 3 “tones” or “shades”, dark, light or none.  Helm shading is artist opinion.

  2. Royal Romance Garb male foot/leg connection.  This is the way it was made.
  3. Keytar is not actually upside down. Facing left, you can read the name Soland in it. This is how it was intended to be.

Patch Notes Extras! - Screenshots!

Screenshots 101
It’s said a picture is worth a thousand words.  This is usually true.  But are those a thousand good words, or swear words is the question.  So today, let’s go over how to give the best possible screenshots for your bug reports!

The first thing we need you to know is we aren’t going to hack your computer to look at your screenshots. If the “link” you send us begins with C:\\ or file:\\, this is not a URL we can look at, it is the file location on your computer.  Once you have taken your screenshot, we need you to upload the picture to a public hosting site so we can see it.

What do we mean by public hosting site?  A website where the picture can be viewed without requiring us to download anything, or to have an account.  We highly recommend Imgur and LightShot.

What other sites can you use?  A lot of people like to use Twitter and Facebook.  Both of these platforms have what can be serious drawbacks.  Twitter pics tend to be too small to be able to see fine details on.  And too many times, Facebook pics are behind a lock and we cannot see them.  If you do plan to use either of these, please try to get a good quality shot and set it for public viewing.

What makes a good quality shot?  First of all, don’t crop it so tight we cannot tell what it was supposed to be of.  It’s best if you just go ahead and screenshot the entire screen, and use circles or arrows or even stickers to point to the spot you want us to look at.  This is especially true when you are reporting about things on a map.  Too tightly cropped and we can’t tell what room you are in.

Can you recommend a really good screenshot tool?  Absolutely.  My personal favourite is ShareX. You can get it here:  https://getsharex.com/
ShareX allows you to take the screenshot, edit it and upload all in one easy to use window. It’s free, customizable and can be set to upload to a variety of sites.

Another really good tool is LightShot.
You can get it here:  https://app.prntscr.com/en/index.html
LightShot is easy to use and allows you to edit and upload directly to prntscr.com.

    • Scarf cutting into shoulder - is because of how layering works
    • The beads floating - this is why there are two variants of the helm.
    • The facial hair is the way the artist sent it, so it was intentional.
  2. World Sealer glows are intentional.
