  1. Titanium Crowned Northern Snowball added to Titanium Northlands Royalty shop.

Art Fixes:

  1. Seraphic Commander female changes from last week now showing.
  2. Sandsea Enchanter female skirt part has been smoothed out.
  3. Evolved Hex of Nulgath female skirt covering leg now.

Not Fixed & Why:

  1. Necrotic Caster's Skull Pet not CC to eye color. This has been mentioned before as well.  CC pets don’t work.  Pets were never intended to be CC and they break.  A lot. When a CC pet breaks, such as the CC bit resetting to base colour when you change rooms, there really isn’t anything we can do about it.  This is why we usually do not do CC pets.

Bug Fixes:

  1. The Unholy of Vokun boot tips stay on now.
  2. Galactic Destroyer Cape no longer changes size.
  3. Sparring Suit female remade on new template to fix CC and connection issues.
  4. Empty Inn NPC in /thespan empty back button removed.
  5. Warlic’s “Journey to the Center of Lore” button in /battleontown fixed.
  6. Vordred monsters in /vordred have turned in their Santa hats.
  7. Legendary Hero BOL badge stays a badge now instead of thinking about attacking you in your sleep.

    1. Demonhuntress / Demonhunter Horns small non-CC skin bit fixed.
    2. Archer Drow Helm small non-CC bit fixed.

      HAPPY NEW YEAR!  We're back! With a big list today!

      Bug Fixes:

      1. Formal Skull Cane animation was not supposed to be on trigger.  It has now been changed.
      2. Festive DoomKnight and Festive DoomKnight Cape descriptions updated.
      3. Purple Doom Lord Safiria Morph added to Vesper's shop.
      4. Chromium Void Cape added to it's proper shops now.
      5. Member Class Shop readded to game menu.
      6. Holiday ArchPaladin female version has been added.
      7. Falcon Commander Battle Pet has been informed he actually is a battle pet. He agrees.

      Art Fixes:

      1. Frostval Barbarian Poleaxe has all it's details now.
      2. DragonRune SpellSmith and SpellSword's Apprentice have tails on both genders now.
      3. Desolate Rogue Female no longer has a gap at the shoulder.
      4. CyberCaster Armor and Digital Dark Caster Armor now has the same glow on both gender boots.
      5. Obsidian BladeMaster Male now holds a weapon properly.
      6. Frozen Guardian Blade and Sparkling Pomegranate Flopper have been de-evil-pixelized.
      7. Paragon Naval Commander red and blue variants have had multiple fixes done so both genders are more similar now.
      8. Doom Prismatic Composer Armor female has had shoulder surgery to put it back in place.
      9. Assassin of Shadows Male has had the extra bits and bobs removed.
      10. Diving Gear - Male shoulder and neck fixed.  Female leg fixed.
      11. Shiny Cape no longer crowding on you.
      12. Spiked Guard’s Helm - all versions have been made to align the same.
      13. Chromium Void Chrono Staff repositioned.
      14. SteamPunk Pirate Captain Male had misplaced CC bits. Removed.
      15. Prismatic 7-Tailed Fox Tail  has a full outline now.
      16. Demonhunter Horns front horn now properly layered.

      Not Fixed & Why:

      1. Frostval Barbarian Helms that were not released was intentional.  Not everything is always used, or used at the same time.
      2. Frostval Barbarian items which drop from monsters are not meant to be in the Collection Chest. Only items from Quibble were guaranteed to be in it.
      3.  Overlord's Fiend Horns Cape and Overlord's Fiend Wrap + Horns - sorry but black has no "glow" to it.


      Artist Choice:

      1. Inclination for Incantations is being held as you would to read it.
      2. Locks Of Viltusial break over the eye.  (side bug of cutting into the shoulder is a layering problem and to fix it would require redrawing the longer hair)
      3. Chromium Void Polearm was not intended to have a glow.  The glows were only supposed to begin with the Chromium Void Chrono level.

      Extras:

      Remember non-standard armours? 

      1. Enchanted Void Awakening is a different shape than the normal template.
      2. Fantasy Bard Male, SpellSword Artifact Hunter Male, Legion Jolly Roger Armor Both - these files are very old and their layering did not follow the normal patterns. They’re as fixed as they can get now. 

      Pets being annoying?

      1. Mediator Bullpup CC.  Item colouring bases can come in 3 “tones” or “shades”, dark, light or none.  Which one is used is up to the artist who made the item. 
      2. Bonus to this - pets were never supposed to be able to CC.  They break.  The "returns to base colour on room change" is just one example of this.  
      3. 10th Anniversary Nulgath Pet and Eternal Champion's Nulgath Pet are as fixed as they can be due to the above issue.

      We're coming into the year end holidays, so everyone at Bugs would like to wish you all the very best!  We hope Xanta brings you something other than coal!

      This is also a popular vacation time, and it's no different here at AE!  Due to some well deserved vacation time, the Patch Notes posts are going to be on vacation for a couple of weeks or so.  There will still be some minor bug fixes happening behind the scenes, and we will keep on top of any game breaking fixes during this time.  We just won't be posting them again until we return to the regularly scheduled fits of insanity in January.

      Bug Fixes:

      1. Golden Helm and Antlers added to Northlands Royalty Tier 1 shop.
      2. Boreal Reindeer added to IceStorm Collection shop.

      Art Fixes:

      1. Abyssal Angel/Abyssal Wanderer male CC bits corrected.
      2. Titanium Queen's Battle Crown and Titanium Northern Queen's Crown have stopped imitating each other.

      Not Fixed & Why:

      1. No Class jumping out of the bank - We’ve been chasing this bug for years, and still cannot catch it.  We cannot determine why it is doing this. Yet! We’re still chasing it though.  For now, I can remove it from your inventories if you want, so please only write in if you want it removed.

      We would like to remind everyone that this is not exactly the same as the old Wheel of Doom.  The bonus x6 Treasure Potion drop only happens after the Wheel spins have attempted to award all items.  One of the functions which did not work properly in the old Wheel of Doom was detecting items obtained from the Doom Merge shop, so we have removed that check, and it now awards 3x potions when you spin an item you already purchased, until it has spun all items.

      The drop rules for Treasure Potions are:

      • Spin the Wheel, get normal rewards + bonus prize
      • No bonus prize drops? Get 2 Treasure Potions instead of 1.
      • Wheel tries to give an item you bought/already had? Get 3 Treasure Potions instead of 1.
      • Already have ALL the Wheel drops? Get 6 Treasure Potions instead of 1.

      Bug Fixes:

      1. Icestorm map reopened.  It was originally supposed to be part of Frostval In July, not December.
      2. Candy Cane Rippers have been moved from the Rescue Blizzy quest to a drop from Frosty.
      3. A Rock Inanitas Is Making You Keep  has been made sellable.
      4. Ultimate Flame Katana is now Ultimate Flame Blade.
      5. Chaos Witness badge will light up now.

      Art Fixes:

      1. Tainted Destruction Blade has been upsized.
      2. Black J5 female neck has been touched up some.  This armour is actually non-standard so this is the best it can get.
      3. Claws Of Darkon have been moved a bit for less groping.  Due to layering, this is the best it will get though.
      4. Obsidian Grovebreaker Armor has had brown/yellow lines removed.
      5. Titanium Northern Queen's Crown and Titanium Queen's Battle Crown will now stop trying to turn into each other.
      6. Same for Fiend of Nulgath (Rare) and Evolved Fiend Of Nulgath.
      7. Copper Bullet and J6's Birthday Guns have had the grip adjusted.
      8. Armed Celestial Commander Wings have been untilted.

      Not Fixed & Why:

      1. Pets with quests being unsellable - This is not a bug.  There was a two fold reason for this one. One is we have noticed that when accounts become compromised, these pets seem to be the first things sold off, so this is for the pet owner's protection.  The other is to prevent players from obtaining the pet, getting a reward and immediately selling the pet.  This is not how they were ever intended to work.

      Gears of Doom & Why Treasure Potions Cannot Be Banked

      We’re getting a lot of reports on the Gears of Doom and the Wheel of Doom which are not bugs.  The most common two are “not getting gears” and “can’t spin the wheel”.

      The most common one is the player banked the first gear and seems to have forgotten it.  Once you place one in your bank, the next one (or two) will go there as well.  Look in your bank.  I’m sorry folks, but there just isn’t time to send each of you an email saying “They’re in your bank”.  

      This is also one of the two causes of “can’t spin the Wheel”.  The Gears simply will not work until you take them out of your bank.  So, look in your bank and then remove them to use your spin!

      The other cause of being unable to spin the Wheel is you do have to be level 10 for the free spins.  Why?  Because we want to encourage players to play the game!  That is what games are made for, after all.

      The next most common result when checking those reports is many people seem to have a misconception on when they will be awarded Gears.  Please look at the following chart.

      The week for awarding Gears is personal to you.  It begins the day you pick up your first Gear, and will not reset again until 7 days after that.  You cannot collect more than 3 Gears in your “personal week”.  (See Player A)

      If for some reason, you do not manage to log in and collect all 3 Gears in the 7 day period, you will collect the next one the next time you log in, and your restart day will be the day after you use them to spin the Wheel. (See Player B)

      We are also investigating options to make this much easier from a player perspective as well!  Keep an eye here on the Design Notes for updates on that!


      Why Treasure Potions Cannot Be Banked

      Yorumi had to do some new magic and make Treasure Potions unable to be banked to prevent loss of them when players would bank them, and then get more, and try to force the stacks to merge.  While the TPs did not vanish every time you tried this, thanks to some backend magic, if you moved them enough times, eventually one stack would vanish.  

      This ONLY happens when it is stacking items which are triggered by player actions and are forced into your inventory, and you have a stack in the bank as well.  So 3 items - Treasure Potions, Daily XP Boost! (1 hr) and Power Gems.  So please don't try to force any other stacks to merge!  They will do it on their own if you just let them.

      We explored many ways to stop the Treasure Potions from vanishing, and none of the options which previously existed were fool-proof.  This is when Yorumi got his magic bag out and completely rewrote Treasure Potions so that they could not be banked.  At all.  

      This is not a “quick and easy” fix by any means, which is why it was only applied to Treasure Potions, as they have taken on the role of a form of micro currency with the Doom Merge shop, and especially the Platinum Item of Donated Awesomeness.  

      For all other items:  There are two types of reactions stacking items have when you already have a stack in your bank.   

      For items that you have to pick up manually, it will not allow you to pick it up.   In that case, you may be able to retrieve your stack from your bank and then pick up the item.  

      For items that are automatically added to your inventory, it will go into your inventory, and into your bank when you relog if you do not try to force it to stack with the others.  Trying to force it to stack with the others in this case could cause the item to vanish.

      In both cases, it is always best to remove your stack from the bank before collecting more items.

      We are still looking at better solutions, but we did need to do this to prevent any more loss.  So please, don't try to force any other stacks to merge!  They will do it on their own if you just let them.

      1. Map /foulestfowl has been dragged out of hiding.  You can’t really blame a giant turkey for hiding during a food fight can you?
      2. Reavers of the Gilded Sun are now properly dagger weapons.
      3. Fae’s “Classified Chaos” quest in /fableforest had been one time only, now repeatable.

      Art Fixes:

      1. Digital Duality of Nulgath Male feet color now stay colored when moving.
      2. Doom Midknightgown Female face put back to old one from last week’s fixes.
      3. Champion Blade of Nulgath ring in hilt now CC.

      Not Fixed & Why:

      1. Things that were Artist Choice this week:
        • Obsidian Grovebreaker Armor Male horns on the neck area
        • Evolved Necromancer's Hair and Evolved Necromancer's Face white highlight
        • Shadowed Infernal Companion cape positioning
      2. DoomWood BOL showing at 97% - This is happening because the final quest at /vordredboss get hashed up by lag.  If you send a bug report with a screenshot link of the Vordred Boss room with all the buttons lit up pretty, I can go ahead and band-aid it for you so the BOL will stop being mean.

      1. Cysero’s apop in /battleontown now lets you do the A Golden Blade quest again.
      2. Starship House no longer lets you EVA.
      3. Surfboard of the Nation has been put in storage for the winter.

      1. Battle Commander Liest is back to his old Legion looking self.  We finally convinced him Mogloween is over.
      2. Floating Skull Pet has been unsquooshed.
      3. Fancy Winter War Locks is fully CC now.
      4. Brightoak Blade and Shield trim is fixed to silver now.
      5. DoomKnightgown and Doom Midknightgown have proper back arms now.
      6. Cyber Reavers resized and repositioned. (Damage range change was intentional)
      7. Digital Phoenix Blade upsized.
      8. Dark Void Paladin Katana and Katanas had a stray line removed.

      Not Fixed & Why:

      1. Nega Anubyx Warrior does not have CC skin on purpose.  
      2. Obsidian Grovebreaker Armor M/F coat splits into two when walking. (this one is gonna be long!) The armour is not actually breaking, this is how layers work so that part is in front and part is in back.  The front part is a layer called “Robe” and the back part is a layer called “BackRobe”. This keeps the pieces where they belong on the model.  Due to this style of layering, it does cause this split effect when moving.

      Patch Notes Extras! - Damage Boosts 101!

      Damage boosts! Everyone loves them, but sometimes they seem to misbehave. There are two common issues people report, which are not actually bugs: boosts aren't high enough (stacking), and the boosts aren't working.

      Not High Enough (Stacking)

      Damage boosts of the same type do not stack with each other. Instead, damage boosts are determined by the last-equipped item. This means that equipping a weapon that does 75% more damage to Undead, then a cape that does 5% more damage to Undead results in a 5% damage boost. They do not add up to 80% or multiply to 84%, as some players expect them to. It is solely determined by the last-equipped item.

      Not Working

      Every now and again, we'll get a report of a boost not working, and upon testing we discover the boost was indeed accidentally left off. However, the more frequent "issue" is simply the way game mechanics work.
       
      Much like with the boosts not being high enough, you can overwrite a boost entirely. Say, like in the example above, you equipped a 75% Undead boost weapon and then a 5% Undead boost cape. Your current boost is 5% to Undead from your cape. If you equip a new cape with no Undead boost or unequip the damage boost cape, your current boost will revert to the baseline (no boost).
       
      Many players expect the boost to go to 75% because they still have the weapon equipped, but because the boost is determined by the last-equipped item, equipping an item with no boost (or, seen another way, a 0% boost) last will cause you to have no boost. The same thing applies for unequipping the item with the boost; the game is now reading the last-equipped item as no boost, due to it only reading the last item equipped for the boost.  When you unequip an item, it does not look back for others, just the one you took off.
       
      To get your boost working again, you'll have to make your last-equipped boost item is the one you want the boost from, or re-equip an item when you change pieces of gear.

      For race based damage boosts (vs undead, human, dragon, elemental, chaos), monsters can only be considered one thing. A Dracolich may look like both a Dragon and Undead, but it can only be one. Check the AQW Wiki to see what a monster is considered. If your damage boost isn’t working against a monster, it may not be a broken boost, just the wrong kind of boost.

      There is also a "vs all" boost.  This boost, like others, will not stack with it’s own type, but it will stack with any of the other race based boosts.  So an DoomLord’s War Mask and a BLoD will stack, but a DoomLord’s War Mask and an ArchFiend DoomLord will not.

      But why don’t they stack?

      Boosts of the same type were originally never intended to stack.  Sets of items which all have the same boosts have them because people do like to mix and match pieces to create unique looks.  By having the same boost on multiple items from a set, this gives the freedom to do that!

        1. Bloodtusk travel map for Dream Nexus updated so it no longer dumps you in a room with no boss.
        2. Click box for the Ebil Disk in the Be Ebili quest has been upsized.

            1. Legion Jolly Roger Armor has been de-pixeled.
            2. More pets have been tamed!  Baby Wooly Mammoth, Goblin Forest Warrior Pet and Goblin Wolf-Rider Pet.  (A side note here, not all pets can be moved, but we try to get as many as we can off your leg)

              Not Fixed & Why:

              • Battle Commander Liest using Scourge art WILL get fixed.  He need to go into the shop for a full overhaul though.  Keep an eye on My Twitter for news on when he gets repaired!

                      1. Undead Boomstick’s description updated.
                      2. Lightguardwar map set so to story progession now.  You do still have to turn either war quest in to begin the story.

                      1. Deathknight Helm now covers entire face.  
                      2. Male Brightoak Avenger armor - a few more fixes to the colours.  
                      3. Eternal Dragon Warrior armor hands CC fixed.
                      4. Battle Commander Leist got his picture back.
                      5. Bongo Cat helms - Twilly's paws stay red.  All of them have stopped sitting on their paws.

                      AQWorlds Patch Notes

                      Check the list of bug fixes to see what the team has addressed

                      Bug Fixes:

                      1. Kalestri Hound in /void has been put back in the kennel to let the Void Bear back to it’s spot.

                      Art Fixes:

                      1. DragonSlayer Guard - we gave the male version some makeup remover.  (Patch above eye now actually CC to skin)
                      2. Prismatic Doomknight Helm had some CC tweaks to match it to the Enchanted Sepulchure Armor.
                      3. Brightoak Avenger Armor had multiple colour and shading updates.

                      Not Fixed & Why:

                      1. Shadowscythe General heel is farther down than usual. This is due to the leg being longer than the standard template.
                      2. Bloodless Hair does not have a transparent piece, it has a gap in the strands of hair.
                      3. Time Assassin having black feet is the way Laken sent the art in.

                      Bug Fixes:

                      1. Shadowscythe General (AC version) items have been given their damage bonus now.
                      2. Reki has left the (Brightfall) building.

                      Art Fixes:

                      1. 0AC version of Ghostly Naval Commander missing art has been re-arted.
                      2. Sepulchure’s Original Helm horn straightened and toothpicks removed.
                      3. Prismatic Doomknight Helm eyes are now eye coloured.
                      4. 10th Anniversary Nulgath Pet no longer changes color when laughing.
                      5. Elegant Kimono female arm has been sewn back on.
                      6. Renn's Wear eyebrows on male were not missing, they had been bleached out.  They’ve been re-coloured now so they show.
                      7. Tank Mech Armor female art now showing.

                      Extras:  Clogged Inventory Spaces! (aka “You Do Not Meet The Requirements” message)

                      An issue which has been popping up a bit more often now is something we thought we had locked down, and that is the error message “You do not meet the requirements …”.  We had initially thought this was a cache issue, as clearing cache did fix it 100% of the time.  We were partially right.

                      Turns out the issue stems from stackable items and how they are handled.  When you pick up stackable items, they are first placed in an empty space in your inventory and then move to the stack they should be in.  This happens so fast that you normally should not even notice it happening. 

                      But how does this cause the “You do not meet the requirements …” error you ask.  And that is a great question.  What is actually happening is when you pick up the item and it moves, it reserves that space for a few seconds, or longer if it’s even the least bit laggy.  The server is reading the space as occupied even though it is not.  When all of your inventory is filled with these ghost occupied spaces, it gives you this error message.

                      This also seems to happen, if a bit less often, when you are buying items from a shop and banking them or selling them to get them in your BuyBack Shop to make room to buy more items. Even more rarely, it may also happen with quest items.

                      You can stop and clear your cache if you wish.  Or just relog.  Or just wait a few moments.  In most cases, this will actually resolve itself within a few moments. If it does not resolve itself within 2 minutes, a relog will solve it.  If a relog does not solve it, then something else broke and we will need you to send a bug report!

                      Bug Fixes:

                      1. Twilly’s Platinum Dragon Friend description updated.
                      2. Paragon’s/Nation’s Dragon Wings quest descriptions have been updated.
                      3. The button in /orecavern that was supposed to take you to /ancienttemple actually takes you there now.

                      Art Fixes:

                      1. Projectionist Top Hat missing the brain part - this one was really weird!  The missing bit was only if you had finished past a certain quest, which is why it was so hard to track down. It is now fixed!
                      2. Ghostly/Forgotten Navals Male secondary/extra belt has been unbelted.
                      3. Eternal Champion’s Wings have stopped changing colours.
                      4. Xiang’s Evil/Dual/Good Wings no longer turn 90 degrees when you move.

                      Not Fixed & Why:

                      1. This isn’t really a not-fixed, but I’ll list it here anyway.  The Evolved Lightcaster has always been unselleable during Aranx’s birthday event.  It will be sellable again tomorrow.
