Travel Portals + Light Rewards

New House System Functionality + Boss Rewards

Put all those STR stat points to good use, because it's BUILD WEEKEND in AQWorlds! You can finally build travel portals in your house — warp across Lore, skip locked maps, and dive into seasonal events (Frostval, Mogloween, and more) like you’ve got a time machine. And when you need a break from house building, gear up to take down MechaVortrix in TechFortress for the Light BattleMage gear. 

Could you just type the /join command to go these maps? Sure. You can always to do that. But portals let you go to the exact map and room you want to visit... AND right from your /house. They're a great way to make your house more functional and act as a personal adventure hub!

House Portals

House portals are functional furniture that can teleport you to various maps around the game, including to specific rooms in maps! They can be found in /basecamp, after a short questline. Portals are only usable by the owner of the house, but are still furniture for everyone to see. House portals cannot be sold once purchased.

• Merged Portals are convenient shortcuts to common content or farming spots.
• Discovery + AC Portals take you to social spots and other places to inspire your next adventure.
  
• Event Portals let you access holiday and special event zones any time of the year.

Types of Portals

Merged Portals 

• Convenient shortcuts to common content or farming spots
• Most take you directly to your questgivers, farming areas, and spots you want to go so you don’t have to walk
• Often cost gold and a few reagents

Discovery + AC Portals

• Take you to events, social spots, and other places to inspire your next adventure
• Can be directly purchased for gold or AdventureCoins (depending on the Portal)

Event Portals 

• Let you access holiday and special event zones any time of the year
  
• Cost AdventureCoins 
• Permanently unlock holiday and event maps (and all of their loot!) for you to enjoy year-round!

Notes

What about Dage + Nulgath? We plan to release separate portals to Dage in /underworld and Nulgath as merged portals in the future

Friday the 13th Portal? The seasonal Friday the 13th maps are member-only all year long, but are open for free players the week before and after each event. The event portal will let you /join all the event maps at any time of year, no membership needed. 

Why Yulgar's Inn? This portal is 100% for completionists... and because Yulgar doesn't have a Ko-fi account or tip jar.

Owner-only? Sadface! I know, right?! We're currently looking at whether it would be possible to let your guild members use your House Portals, but that's still a work in progress. We'd like to do it, and we know many of you want that, too. We'll keep you posted on whether it will be possible in the future.

Dark vs Light TechFortress Battle

Need a break from house building in Basecape? Then gear up, because the TechnoLich Vortrix is waiting — and he is NOT messing around. This cyber-zombie boss is a fusion of magic and machine, and he's guarding the BattleMage of Light gear in the /TechFortress map. Guild Spotlight: Idle Hours

Adventurers Reunited & Legends Rekindled

Somewhere between a Yulgar hangout and a nostalgia-fueled family reunion you’ll find the heart of Idle Hours. This is a tight-knit guild where the bonds between players are as enduring as the memories they share! Founded in November 2022 by Guild Leader SilentSav, Idle Hours has grown into a thriving community of over 325 members, where everyone is welcomed with open arms and a warm invitation to stay awhile.

“Idle Hours is my pride and joy, and I strive to share it with all who'll listen to this old wizard's ravings,” says SilentSav, whose deep love for AQW is the cornerstone of the guild’s spirit.

For SilentSav, it all began with a return to a childhood classic.

“After returning to AQW, I soon found Guilds had been added as a feature to my childhood game! Excited, I quickly began making good friends, relearning how to play the game, and decided to start my own guild with those friends' help!” 

And so Idle Hours was born: a community built on trust, friendship, and the shared goal of rekindling the magic that brought everyone to Lore in the first place.

A Guild That Grew With Its Members

Originally founded as “O.R.C.,” the guild was rebranded to "Idle Hours” last September, a change that came with maturity ~but~ not the cost of its core beliefs.

“Despite the name change, our mission has remained the same since the beginning: build a community of players who share the same love and passion for the game, and create long-lasting memories with friends gained along the way!” 

Under the leadership of SilentSav and the support of a dedicated team of Officers — Adrian535, Nljh, Mellos, Yujjisol, Kareem, HungryHangry, Strebon, Justice XI, InosentZero, Gistra, and Jabskie — Idle Hours has evolved into something more than just a guild. It’s a second home ~and~ reminder of how far we’ve come, and how much we still have to explore.

Whether you’re chasing life goals, grinding that elusive drop, or simply vibing in Yulgar’s with your favorite set equipped, Idle Hours welcomes players of all kinds. Weekly fashion meetups, late-night farming sessions, and spontaneous chat chaos… you’ll find it all here!

“We wanted to establish an environment allowing everyone to enjoy the game to their heart’s content, express themselves, and feel safe learning and/or returning to AQW!”

Player Housing Spotlight: The House of Moths (and Dragons~!) by Aliesterus

The House of Moths and Mayhem

Step carefully, hero; you’re about to enter one of Lore’s most hauntingly cozy fortresses. From ancient death gods to cuddly critters, this sprawling sanctuary hides danger behind beauty, and fluff behind fangs. This is the House of Moths (and Dragons~!) built by Aliesterus… and, if you're lucky, you’ll make it out with your GPU intact.

First Room: Greeting the Guardians

Wow, what a welcoming committee! The moment you arrive at the House of Moths, you’ll be greeted by two shimmering dragons, their scales sparkling like a cosmic disco. But in order to enter the ~real~ party, you’ll need to make it past the bulking bouncers, aka giant Zorbak mechs, aka BOGOdrone Prime Guards! Danger and delight await past the threshold, for those brave enough to enter… 

Second Room: Beauty and the Blade

As soon as you make your way inside, you’ll see Leanan Sidhe, an enchanting guardian with deadly motives. But she’s not alone! Flanked by the Shadow of Vengeance, the duo provides enough of a distraction for the Shadowseer to do what Shadowseers do best:

stab you in the back 👀

Your survival at this point depends largely on your intentions (and your ability to not be seduced or backstabbed). No pressure, you got this.

Third: Throne Room Shenanigans

Things don’t calm down in the Throne Room. On the contrary, you’ll find:

• Fa hanging out casually (what are they plotting?!)
• A blacksmith forging experimental weapons of dubious legality
• Dr. Song, casually researching a fusion of Sepulchure x Dage (because why not?)
• Dage and Nulgath, coerced into guard duty
• And oh yeah — Aliesterus yoinked Drago’s throne. #NoRegrets. It’s comfy.

There's even a cobbled-together hologram projector, adding a sci-fi twist to the arcane ambiance.

Fourth: The Portal to Death (and Shiny Things)

What lies beyond the throne is a portal to another realm — a dimension that houses Aliesterus' treasure room. But don’t expect to waltz in and grab a shiny trinket.

Standing guard:

• Death, commander of the Hollowborn Dragon Statues 
• Kasuko, leashed by a terrifyingly chill Merpyre 
• Astravian Guards, now gainfully employed as early-warning systems

If you're foolish enough to steal, Death won’t just eliminate you… he’ll erase your very existence. *gulp*

Fifth: Enter the Dimensional Vault

Inside the vault, you’ll witness treasures — and lag! — beyond your wildest dreams. Should you ~and~ your PC survive, you’ll witness:

• The strongest version of the Dragon of Time, plucked from a suppressed timeline
• Mi, who’s mostly there for the moths and shiny things (humph, I apparently missed that memo)
• More Moths than any lepidopterarium could comfortably home (yup, lepidopterarium is the fancy word of the day!)
• And a surprisingly comfy Ballyhoo, now semi-retired and chilling in style (or just frozen due to lag…)

According to Aliesterus, this room “is locked in a separate dimension where shiny things and items too dangerous to be left unchecked are stored.” So if the guards don’t kick you out, then the lag just might 🤣 

Sixth: Dreams, Darkness, and Fluffiness

Tucked away in the far room is an unfinished bedroom... part private sanctuary, part Darkon Memorial. This room is seasoned with cute critters, from moths to plushies to even… um, the remains of Sepulchure? Perhaps this is an unspoken signal that the more adorable things get, the more lethal the defenses & decorations become?

Fun Fact: The Toaster Fryer 9000

Originally intended to be a humble treasure vault, the House of Moths grew so elaborate it’s earned a new nickname: the Toaster Fryer 9000. Aliesterus says the place lags even the bravest computers into oblivion.

“I just kept adding stuff,” Aliesterus said, “and it eventually started affecting performance. And then I kept going.” HA! Love the crazy commitment, Aliesterus! 

With a self-made hologram system, cross-dimensional vaults, and a defensive lineup that could rival the Queen of Monsters herself, this home isn’t just a palace… it’s a PC performance test 🤣

Have you seen HeroMart’s Coloring Book of Lore? This is more than just a book… it’s a 100+ page ticket to adventure! And to celebrate our first-ever coloring book, we want ~you~ to unleash your colorful creativity and show the world what kind of hue hero you are! 3. Use any medium you desire! We’re talking digital, traditional, watercolor, collage, glitter, macaroni, etc. Creativity counts!

4. Submit your entry on the official Coloring Book of Lore Contest Google Form here. Since we’re gonna get hundreds — perhaps thousands — of entries, we certainly don’t want to accidentally miss yours. 

5. You are absolutely allowed & encouraged to share your creation on socials like the @AE_Contests Twitter & @HeroMart, but note that only entries submitted to the Google Form will be judged. 

6. Optional but totally awesome: record a timelapse of your artistic process!

7. One entry per player, per game. This means if you play DF, AQW, and AQ3D for example, you can enter up to 3 times.

Guild Spotlight: Camelot

Enter Camelot: A Legacy of Loyalty and Laughter

Officially founded in December 2021, the story of Camelot actually begins a year earlier, with a close-knit group of players who met in 2020. Through trials, disbandments, and the passage of time, the original guild leader stepped away, and its members could have drifted apart, too. Instead, two determined heroes — Zaratos and 4sp1n4 — refused to let their friendships fade. Together, they rebuilt Camelot from the ground up, establishing a new guild, launching a Discord server, and calling their old friends back home.

And it worked! Well, obviously, considering this spotlight 🤭

The Camelot guild now stands with 42 members, guided by a loyal leadership team: Guild Leaders Zaratos and 4sp1n4, and Officers notname982, hyourinmaru_br, akari ichijou, and zebub. But ask any member, and they’ll tell you: it’s not the size that matters — it’s the heart!

This cosmic scene is a real blast from the past… and the future! Characters from every corner of the multiverse meet up in this golden hall, chatting and scheming under the watchful glow of a massive infinity gauntlet that’s practically surging with power. The vibe is electric as heroes, villains, and cosmic beings exchange ideas… think of it as a galactic brainstorming sesh with a heaping helping of sparkles!

Villain or hero, we all need our caffeine fix. ScarBucks serves up piping hot peace, where the brew is as bold as the company you keep. This is a rare, safe space where the only thing stronger than espresso is the sense of camaraderie. 🔥 Infernal Lair

Not everything icy is heartless… in fact, Frozen Land is celebrating the birthdays of the Frozen King and Queen! Chill out in this frosty wonderland as guests gather around a towering cake and balloons drift through the cool breeze. Warlic, frozen in a moment of magical brilliance (uh, we hope?), adds the perfect touch to this chilly celebration. The Frozen Land proves that even in the coldest realms, there’s warmth to be found.

⚔️ Battle World 

Talk about a battle that’s out of this world! But this is no ordinary battlefield—it’s a coliseum of cosmic proportions where legends rise and fall. Titans, beasts, royalty, and fairy queens converge in this high-stakes arena to prove their worth in the ultimate test of might. Only the strongest survive in Battle World… and even then, they’ll leave with scars as souvenirs.

☠️ Death Domain

Beyond the final portal lies a realm cloaked in eerie purple glow and chilling silence. The massive white snake Zhenzhu Shé presides over the landscape, judging adventurers from the shadows of mortality. Swirling mists drift throughout the domain, but instead of despair, there’s inspiration. This is a place where the end is only the beginning… where the souls of heroes prove to be more powerful than blades! The Death Domain is both hauntingly beautiful and deeply profound.

This weekend, Queen Victoria dives deep into her hidden history, shining a light on secrets her mother hoped would never be revealed. Battle as Lynaria through a realm still recovering from rebellion, where peace and unity are fragile things. When a desperate enemy threatens to weaponize rumors about the royal daughters' legitimacy, it will be up to you to prevent a coup that could shatter your nation. 
The past isn't just whispering in Swordhaven; it's rising from the grave!

Nix170 (possibly your Discord friend, possibly your next favorite artist) takes us on an emotional trip down memory lane with a sketch of Galanoth that blends raw storytelling and gritty intensity. Inspired by their early days in AQW—when they were just 8 years old, battling Vasalkar with more heart than gear!—this artwork reimagines Galanoth in his early training days, locked in a fierce battle for survival.

“This is a battle to the death until sunrise, against a vicious wyvern terrorizing an innocent village,” says Nix170, but calmly assures that “No moglins were harmed in the making of this sketch!”

From the tension in the pose to the story behind it, this piece is packed with soul—and a slightly charred moglin plushie. This sketch is a nostalgic tribute to every player who grew up fighting for Lore!

May the Fourth Be With You...

This weekend, log in as our May the Fourth celebration begins in... Lore Wars: Attack of the Droids! After GL-24K's failure last year, word quickly spread of the abandoned factory to the darkest corners of the galaxy...including to the dread pirate Captain Bradach Olc. Captain Olc has dispatched his most loyal and trusted crew member, AE-25, to locate and steal the production plans for a rumored long lost droid prototype that he plans to sell to the highest bidder.

In 2021, we brought back the original DarkSide Class skills paired with new art so ALL players can enjoy that gameplay. Talk to Hammer in /murdermoon to to create a cargo-hold's worth of space-gear... including ALL of the items in the DarkSide Class. 

The blue variant of the seasonal DarkSide 2.0 class is available for ALL players. A diabolically-evil red armor set variant will be locked to higher-level heroes. (Original Darkside class not required.)

Why IS May the Fourth a Holiday?

Well... it's not, really. Unless you're a particular breed of nerd. As the Intergalactic Space Wiki (run by wookies, of course) tells us:

"May 4 is considered a holiday by Star Wars fans to celebrate the franchise's films series, books, and culture as well as strict religious rituals.^[3] The date was chosen for the easy pun on the catchphrase "May the Force be with you"—"May the fourth be with you". Even though the holiday was not actually created or declared byLucasfilm many Star Wars fans across the world choose to celebrate the holiday."
