Bug Fixes:

Maul map now has static spawn monsters.
Thunderfang map no longer causing players to go invisible plus some other small tweaks.
Replay cutscenes in AQ Lesson are really working now. HONEST!

Art Fixes:

Enchanted Void Overlord female red chest outline fixed. This one had hidden symbols in it so apologies for it breaking again after the last fix!
Baby FlameTongue eyes now stay the same through the blinking animation.
Zorbak’s Baby Dragon pet has been convinced to be a little less friendly.
Renegade ShadowSlayer female morph helms. We brought in a better makeup artist for the eyeshadow and jaw contouring.

Not Fixed & Why:

Dark DragonGuard set. As the name states, it’s Dark. This is exactly how it was intended to be. See also Bug, Opinion or Engine Limitation.

This Weekend: Great Fire War Finale

The Fight Against Drakonnan Heats Up!

Human looking Aria in the Pet Store in Battleontown has regained her mouth and stopped giving people the evil eye. (Which version you see depends on where you are in the story)
Gravelyn in /gravestrike and /shadowstrike has been convinced to stop flirting.

Not Fixed & Why:

Moonstone Cultist armour is non-standard. It has a skull head. The neckline is shaped for that head, not for when you equip a morph helm.
OverSoul Paladin is also a non-standard armour.
Enchanted Void Aura Cape, Enchanted Void Cape, Enchanted Void Dragon Cape - we cannot make the green fur CC as there is simply no available options to set the CC to. Anything it could be set to would make the same colour as something else and that is not how it was intended to be.

This is exactly the way Milton sent the file, so it will have to remain as is. See this Design Notes post for more information about this issue.

Happening Now: The Great Fire War

The Great Fire War is one of the most iconic battles and events in the Lorian Universe, appearing in the original AdventureQuest and DragonFable. The AQWorlds team merged both stories into a new, three-week event, and it all begins this week!

Hero vs Fire Dragons: This Means WAR!

You face a 1,000,000 wave army of fire dragons... to save Ashenvale, you'll need to raise the war meter to 100%! If you're only just joining us, here's how you fight in a war alongside your fellow heroes:

Log in and click the button on your game menu to go straight to the event in /firewar
Talk to Galanoth to accept the war quests
Slay 5 fire dragons to complete your quest
Click on the war meter to turn your quest in and raise the war meter

Each time you complete a quest, you have a chance to get one of the pieces of the DragonSlayer Recruit armor set!

Omniramis WingMaster Horns and Omniramis WingMaster Locks names were backwards. Not anymore.
“Recycle, Rebuild, Rescue” quest reworded to be more clear on instructions.
Various typos.

Art Fixes:

Elite Beastmaster male hand now turns correct CC colour.
Eye of Astaroth Blade Pet untilted.
Vampire Dragon bank pet no longer being overly affectionate.
Cyber Blood of Nulgath female eyes now correctly CC’d.
Dark Bloodtear lightning animation now consistently coloured.
Djinn Summoner Scarf CC issues fixed.
Dark Noble Garb female fixes - busted back arm, pink outlines, skirt misaligned.

Not Fixed & Why:

Shielded DragonKnight’s shield - this is a non-standard armour.
Crows Team male purple part showing near shoulder area is intentional. It’s part of the shoulder pad. Female doesn’t have it because she doesn’t have shoulder pads.

Since I've run out of idea for the Extra section and haven't been getting a lot of questions, it will now be swapped out for the Not Fixed section. This will not include any reports that need someone other than Reens or myself to fix them as those get sent to the person who needs to look into them.

2018 Surfboard Design Contest

Ready to paddle out and make some radical art?

Summer is coming, and that means two things - one, SURF'S UP! And two, Surfboard weapons return to Artix Entertainment's games! This year, we're holding an all-game surfboard design. We'll take your ideas and turn them into works of KILLER (wave) art, dude! So hang onto your helms as you hang ten, and read on for the contest guidelines!

All our regularly-updated games are participating in the contest. That means your entry has a chance to appear in AQWorlds, AQ3D, AdventureQuest, or DragonFable.

Each of the game teams will choose their own Grand Prize Winners. Those Grand Prize winners will be created and added into the respective games over the next few months.

Prize Details

Grand Prize winner(s) will be chosen by the game teams. GP Winners will get their design in game and 2000 Artix Points!
Winners Circle entries will get 1000 Artix Points!
If you go Above and Beyond, we shall award you accordingly ;)

Contest Timeframe

The contest will range from today, May 4th until 10 AM EST on Friday, May 11th. The winners will be announced the following week on the AE Contests Twitter account.

Contest Rules

The rules and guidelines are pretty radical, but MUST be followed accordingly for your edible entry to be eligible. I repeat, in boldface and in red font, ‘cuz a lot of people miss this: YOU must follow EACH rule if you want your entry to be considered eligible.

The easiest way to make sure your hard work gets judged: Read all of the rules before submitting your entry!

Your entry must be made by you.
Do not copy someone else’s hard work. That my friend is called cheating, and you will be disqualified for it.
Include your game character name on the piece of artwork itself.
This way we really know it’s made by you! And NO, photoshopping your name onto your picture DOES NOT COUNT, and you will be disqualified if you do.
If you want your entry to be considered for a specific game, write that game's URL on the image below your game name.
If you do not include a specific game, your entry will be considered for all games.
Your entry MUST be created in some sort of Artix Entertainment theme.
Create anything you want from AQW, EpicDuel, BladeHaven, DragonFable, MechQuest, AdventureQuest, and WarpForce! If we cannot tell what it is from our games, you will not be qualified.
The screenshot of your entry should be of the Highest Quality, and as large as possible.
The more clear the picture, the better it will look, upping your chance at the Grand Prize!

Uploading your photo to your Facebook and sending us a link does not allow us to see the photos. Also, if you upload your photo to your LOCKED image-sharing account, we cannot see it either. So make sure you send the image itself to the Twitter account linked above.

Using Pre-Made/Existing Game Art

We received a question from fellow AQW Hero, Catpyre. They ask: "would using pre made AQW art count as cheating?"

Answer: Pre-made as in... existing in-game art? No, that would not count as cheating. If you want to pose, say, Gravelyn and Drakath walking along Coral Beach at sunset, and you use their NPC art, that's fine. Or if you have a favorite cutscene moment and want to see that on a surfboard, you can fit that into the template to see if it fits.

It is a design contest, not necessarily an *art* contest.

Back in March of 2017, we started a new upgrade incentive to show our appreciation for all the heroes supporting AdventureQuest Worlds. This year, we're doing the same... with a twist!

5 More bank, inventory, and house spaces (over the cap, if they are already maxed out)
A 20% boost to one weapon of their choice (that they already own)

Prize FAQ

Only one entry no matter how many times you upgrade. (Upgrades include the 1-12 month upgrade packages and 2000 - 12000 AC packages)
Staff-only/custom items are not eligible
Team members may only donate an item they have legitimately purchased (not gotten for free).
Winners can ask for any item; the list below is just a suggestion. Requests can only be fulfilled if a another account has donated the item.
If only one donated item is left (example: Great Thief Class) and two players ask for it, the first to email will get the item.
While you can ask for a non-rare, farmable item instead of a rare item, the request can only be granted if another account has donated it.
You can win EIoDA more than once on the same account (if you're very, very lucky)
Eligible items to request include: classes, armors, weapons, capes, helms, pets, houses. Farming resources are not eligible.

If you ask for something that the developers feel may become a problem, they will write back and explain the issue, and ask you to choose another item.

Where will I see the note? What will it look like?

Winners will see the note in the Miscellaneous Items tab in their inventory. It will look something like this: "January 2018 Golden Ticket"

If I already won the Ultimate Item of Donated Awesomeness, can I win the Epic one?

Yes, you sure can! (If you're that lucky, we have a couple favors to ask...)

Are there limitations to the boost I can pick?

You can only choose an item (weapon, helm, cape, armor, etc) you currently own. It cannot already have a boost on it.

Available boosts are: Gold, XP, Class Points, Rep, Racial (increased dmg to humans, dragons, etc)

Can an upgraded account win the "log in" prize?

We went back and forth on this. Short answer: no.
Long answer: The pool of 5 winners is only drawn from people who upgraded in the previous month. If you did not, then you're elgible for the "log in" pool.

We know there are some of you who would love to buy a membership or ACs, but just can't. Real life happens (and so do bills). We want all our free players to have a chance to win awesome prizes like this, too.

Ultimate Epic Item of Donated Awesomeness

Back in 2012, heroes who spun the Wheel of Doom had a chance to get the Ultimate Item of Donated Awesomeness. Anyone with the UIoDA could choose one item from a list of items donated by other, SUPER generous heroes. For years, you guys have been asking us to bring back the UIoDA. And now... we HAVE!

The Epic Item of Donated Awesomeness is the exact same thing... only you have a chance to get it by upgrading your account with an AdventureCoin or Membership package. (Or a smaller chance just by logging into the game!)

The list below is a sample of items donated by your fellow AQWorlds heroes. If you log in and find an Epic Item of Donated Awesomeness in your inventory, follow the instructions on it to claim your prize.

Want to donate one of your rare items? Email your username and the list of items you'd like to donate to: [email protected]!

We will contact prospective donators before removing items, so be sure to send the email from an address you check regularly. Once you donate an item, you will no longer be able to buy it back from your Buy Back Shop, so be sure before you say "yes"!

This Weekend: Return to Vasalkar's Lair

This weekend: Dungeon (Crawls) and Dragons!

If you can’t stand the heat, slay ALL the dragons! This Friday, log in and prepare to fight as we return to Vasalkar’s Lair. We’re polishing the zone for low-level heroes and adding an all-new dungeon crawl with high-level Void Draconian enemies for experienced adventurers! Battle to see just how deep the tunnels below Vasalkar's Lair go, then face off against their commander, the ArchFiend DragonLord!

New in the /lair map this weekend:

Dedara the DragonSlayer LoreMaster arrives with quests for her armor
Existing quests and NPC dialogue adjusted
Monster balance reviewed
Underlair zone added

The UnderLair is geared towards heroes higher than level 20. Anyone CAN join, but the deeper you go into the Underlair, the stronger the Void Draconians will get! Along the way, you'll also encounter the ArchFiend DragonKnight and the level 90 ArchFiend DragonLord!
