Our newest Ultra Boss, Gramiel the Graceful arrives. Defeat him (or complete an alternative farming quest) to be one step closer to obtaining the Hollowborn Vindicator Class! 

In keeping with the spirit of the Hollowborn lore, this is the first class in AQWorlds history to have color-customizable class icons AND attack animations!

How to Unlock the Hollowborn Vindicator Class

If you are at least level 80, Hollowborn Vindicator can be unlocked by obtaining four Condensed Grace. Condensed Grace can be only acquired from two weekly quests:

1. Turn in 5 Gramiel Insignias, some Hollow Soul, Vindicator Badge, Grace Orb, Vindicator Crest, and Gramiel's Emblem (and more) for 1 Condensed Grace.
2. Turn in a larger quantity of Hollow Soul, Vindicator Badge, Grace Orb, Vindicator Crest, and Gramiel's Emblem (and more) for 1 Condensed Grace. 

However, you can only do ONE of these quests per week, so it's up to you to decide which one to do. This means the class will take at least 4 weeks to obtain.

Festival of Victors

New Game Update for June 20, 2025

As the legends of Temple of the Solstice Moon and the Shrine of the Midnight Sun spread, challengers have flocked from all over to challenge their gods. A vibrant festival is being held to celebrate these visitors, and the Victors who achieved the Eclipse Ascent. Empress Ai No Miko has invited you to be the guest of honor! Log in now to attend the /VictorMatsuri.

The Summer Solstice is today, which is the perfect occasion for a festival like this! Test the Celestial Dungeons' potential challengers, and measure your might against its Victors! Kitsune, Oni, and even Vampires are raring for a duel, but brace yourselves. The fighters blessed by the Midnight Sun and Soltice Moon have a few surprises up their sleeves.

Celestial Dungeons Update

Are you a Victor? Or have you yet to challenge the Celestial Dungeons?

Head to /TempleShrine and form a party to conquer the Shrine of the Midnight Sun, Temple of the Solstice Moon, and the Eclipse Ascent. You won't be able to do it alone...unless you want to make a name for yourself.

Anyone can enter /MidnightSun or /SolsticeMoon, but you'll need the Rite of Ascension to access /EclipseAscent.

This item will now require completing this weekend's new Festival of Victors event /VictorMatsuri, in addition to both the Midnight Sun and Solstice Moon dungeons. 

Completing the Festival involves defeating a Victor who successfully conquered the Eclipse Ascent Dungeon solo. By having you face (and defeat) this difficult boss, proper expectations for the difficulty of the Eclipse Ascent Dungeon will be set.

If you already have the Rite of Ascension item, then this will not affect you. Keeping it still allows access the Eclipse Ascent dungeon.

Player Housing Spotlight: Chateau Swaggy by Amora

Wedding Surprises Abound!

Last week’s Fanart Spotlight featured the real-life wedding of longtime AQW player Wulff Hunter, complete with a heartfelt musical remake of his childhood band’s song. (Yes, I’m still crying happy tears & toe-tapping to the beat.) And while Wulff and his beloved said “I do,” this week we’re spotlighting someone still waiting for her true love… but who’s already built the wedding venue of her dreams!

Meet Amora, a romantic soul who built her home, Chateau Swaggy, back in 2022 after the AQW Housing Quality-of-Life update. As she puts it:

“I love love, and my house is based on love of course!”

Every room in Chateau Swaggy is dripping with details, warmth, and a sense of storybook whimsy, everything we know ~and~ love about the world of Lore!

🧺 The first room welcomes visitors with a lovely picnic scene, complete with cute critters and fresh flowers.

🎂 The second room is the wedding space itself, filled with a layered cake, colorful presents, and music playing in the background.

🍳 In the third room, Amora brings the cozy vibes with a fully decorated kitchen — because love is best served hot, right?

☕ To the right is the backyard, a peaceful patio set, and coffee for two.

🌹 More room to roam — and snap screenies with the guests, ofc.

🌌 On the roof, lovers (or besties!) can stargaze together beneath the night sky.

🛏️ To the left of the kitchen is a sweet and dreamy bedroom, and just beyond that, a tidy bathroom.

🎤 And tucked away in a cozy entertainment room, there’s karaoke and a hot tub — the perfect way to end any fairytale evening.

“I’m so excited to finally be able to share it!” Amora exclaims, her excitement palpable from the depths of Discord. And I’m so excited to spotlight Amora’s house this week, too!

Whether you’re planning a fantasy wedding of your own or just stopping by for a tour, Chateau Swaggy is the place to be if you believe in love, laughter, and lots of loot.

Waiting to Wed… but the Venue is Here!

Will Amora find true love in Lore? Only time (and perhaps a RNG) will tell. But one thing’s for certain: she already has the venue picked out, the menu prepped, and the playlist queued! Manifest your dreams, heores, and one day they’ll become reality!

Friday the 13th: Noxus vs Grimskull WAR

The undeadliest event ever starts... NOW!

Doomwood is on FIRE this Friday the 13th. Literally! Grimskull and Noxus are rallying their undead armies in /lichwar to prove which of them is Lore's real MVP of Necromancy. You've got a front seat as they go skull-to-skull in a no-holds-barred necromancer showdown! Pick a side, charge into battle, and watch the chaos unfold.

Spoiler: the war doesn't end when the meter hits 100%. Prepare to [REDACTED by the Undeaditor]! With special guest Aurelio Voltaire adding his sinister, snarky style into the mix, this event will be a skeletal slugfest for the ages. It’s WAR, Liches. Get in or get ghosted.

From 12-Year-Old Dreams to Wedding-Day Reality: a Legendary Tune Reborn

The AQWorlds Song by Wulff Hunter and The XGuardian

I know I’ve been saying this for years, but it’s the Tog’s-honest truth: the Artix community never ceases to amaze us! And when we say AQWorlds inspires creativity beyond the browser, we really, truly mean it. Don’t believe me? Just ask Jared Rand, better known as Wulff Hunter in the lands of Lore. At just 12 years old, he started playing AQW and immediately pulled in his sister and cousins to join in on the fun. Gotta admit, I’m totally guilty of such things too 😏 But Wulff Hunter & friends didn’t just play the game… they formed a freakin’ band, “The Ebil Dread Paladins,” and composed the appropriately named “AQWorlds Song.”

It was an ~adorable~ first attempt, and it even got a response from Artix himself! Suffice to say, the song became a cherished — and hilarious — memory, often dusted off and played at Shabbat dinners.

Family is super effective at embarrassing us, huh? 🙈

Fast forward 16 years: Wulff Hunter has become a software engineer, his sister and cousins have grown into their own paths, and The Ebil Dread Paladins seemed like a distant memory. But fate had one more surprise in store! 

At Wulff Hunter’s IRL wedding on May 18th, his best man — The XGuardian, hailed in the real world as Tyler Simmons — gave him the ultimate gift: a fully remastered version of their old song! Tyler had re-recorded all of the music with the band’s original singers, save for Wulff Hunter’s lines, which he managed to extract from the mangled original audio. 

The updated “AQWorlds Song” turned the dance floor into a celebration of childhood memories, loads of laughter, and a heartwarming homage to the game that started it all. Witness the wonderful moment for yourself via their YouTube video:

New Tuesday Update is Live

Yulgar's Adventurer's Board Update + Chaos Drop

Yulgar has been watching you all struggle with getting daily quests. He saw how dusty his quest board was getting, so he put a fresh coat of paint on it and added some daily quests to it from all throughout Lore. Most quests that require farming for resources were added to this. It’s located in the second room to the right in /Yulgar!

What’s the Daily Quest Board?

This is a location in /Yulgar that had a bunch of daily quests from the Chaos Saga on it... until today, when we added even more from around Lore. The quests that were added are ones that players in the community asked for in a recent feedback poll. Adding them decreases the time it takes for players to collect all of the quests, and makes sure new players know they exist.

Why update the Daily Quest Board?

Today's midweek designer has been watching a lot of AQW YouTubers and saw this one video from a content creator named Wahzzers which really hit home -- they had to go to tons of different maps to get all the daily quests they wanted. It was pretty eye opening, the amount of time and effort it took. When he did a runthrough and looked at how long it took to go to each map, it took several minutes JUST to type out all of the map names and go to all of the maps. That has a big impact on how much you and other players enjoy the game. Adding all of the quests all in one spot should help mitigate this issue.

The current plan is to have at least one more update in the "not too distant" future. After today's update, we'll get more feedback from the community, then we can add more quests, house items or pets that players might want that have the daily quest board attached, etc

Bonus: New Chaos Weapon Drop

For those that don’t want to deal with the typical crowds in Yulgar’s Inn, then we have a daily drop in a library! Head over to the /BackRoom of the Chaos Librarium to obtain the easily-concealable Chaos Shankers from the Chaos Sp-eyes and Chaos Rats. Travel-sized for the hero who quest is to cause more chaos wherever they go.

The poll to decide which Greenguard Noble House would be featured in a Boss Release concluded last Saturday night with the Vaughns getting the most votes! Since the event itself won't go live until August, here's a sneak peek of what you're going to be facing in the heart of Chiral Valley!

In the link below is the contents of the Lore books that will be featured in the actual release. I had text like this prepared for all of the Noble Houses in the poll. Don't fret if the one you voted for didn't win. All of them will be shown in-game eventually! The Vaughns just get an earlier turn.

Blazebeard (Lore's most notorious pirate) seeks to steal the ancient power trapped deep inside the island's volcano. If he succeeds, he'll have enough strength to rules the seas... the land... and beyond.

Help Choose a Future Boss to Battle 

An upcoming reward farming boss will be based on the crest of one of four Noble Houses in Greenguard... and we want to know which you'd pick!  Read on to get the Design Notes to get more information about each choice, then vote. In the release itself, you'll learn more about how the House was established and what the origin of their Crest is.

All Around Lore: The Nobles of Greenguard

Hi, all! This is Cylisse in with another big lore post! This one covers four of the Noble Houses in Greenguard.

We're looking at Houses Vaughn, Cavendish, Bligh, and Granville - all of whom you've met in the Main Story. In the near future, there will be an in-game vote where you choose one House to be featured in a short Boss-Only release. It'll explore how the chosen House was established, and what the origin of their Crest is. That means you'll be fighting a Crest Beast very soon!

All of the crests, as well as house Vaughn's signature armor were designed by Lae. The design of the other noble families' signature armor haven't been decided yet, but will be assigned once a future release puts the spotlight on them.

Celebrate Pride this month and every month!

...This month, and every month! Feeling like you're different, or don't belong, is always a challenge... and that's especially true in today's world. That's why it is so important to recognize that our differences and unique qualities are what make us special. 

The Artix Entertainment community has always been made up of many different heroes. The AdventureQuest Worlds team is as diverse and multi-cultural as our community. And as a team, we feel it's important that we always respect ALL heroes.

That's why several years ago we returned all of the gear, with an important change: the seasonal Pride shop became a permanent one. Mi, the non-binary NPC from Darkon's Elegy of Madness Saga, found a new home in the Shinkansen map*, and a new role as the permanent shop vendor. 

They are proud to be Mi, and we believe that you should always be proud of who you are and the struggles you've overcome.
