This Year's New Mogloween Event is Here

There's nothing more fun for the little ones of Battleon that running from /house to /house, begging for candy (and battling the monsters that try to take it from them). But year... something's just a bit off. Every building in Battleon with a strange sigil that -- according to Warlic -- will MELT BATTLEON'S RESIDENTS INTO SOUP BY SUNRISE?!?! What the -- O_O!!! Log in now and go trick-or-treating from house to house in Battleon and at your fellow hero's houses as a cover to evacuate the townspeople before it's too late.

2022 Founder Pet: Platinum Baby Dragon of AWE

Tonight: the original AQWorlds Founders will unlock their exclusive 14th Birthday pets: the Platinum Baby Dragon of Awe... inspired by the Blade of Awe from the original AdventureQuest. There are two pets, one with the regular armor + one with golden Awe armor.

Any player who unlocked the Blade of Awe Merge Shop can create a non-platinum version of the pet if you have the required items: Baby Red Dragon pet + Guardian Patent.

Class Changes + PVP Fix

This weekend, we're releasing some changes to the Archmage questline to address the concerns you've shared with us. Overall time to do the quests remains relatively similar, but now offers more shortcuts for more prepared players, and alternative routes to avoid some of the low drop rate items.

Some of the quest items now come from either more or completely different locations, so be sure to read the changes carefully! As a bonus, all the drop rates will be disclosed.

PVP Fix: Scoring for 1v1 PVP was fixed this week. (It was awarding 10 points per kill instead of 1,000)

Each time you spin the Wheel of Doom, you'll get a Treasure Potion to spend in the Doom Merge Shop. Save up 1,000 and you'll be able to buy a Wicked Item of Donated Awesomeness. Each WIoDA lets you choose a rare or valuable item* straight from your account manager.

How to Claim your Prize

Make sure you have a confirmed email address attached to your game account, and then follow these steps:

Decide on the item you want
Log into your Account Manager
Click on the "Awesome Prizes" link on the sidebar
You'll see a list of the IoDA tokens you have available
Choose from a list of ALL the eligible item rewards
You'll be taken to a verification page to confirm your choice

Redeem IoDA tokens to get even MORE bonuses

For each of the first six eligible IoDA tokens you receive , you'll get a FREE Bonus IoDA. The eligible tokens are the Ultimate, Epic, Platinum, Wicked and Golden tokens. After that, you'll get a free Bonus IoDA for every 3 eligible IoDA you redeem, with no maximum stack. So if you have that dream set of gear you want to create... now you'll be able to.

After you redeem your...

1st IoDA, you'll unlock 1 free bonus IoDA
2nd IoDA, you'll unlock 1 free bonus IoDA

Treasure Chests Details

There is a small chance to get a mysterious Treasure Chest as a reward drop when you battle ANY monster in-game. Have you found one yet?

Treasure chests are a fun - but completely optional - way to get exclusive items in AdventureQuest Worlds. The chests have a less than 1% chance of dropping from ANY monster in the entire game. Each one contains one of over 215 epic items that you can't get anywhere else (and the number will keep growing)!

All of the items are 0 AC so you can store them for free
All of the items are non-member so you can use them forever

There's just one problem. You can't open the Treasure Chests without a Magic Key. The good news is that Twilly (the little red Moglin in Battleon) has a few extras and will happily sell you one for 200 ACs and open your chest for you.

Monthly Membership Perk Arrives Thursday, September 1st

Members, log in and talk to Twilly this Sunday to claim your two FREE treasure chest keys! Collect treasure chests as you battle through Lore, then use the keys to open them for new free items.

Archmage Class

Master of the Arcane Arts

It’s AdventureQuest World’s 14th birthday, and Artix Entertainment’s 20th anniversary! To celebrate, we bring you a brand new endgame class that’s near and dear to our hearts and games- Archmage.

Archmage is a very flexible farming class that you can tailor to play to your style! Between two modes and scalable skills, this class is sure to have something for everyone.

While primarily a farming class, Archmage can also fill a small variety of roles at a very high level, including some solo capability and debuffing capability.

How to Unlock the Class

Speak to Warlic in /dragonrune hall to begin the questline for Archmage. Like any other endgame class, this is a long and difficult journey you will undertake to unlock the class. You can begin this 10-quest saga at level 60, but the requirements of the quests will increase as you progress through them, requiring you to be level 80 to finish the class. The class will not be available for ACs.

The quests will take you through a journey to master the Arcane arts and learn about the various facets of magic. You’ll go through many fights, both easy and hard, and overcome some of the strongest fights in the game to achieve the class. Insignias will NOT be required to finish the class, but can be used as shortcuts for several of the requirements, speeding along players who wish to take on the extra challenge.

After you finish the questline, you can take on an extra extremely challenging quest to empower your new armor and weapon and make them color custom!

And now, the class abilities!

Description: Recommended enhancements: Wizard. Mana is a permeating force, present in all life and space. Archmages guide the flow of free-flowing mana in the air, creating phenomena in the physical world and altering its course.

Stat Model: Offensive Caster

Mana Regen: Archmages read the flow of the Ley Lines around them, regenerating mana only with the use of certain abilities.

Casting Sigil in Corporeal Ascension shifts you into Astral Ascension, granting you rapid mana regen, 60% DoT damage, 20% Dodge, 5% Haste, and a small rapid HoT based on your mana when you cast.

Conclusion

Archmage is a deceptively simple class with a great amount of depth. Being a farming class, it was designed to play smoothly and be simple, with very few auras and interactions- but its scaling damage and heals and dual-mode play give it an incredible amount of customizability and build potential.

Being the first new class to release after the Blacksmithing updates, we wanted the class to be extremely receptive to enhancement traits and types. Because of that, the class has incredible synergy with different builds and different scenarios, allowing you to really tune it to your preferences.

The core gameplay of the class revolves around your two Ascension modes- Corporeal Ascension allows you to guarantee critical hits and be extremely tanky, but you’ll have to manage your mana more carefully. Astral Ascension allows you to have a constant influx of mana and drastically increases your damage over time, but leaves you considerably more vulnerable to damage.

Figuring out how to switch between modes or optimize one mode can greatly increase your power. Keeping up Arcane Sigil grants you a significant damage boost, at the cost of health and mana for casting it. The lower your health and mana, the more damage you deal. Finding a balance between your resources, your skill usage, and how actively you want to play the class is what Archmage is all about.

Monster change: A change to the Nightbane monster in /thevoid map was made in anticipation of the Archmage Class quests scheduled to arrive next week.
Guilde name update: Before when you disbanded your guild, your account "reserved" the name forever. That has now been changed to only be held for 21 Days. After that the name is up for grabs for anyone creating a new guild or someone wishing to change their guild name to that guild

October 2022 Calendar Update

AQWorlds 14th Birthday + AE 20th Anniversary Dates

Originally, the AQWorlds team had planned to release the AE 20th anniversary event this week, alongside the AdventureQuest 3D event. The new release date has been moved to early next week. Part II of our 20th Anniversary event is still planned to go live on Friday, October 21st.

This Friday, log in and battle as the AQWorlds seasonal birthday map returns with a new monster + rewards! Also coming this weekend: the Black Dragon Collection Chest and 2022 seasonal starswords in /dragonroad.

The 500 Free AdventureCoins gift originally scheduled to arrive this week requires completing Part I of the 20th Anniversary event and will be available next week.

Achievement Tracker Rewards: The Whys and Whats

A "reward" is, by definition, something that must be earned. It's given in return for service, merit, hardship, etc.

For players who unlock the "Time Played" badges, the achievement tracker gear is a reward for their dedication and stamina, for staying with our community.
For players who unlock the "Sagas Completed" badges, the achievement tracker gear is a reward for their skill and drive to complete the many in-game sagas.
For players who unlock the "Loyalty" badges, the achievement tracker gear is a reward for having the desire and ability to financially support the development of the game.

Achievement tracker gear is a bonus, an extra bit of "oomph" to make the act of reaching the goals even more awesome!

Tricks, Treats, and Sweet Rewards are Back for Halloween!

Holiday AC Bonus Ends Tonight

AC Bonus Update... WHOOPS!

Our Holiday AdventureCoin bonus was supposed to end on October 3, but the image remained live in-game (though it was removed from the website). To make up for any confusion, we're extending the bonus until tonight's server restart. If you bought any AC or membership pack from October 4th through tonight, you'll receive the extra ACs.

Happy 20th Birthday, AdventureQuest

They level up so fast, don’t they?

The game that started it all just turned 20 years old! 🥳

Back in the day, the original AdventureQuest (commonly referred to as BattleOn) dominated high school computer labs since it was legitimately one of the two online games available at the time. Sure, there were other Flash-based mini-games out there like Frog in a Blender and Gerbil in a Microwave,* but none of these time-killers compared to the full RPG experience of AQ.

* Gosh, the early 2000s had a sick sense of humor…

Before AQ came along, the only way to play a full RPG video game was to buy a physical game for your PC or console. That. Was. It. You (aka your parents) would have to shell out like $50 to buy a game cartridge or a CD, oooor you’d have to wait weeks for a certain game to become available at Blockbuster.** Of course, there was always the option to play games at your friend’s house, but it wasn’t much fun playing a single player RPG with only one save slot 😭

** I am seriously aging myself with all these archaic references.

But then!! AdventureQuest came along in 2002 and revolutionized the gaming experience! No longer did you have to worry that your eMachines computer wasn’t powerful enough to run the latest CD-ROM; AQ made gaming possible anywhere, so long as your computer was hooked up to the internet (back then, it was called the World Wide Web dial-up connection). High school and middle school computer labs were prime gaming grounds thanks to AQ’s browser-based gameplay, a F2P model that was unheard of at the time, and some of the worst graphics you had ever seen!

Fast forward 20 years, and AQ is still free-to-play with much better graphics than before (except that default character face — goodness gracious!!). Update: AE’s 20th Anniversary in AQW

There are some things in life that are out of our control. Sometimes it’s pimples, sometimes it’s terrible fashion trends, and other times it’s devastating forces of nature. Hurricane Ian wrecked Florida last week; our thoughts, prayers, and positive vibes go out to everyone affected by the storm. Thankfully, all of the AE team and their families were unharmed, although some suffered property damage and went without power & water for many days. *gasp* Does that mean y’all went without coffee too?! *sobbing hugs*

Hard to work on anything — esp computer game stuff — when you don’t have any power. That being said, we have to push back AE’s Anniversary event to the following Friday, October 14, 2022. I knnnnoooww I said it would begin Oct 7, but good luck voicing complaints to a Hurricane 🤷‍♀️

The 20th Anniversary event is still so enormous (and somehow got even bigger, thanks Artix lol) it will span the course of 2 weeks PLUS we’ve got Mogloween nipping at our heels AND ermahgerd there’s so much going on this month and in this run-on sentence SO here’s the current updated AQW release plan (barring any other force majeure events):

As if all that wasn’t enough, there’s all kinds of other stuff you can do in the meantime, like gettin’ yer gauntlets on the new Star Swords and collecting viscera (uh wut?) during the newest Carnax adventure. I saw somewhere on Reddit that there’s this heccin sweet house item but idk if that is for realsies or is just joke. It was these 2 dragons coming down through the ceiling as if home insurance would be a-okay covering that claim.

“First Hurricane Ian, and now DRAGONS?” No wonder why insurance companies are leaving Florida…

Well just like everyone else at AE, I have got to get back to work! BTW: when I wrote this, it was Wednesday, so that means we should ALL have worn PINK! 💞
