Celebrating the Spirit of Indonesia in Nusantara

This weekend, we return to Nusantara, Lore's land of emerald islands and 1,000 temples. The area and adventures are inspired by the real-life country of Indonesia. Each year, members of our team and larger artist community come together to craft new items and adventures to help honor our Indonesian heroes.

Our newest adventure takes place in the royal city of Wentira, a paradise made of gold and only visible to those who deemed worthy. Demonstrate your worth to Prince Agung Palakka; he needs your aid to expel a corrupted former royal guard turned evil magician. 

Indonesian Celebration Zones:

• Golden City of Wentira: defeat the Kabasaran Waranei and his boar minions in /wentira to help Prince Agung defend his home.
• Demon Queen Battle: defeat the monsters and boss in /rangda to collect the pieces of the Arjuna, Payas Madras, and Gatotkaca sets.
• Batara Kala Battles:  take on Batara Kala to earn Kala Insignias, which can be used to purchase the Kala Helmets and Dalang Sinden armor.* 

Wentiran Merge Shop

Complete the farming quest and slay monsters to ollect Wentiran Seals, Broken Tusks, Gold Nuggets, and Ancient Bones. Keep them to craft:

Same Game, New Client Features

Or I WOULD LIKE TO SAY...

Over the last 2-3 weeks, we've been previewing and soft rolling out the upcoming client update and additions, which includes a long awaited request by many (including myself), monster drop tables in game! Now what went wrong? Find out more in this post!

So, if you've been living under a rock or avoid social media like the plague - I teased our next quality of life feature a while back, Monster drop tables viewable in game. While preparing the next game client to be avilable for another round of public testing, we've also been doing a flashplayer update from fp9 to fp32 which opens up the door to adding more features long term and improvements under the hood. Sounds simple and easy enough, hit flash player update button, bing bang bosh, it's all updated and the monster drop tables are working! We quickly learned that with the addition of monster drops and flash player updates, major core elements of the game had to be rebuilt, recoded, and just wasn't possible to maintain their original elements such as the font engine.

The Good

• Monster Drop list worked! (They won't show any secret rarity items)
• Tonic and Elixir Bugs and changes also worked!
• Party desyncing bugs were taken care
• Font Engine updated (Sorry, certain named individuals)
• Flash Player 32 worked for some users! Performance was also slightly increased

The Bad

• Few People weren't loading when restarting their games
• 99,999,999 gold on User interface (occuring randomly?)
• EXP Bar wasn't calcuating the right amount of EXP for people
• Guilds disappeared for a bit (People were still in them, just couldn't coordinate with their guild members)
• Cutscenes weren't loading properly (Stuck at 99%)
• Map backgrounds broke when smooth background wasn't enabled resulting in graphical glitches

So what's next?

Our current plan is to fix all the bad of course! But in the process, we're also updating how the game loads everything to accommodate the new flash player version with changes so it'll take a bit more time then expected. We plan on doing some more soft roll outs of the newer client with the fixes in the next coming weeks as well.

How do I know I got the newest client when it's available?

You'll be able to know if you received the newest client randomly when you look in your Options Menu and see a version higher than 3.11. Not everyone may receive it during the tests as we've also been taking it down and reverting people's games back to 3.11 before certain issues become widely apparent.

King Dethrix the First used these grounds for a sport far more sinister. And his ravenous pet boars always caught their prey. The nobles he hunted are still here... and they haven't forgotten.

Introducing Class Skins... and Debris Highlord!

Void Highlord Class Variant Now Available

Starting tonight, owners of the Void Highlord class (or the IoDA version) will be able to purchase a Darkon Debris-themed Void Highlord Class Skin... created by Darkon himself!

The biggest difference between the class variants we've done before and a class skin is just how much changes.*

• Class variant: same skills + icons. New armor art.
• Class Skins: entire aesthetic update: new themed animations, icons, and armor set.

How to Unlock the Darkon Debris

If you own either Void Highlord Class, talk to the Void High Lord NPC in /tercessuinotlim. Buy his dark and debris-laden token for 2,000 ACs, then get your battle on to see it in action!

What is a Class Skin?

The biggest difference between the class variants we've done before and a class skin is just how much changes:

• Class variant: same skills + icons. New armor art.
• Class Skins: entire aesthetic update: new themed animations, icons, and armor set.

A good example of this is the Infinity Titan Class, which is essentially new art, animations, and icons built on top of the StoneCrusher Class. (Though skill and aura names won't be changed, for the sake of game balance.)

Future class skins may have different methods or requirements to obtain them; it will depend on the individual Class Skin. For example, Infinity Titan Class is only available with an upgrade pack. Other Class Skins may require the base class in order to obtain them.

Have you explored the Hollowborn Faction yet?

A faction of warriors (or creatures?... or both?!) exists among the shadows of that dark realm. Known only as the Hollowborn, they appear to be lead by man named Lae. We do not know much about him... Yet. If you aren't familiar with them, find Kaselbel in the /shadowrealm and complete her quests to earn Hollowborn Rep and to unlock dark rewards in the merge shop.

Once you find the enigmatic Lae, if you can convince him to talk, he'll tell you of a deep, dark fortress. Travel there and you'll find a series of quests that only the highest leveled heroes should begin. Complete them to unlock the exclusive Hollowborn Paladin armor set.

All Around Lore: The Nobles of Greenguard

Hi, all! This is Cylisse in with a recap lore post and a brand new one!

This time, you'll be choosing from House Cavendish, Bligh, Granville, and a new contender, Reignolds. We're holding an in-game vote where you'll choose one House to be featured in a short Boss-Only release. It'll explore how the chosen House was established, and what the origin of their Crest is.

Last time, House Vaughn won the vote. It lead to Castle Whistler opening its gates, and a duel with the King in the Dark. The winner of this month's vote will decide who's going to be featured in August 7th's release.

Note that the chosen house will get a new small map, a boss monster, and reward items based on their aesthetic and lore!

Hi, all! This is Cylisse with a lore post covering Greenguard Queendom's House Reignolds! This is meant to supplement the original design notes featuring House Vaughn, Cavendish, Bligh, and Granville which you can check out by clicking this link!

Like the other Noble House crests, House Reignolds Datura crest was designed by Lae while the Elysian Knights were designed by Crulon!

House Reignolds

“Skill can make a dead tree sprout, and force a flower to bloom for years.

But no one can return to a Spring that has already passed. Even if you went back in time, you won’t feel the same way you did when you were living in the moment.

Such is the motto of House Reignolds... though the common folk believe it's a cover for an axiom with far more threatening implications."

"This family used to own pockets of land here and there. They weren't in a hurry to win more. House Reignolds focused on entertaining the Noble Court with galas and balls. Petals fell like rain in Dreadhaven's toxic garden, drowning prisoners who were brought out of the dungeons to make the guests laugh. To the Drakath Dynasty's warmongers and battle mages, these Lords were little more than jesters.

During the reign of King Dethrix the first, humble House Reignolds rose to sudden prominence because its Lord defied his own motto.

The flowers in his gardens bloomed in winter, but they were already dead. Lord Reignold’s special brand of necromancy kept them beautiful."

"His King discovered his talents, and gave Reignolds the honor of becoming a Court Mage. 

Though he kissed the ground Dethrix the First walked on, everyone at court knew someone as vain and cowardly as him would despise working in the dungeons. There were even rumors of treasonous intent.

When Lord Reignolds and the rest of the Court Mages were expected to sacifice themselves in some sort of forbidden ritual, he fled for the hills. It didn't take long for Sir Valen and Lady Lynaria to find him curled up under a bush, sobbing like a child.

"When Alden Alteon took the throne, Lord Reignolds begged for mercy and convinced him that the tyrant forced him to fight at his side. His daughter, Marigold, would have been harmed if he refused."

"She's all I have left! My wife passed away during the last famine. If something were to happen to me, poor Marigold would be all alone!" claimed Lord Reignolds. It moved the kind and fatherly King.

"King Alteon graciously allowed him to remain in Greenguard, but further investigation uncovered terrible secrets.

Researching forbidden magic, kidnapping innocent people to experiment on them, and creating that Vessel... Lord Reignolds needed to answer for those crimes."

"Reignolds fled to his old summer home, with King Alteon's men were right on his heels. 

But in a mysterious turn of events, Reignolds was found dead at the very top of his tower. His daughter, Marigold, was waiting to be found in the cellar. No one knows who killed her father.

Though King Alteon took her in as a ward of the royal family, he was forced to keep her at arms distance. Letting her stray into the public eye would invite violence. The people wronged by her father were already embolded by jealous Nobles...

Marigold's childhood was lonely, but she was raised by the servants of Swordhaven. They were kind and patient, understanding that her father persecuted her for being unable to learn as quickly as other noble heirs. The common folk taught her how to study in her own way, and she became aware of their hardships."

"The territory that once belonged to House Reignolds was given to the Granvilles. Lady Marigold was allowed to keep her titles, but the Noble Court treated her harshly. 

Studying magic and agriculture, and using it to feed the common folk won their love, but she's an easy target for the frustrations of the nobility. They believe Marigold's family's history justifies their childish actions. One prank went too far, and injured her severely. The incident almost took Marigold's life, which prompted King Alteon to call upon worthy knights."

"House Reignolds original knights were disbanded for being complicit with their deceased Lord's crimes. 

Iberis, Viola, Valerian, Sumac, and Clover are newly appointed Elysian Knights who protect Lady Marigold. Three are Nobles themselves, but the other two are commoners.

They proudly wear the Datura crest and... come on a little strongly. Iberis enjoys dangling his fellow Noblemen off of balconies by their ankles. It tends to wring out truly heartfelt apologies.

Lady Marigold isn't always seen with them, fearing that she'll become as feared as her father was if Iberis and the others keep unsheathing their blades on her behalf."

"She prefers to live in Spring, and prepare the people for winter and famines. 

"The Datura may be a snow white Nightshade, luring dreamers to their deaths, but Marigolds don't hide secrets. They're flowers that honor the past, and bloom to promise a bright future."

Festival of Victors

ShadowScythe Victory in the Celestial Dungeon?!

As the legends of Temple of the Solstice Moon and the Shrine of the Midnight Sun continue to spread across Lore, an increasing number of challengers arrive to test their skills against their gods. The once-seasonal Festival has become a permanent addition to the realm, celebrating both visitors and Victors.

But the latest challenger to achieve the Eclipse Ascent is well-known among the common folk of the Yokai Isles... as both a member of the Yokai Isles royal family and the ShadowScythe, his victory isn't raising /cheers, but rumors of cheating and fear of invasion.

This weekend, face down the DoomKnight Prince in /VictorMatsuri and remind him that the Yokai Isles are not easy fodder for any royal bent on conquering Empress Miko's land and people.

Conquer the Celestial Dungeons

Are you a Victor? Or have you yet to challenge the Celestial Dungeons? Head to /TempleShrine and form a party to conquer the Shrine of the Midnight Sun, Temple of the Solstice Moon, and the Eclipse Ascent. You won't be able to do it alone...unless you want to make a name for yourself.

Anyone can enter /MidnightSun or /SolsticeMoon, but you'll need the Rite of Ascension to access /EclipseAscent.

This item requires completing:

• the Festival of Victors event in /VictorMatsuri, in addition to both 
• the Midnight Sun dungeon
• the Solstice Moon dungeon

Completing the Festival involves defeating the Victors who successfully conquered the Eclipse Ascent Dungeon solo.* By having you face (and defeat) this difficult boss, proper expectations for the difficulty of the Eclipse Ascent Dungeon will be set.

If you already have the Rite of Ascension item, then this will not affect you. Keeping it still allows access the Eclipse Ascent dungeon.

* This year's new boss not required.
