You May Have Won the War…
But the Battle with Incubus Rages On!
Wowza… in just 4 days, you and your buddies have slain over 3,000,000 Vampire Bats, Hemogoblins, and Vampire Ghouls in the Mogloween war! And now Incubus the Vampire Lord is waiting for YOU. He’s a level 35 and has 32,000 HP—so it’s safe to say that this overgrown Vampire Bat really sucks blood.
Good news though: he’s got some pretty impressive item drops if you succeed in defeating him!
Granted, Incubus isn’t going to willingly hand them over. You are ganna have to fight him over and over again if you hope to get his sweet Mogloween swag (or just be REALLY lucky and get all those item drops in 1 kill, which would be like a .05% chance of happening).

The Last Day!
You Only Have A Few Hours Left!
Today is the very last day you will EVER be able to become a 2nd Upholder by supporting the game buy upgrading to a member!
You have heard us going on and on about this for weeks now but maybe you were in outter mongolia and didn't have any internet until today or maybe you just found out about AQ Worlds so here it is one more time!
If you are a member by tonight at 11:59 PM EST (server time) you earn the right to call yourself a 2nd Upholder which grants you a special 2nd Upholder Achievement Badge on your Character Page so the whole world knows that you decided to help keep AQW going strong by supporting it with your membership, AND you get the very awesome rare item.. the Onyx Star Sword.
This will be the ONLY time that the Onyx Star Sword is given out and it ONLY goes to 2nd Upholders.
For those of you who have chosen to support AQW with your memberships, we really hope you find that being a member is worth a lot more than you paid. Thank you for supporting us, thanks for playing and thanks for sharing the game's 2nd birthday with us!
Birthday Event Closes Today!
Today is also the last day to take part in the AQW 2nd Birthday Event hosted by Paul and Storm, featuring Jonathan Coulton! That means today is the last day to play through the Mirror Realm adventure and grab all of the super-swoop rare items from the event!
The AQW Founders will also recieve their free non-member Onyx Platinum Dragon pets will be delivered with the 2nd Upholder full color badges and Onyx Star Swords tomorrow.

Incubus Is Nearly HERE!
You guys have ripped through the current war, and as I write this the war is hovering at around 93% complete. By this evening you will be able to face down Vampire Lord Incubus! Kimberly from One-Eyed Doll is waiting for you in the war camp urging you forward with One-Eyed Doll's newest Single "You're a Vampire"!
You can also catch One-Eyed Doll's spcial AQW version of their music video for "You're a Vampire" by clicking the One-Eyed Doll button in Battleon! If you haven't yet, you really need to check it out.
Your fellow AQW adventurer, Xyo did am amazing job editing AQW in-game art into the real video. We're really excited that One-Eyed Doll decided to let AQ Worlds be the stage for the world premiere of their video.
You might be saying "Cysero, it's so cool to see a real music video right in the game. HOW DID YOU DO IT?!"
The answer is an easy one: I didn't. Zhoom, llussion and our new coder Yorumi did all that. I'm just as impressed as you are.
Pumpkin Princesses and Princes!
The Pumpkin Carving contest is done and we are in the process of marrowing down the winner or winners from all of the great entries that we got! The Grand Prize winner or winners each get 5000 AdventureCoins! I have also made a special pumpkin themed sword for the winner or winners which I have named "For the Gourd". This will be one of the rarest items in the entire game!
I always love having contests like this. It's really great to see how creative you guys can be with something as simple as a veggie.
If you've ever had one of your suggestions make it into one of Artix Entertainment's games and watched it come to live right on the screen then you know how we feel when we see ideas from the games we make come to life in the real world through your creativity! You guys are really amazing!
The winner or winners will be announced, and the sword will be hand delivered this Friday! If you're in game when I'm delivering the swords I'll goto you and say gratz personally.
Chaos Lord Fight: MEMBERS ONLY
This Friday is also the Arcangrove Finale member only preview! It's been a long and fun zone and I'm pretty sorry to see it come to a close. This zone has become my favorite in the entire game with it's beautiful areas, fantastic original music, impressive magic-themed items, interesting NPCs, and extremely fun-to-write plotline. Minimal and I have cooked up a new boss mechanic for Chaos Lord Ledgermayne which will require you to pay attention during the fight. I'm not going to say anything else about it but you members get to figure it out before anyone else. Have fun!
Stratos, Beleen and I have been combing the suggestion threads and we will be updating the Player Suggestion shop in Yulgar's Inn this weeked as well!
Forum Question
A lot of you have already tied your AE game accounts to the Battleon Master Account System but even more of you haven't yet. What little bonus would it take to get you to start a Master Account and attach your accounts to it? A free inventory space? An achievement both in AQW and on your Master Account? A handful of free ACs?

Now that my pink reign of terror is over, you can see that there is A LOT going on right now and in the near future.
First thing on the agenda: our 2nd Birthday Event is going RARE!
This is your last chance to get your hands on AQWorlds’ Second Birthday Rare items. On Wednesday, November 3rd, all of the Rare Items throughout the event will FOREVER disappear and will NEVER be offered again.
So for all you Rare Item collectors out there, or if you’re just starting off your collection, or if you just wanna have a piece of AQWorlds history, then hurry up and play through the Birthday Event to make sure to get all those Rares while you still can!

I do not know if the items during tomorrow night’s release are going to be perma Rare, or Event Rare, or Seasonal Rare, or Medium Rare (mmm, sounds delicious). I guess we will all have to wait until tomorrow to find out!

One-Eyed Doll Returns!
New Song and Music Video Premiere
Kimberly, Lead Singer of One-Eyed Doll and former Chaos Lord, will be making a special appearance in AdventureQuest Worlds this weekend to premiere a new song!!!!!!! Check back tomorrow for more details.
The Vampire Lord's Army Grows Bigger
Four scouts were sent to determine the size and strength of the Vampire Lord's army in Mystcroft. Alas, only one returned... the other three are now reportedly minions of the Vampire. It gets wose, the army preparing to attack us... IS MASSIVE! King Alteon and Empress Gravelyn are meeting a few times in-game tonight and tomorrow to come up with a plan to defend the town of BattleOn. Things are looking grim however. The Vampire Lord's Army is already larger than we can possibly handle and is growing each day. By our scouts estimation we only have between 3 to 6 days before they attack!
Final Weekend for 2nd Upholder Achievement
This weekend is your last chance to get the 2nd Upholder Achievement and the collector's Onyx Starsword! To get the achievement upgrade to Member or have an active membership on or after November 3rd. Like Founder... once this achievement is gone it will never be available again. Chaos Beast and Mogloween!
Megaweekend!
This weekend we have the Birthday Event still going strong, the re-opening of the last 2 years worth of Mogloween and lots of great Seasonal Rares and a brand new chapter in Arcangrove, with a deadly Chaos Beast to fight and tons of GREAT NEW items to grab!
You'll be happy to note that there is no puzzle in this week's Arcangrove saga but a CRAZY hard quest that may take you a while. Get some snacks!
Time Grows Short!
We may have extended the Birthday Event but the deadline for 2nd Upholder hasn't changed. If you want to become a 2nd Upholder you only have 18 days left!
Next Week - Mogloween 2010
Don't forget that next week is our all new Mogloween adventure, but you will only be able to play it if you have finished the last 2 years worth of adventures. You only have one week to help the Cauldron Sisters regain their Candy Shoppe before next week's all new event!

BladeHaven Beta Begins
Get Your Beta On!
BladeHaven is our newest game. it's got FIRST PERSON slashing action, achievements, terrified villagers, Jimmy The Eye... pretty much evertyhing you'd want out of a single-player, first person webgame!
Beta Testing for this game begins today! You'll need a Battleon Master Account linked to your other game accounts if you want to be one of the first to play BladeHaven.
IF YOU HAVE A BATTLEON MASTER ACCOUNT & YOU HAVE LINKED YOUR OTHER AE GAME ACCOUNTS TO YOUR MASTER ACCOUNT, then you should see if you qualify to Beta test!
Warlic has just added a Beta Tester Achievement Badge to the game, (which you won't see if you are just creating a character) and best of all, if you get the "Mercernary Contract" item in BLADEHAVEN then you automatically recieve the Non-Member Mercenary Gnome pet in AQW!
AQW Birthday Event Extended!
We only have our second birthday once so, by popular demand, the AQW Birthday Event is being Extended but it won't last forever. Once the event leaves the nearly all of the items fo with it. If you haven't gotten the item that you wanted from the event yet, now you have a little more time!

Mogloween Starts TOMORROW!
Tomorrow, you will be able to relive all the Mogloween fun for the past 2 years starting TOMORROW! You will even be able to grab a few of the Seasonal Rare Drops and AC items, but the SEASONAL RARE SHOP and the PUMPKIN LORD CLASS will be released alongside a number of ALL NEW spooky Mogloween items in NEXT week's all new Mogloween adventure!
We're trying out our new merge shop system in next week's release so you will need to complete quests and farm monsters ro different types of candy that you can excahge for all the great Seasonal Rares in the shop!

Chaos Beast / Mogloween!
Coming Friday!
Coming this Friday, you will fianlly enter the Magic Portal at the top of Arcangrove Tower and fight your way through the para-elemental plane of magic to face Chaos Lord Ledgermayne's Chaos beast... the Mana Golem!
This legendary creature, like Ledgermayne itself, is a being made of pure magic. The difference is that the Mana Golem was crafted by mages long ago as a magic weapon of last resort but prooved too dangerous to control or even allow to exist, and too powerful to fully destroy.
The Mana Golem was moved to the para-elemental plane of magic where it could harm do no harm if it were ever to be awoken from it's unnatural slumber.
This week we are also re-releasing AQW's MOGLOWEEN EVENTS from the past two years! You'll head back to the spooky town of Mystcroft which only appears during this spooky time of year and meet up with your friends Bubble (Bubble), Toil and Trouble, The Cauldron Sisters!
This will give you a chance to catch up on last year's insanity before we release THIS year's exclusive Mogloween content NEXT week (The Children of the Candy Corn!)! It will also give you a chance to get this year's 2010 tegged season rares, season rare house items and the ever popular Pumpkinlord Class (which cannot be tagged)!
Level 31-35 Enhancements Coming!
Now that we've raised the level cap to 35 you're going to need some new Enhancements to get your gear up to spec! We're currently working on adding these new Enh to every shop and we should be ready to release them later today or tomorrow at the latest! Keep your eyes on the DN's for announcements!
Canadian Thanksgiving!
As Beleen noted below, today is the day that Candians give thanks for all of their Canadian blessings. As we did last year, we have opened the Canadian Thanksgiving Shop and we will keep it open until Friday, when the AQW 2nd Birthday Event also (maple) leaves!
BladeHaven Beta Release
Beta for BladeHaven is scheduled to begin on Thursday. The Beta will use the ONE LOGIN TO RULE THEM ALL and will be open to Guardians, DragonLords, Star Captains, AQWorlds Members and... um... we have no idea what Epic Duel players that upgraded are called... but yup, them too. Bladehaven is a first person sword fighting game. It features achievements that will earn your master account EXP.
Time Is Running Out!
Remember, you only have until November 2nd to become a 2nd Upholder. We deliver the Onyx Star Sword and your 2nd Upholder full color badges on November 3rd (as well as the founder pet). After that... you're out of luck. You'll have to wait an entire year before we offer you the chance to become a 3rd Upholder, but this is your ONLY chance to become a 2nd upholder.

Happy Birthday AQW
Level Cap Raised to 35!
AdventureQuest Worlds has turned 2 years old today! In addition to the 2nd Upholder Offer (which lasts until November 2nd), the special AQW Birthday Event hosted by Paul and Storm, featuring Jonathan Coulton, and adding 10 more purchasable backpack item slots (speak to Valencia in Battleon to buy yours!) we have also just raised the level cap to 35!
A few things to note: New Enhancements will be added to the game early next week, and remember that you can only get XP from monsters within twenty levels of your own level. So if you are level 30, you will only get XP from things higer than level 10.
Some people have noticed that the Undead Artix's legendary weapon, the Shadowreaper of DOOM, is a NON-MEMBER item even though it drops from Super Udead Artix, a MEMBER-ONLY challenge fight and want to know the score.
Since a lot of our 2nd Upholders from around the globe have decided to only upgrade for a month (where available) we wanted them to take something away from the membership other than the Onyx Star Sword and the 2nd Upholder Badge on their character page. A little bonus for helping to keep AQW alive and celebrating our birthday with us!
Remember, the event will be running until NEXT FRIDAY. If you decide support AQW by becoming a 2nd Upholder (and we hope you do :) ) you will have an entire week to get the Shadowreaper of DOOM (along with the member-only event rares)!

Missing Badges!
A Small Calander Error
As you know, we have been saying that you if buy a membership ANYTIME in October (from yesterday to Nov 2) You will become a 2nd Upholder, which grants you the 2nd Upholder Achievement Badge in your Book of Lore as well as on your character page, and the coveted Onyx Star Sword.
Here's the issue: if you bought a 1 month membership today or yesterday, your membership expires before November 3rd, so the system isn't seeing your badges, but THEY ARE THERE.
Never fear, loyal supporter! First thing Monday morning we will correct this oversight and all of you 2nd Upholders who chose to support AQworlds by upgrading for one month will SEE your greyed out badges on your character pages!
The badges go full color on the same day as we will be delivering the Onyx Star Sword. That day is November 3rd.
Thanks again for helping us keep AQworlds going and enjoy all of the amazing perks you get with a membership!

Tonight’s Release is LIVE!
and far too much is going on that I am incapable of coming up with a clever, convenient subheader that would encompass everything that will be launched tonight and in the upcoming days.
Look at that. It’s October 1st! Yaknow what that means?
Awww yeah! 2nd Upholder! If you are already a Member and your Membership expires on or after November 3rd, 2010, then you are ALREADY a 2nd Upholder. Yaaay, congrats!
But if you help support AQW by buying ANY membership ANY TIME during the month of October (from today, October 1st to November 2nd) then you will become a 2nd Upholder! Your awesomeness will be displayed as a new badge on your Character Page, in your book of Lore, and it will unlock a super-special-uber-rare item: the Onyx Starsword! Help support your favorite MMO and in the process gain some serious bragging rights… and the epic everybody-wants-one Onyx Starsword (that is marked as an AC item, which means you can store that bad boy in your bank for FREE and FOREVER)!
So this means even if you buy a 1 Month Memebership today, you WILL become a 2nd Upholder =D

Arcangrove Expanded: Mount Mafic
You have almost completed the Supreme Arcane Staff! Only one more piece to go… and the final part resides deep within the volcanic region of Mount Mafic.
As one of the most dangerous and powerful places on Lore, Mount Mafic is the plane between magic and natural phenomenon. Magma Golems, Scoria Serpents, Living Fires and Volcanic Maggots have thrived on the volcano since the dawn of time, protecting the FINAL piece of the Supreme Arcane Staff: the Chaos Focus Gem!
You and your buddies will have to solve the volcano’s tricky lava-bridge puzzle if you hope to obtain such a relic (and quite possibly have to fight the Boss when you get to the other side). The puzzle consists of 6 different Magic Orbs that require a distinct pattern in order to lower the bridges.
If you need help figuring it out (like I did… many times over…) the 4th tunnel when you’re inside Mount Mafic has a floating green orb that you can click and it’ll give you much needed hints on how to solve this insane puzzle! A pencil and paper might be helpful as well ^____^
The monsters here are also loaded with an eruption of BRAND NEW items. And, clearly, since I haven’t given you enough to read already, it would be my honor to list them all for you!

Shaman Class and Spellbreaker Enhancements
Finally! A new NON-MEMBER Class! I did a great big DN post earlier this morning (actually it was really really late in the evening for me) that will enlighten you on the Shaman’s abilities and whatnot. But I didn’t have a picture of the Class since, well, we didn’t finish the art ‘til just now!
Color Customizable! Need I say more? …uh yeah!
Shammys require a Rank 10 Reputation with Arcangrove. Don’t have enough Rep? Mount Mafic offers 4 new quests that will help you reach Rank 10 Rep if you haven’t already maxed it out. You can get this new Class by speaking to Rayst, who is also offering Spellbreaker Enhancements.
This entire set of new enhancements increases your Intellect, Dexterity, Endurance, and Luck when applied to your Class, Cape, Helm, and Weapon. Since Shamans rely heavily on these four Stats, there’s a pretty good chance that you will want to invest in Spellbreaker Enhs.
But you don’t have to. Customizing your character with an array of different Enhancements is part of the fun! Play around with different Stat builds and see which one best works for you! (and then let me know about it so that I can copy you)
AQWorlds’ Second Birthday Bash—Next Week!
On the crazy date of 10/10/10, AQWorlds is turning 2 years old! Last year, the world was flipped on its head as millions of players became Undead and seized Liongfang's castle to save the AE Team… but that is all in the past. THIS YEAR, things will become even CrAzIeR as we do a weekend long special event with musical guests Paul & Storm and a special cameo appearance by Jonathan Coulton! Lore is going to flip inside-out as.... *mmfuufmfmmm* SORRY FOLKS! That part is a secret… for now… until Artix slips-up and unleashes the mightiest spoiler of all time….
Tacos Rule!
On Monday, October 4th, we are celebrating National Taco Day! Artix was sooo excited about this, um, “holiday”, that Dage the Evil took it upon himself to make some totally taco-licious gear. So this Monday, there will be a giant Taco in Battleon selling the Tacobender Helm, Destructo-Tacos, Taco Admiral Helm (Male and Female versions), and the Tacomancer Armor, available for everyone who completes the giant Taco’s outrageous quest.
Yeah. We’re a little weird, just in case you haven’t figured that one out yet.

Bad Badges
Just A Quick Update!
Some of you have noticed that, like last year, the 2nd Upholder Badge on the character page is there, but greyed out. It will go full color on Nov 3rd.
The rest of you have noticed that there are people who have never purchased a membership who have the grey badge and many of you who are members well into the next year don't have them.
For example, my AQW membership doesn't expire until 2020, but I don't have the badge on my CP.
Zhoom and Ai No Miko are working on this and expect to have it displaying properly as soon as they can.

Shaman Is Coming!
Minimal has finished an early version of the Arcangrove Class, Shaman! Dumoose, Stratos and I will start testing and balancing today (YAY! We get to play with fun new powers!). Shaman Class will be a NON-MEMBER class, but will require RANK 10 ARCANGROVE REP.
You'll have more of a chance to earn more Arcangrove reputation this Friday when we release the next area of Arcangrove, the very volcanic Mount Mafic.
You'll also get the change to grab some of Dage's new volcanic themed weapons!

2nd Upholders
What is an Upholder?
Like last year, we are offering you the chance to become an Upholder (The same way that the Founders got their chance at the birth of the game and the way 1st Upholders got their chance last year at this time)
What Does A 2nd Upholder Get?!
That's easy! When you become a 2nd Upholder you get a Onyx Starsword (it's non-member, so you can swing that sword forever), an achievement badge on your character page and some CRAZY bragging rights.
Those of you who have been playing for a while know that Founders already get bragging rights. They can say "I was supporting the game before you even heard of it!" and they have the fancy Platinum Dragon pet and character page achievement badge to prove it!

Sounds Great! How Do I become a 2nd Upholder?!
It couldn't be simpler. Become a member!
- If you are ALREADY a member and your membership expires ON or AFTER November 3rd, 2010, then you're are ALREADY a 2nd Upholder. Gratz.
- If you help support AQW by buying ANY membership ANY TIME during the month of October (from now to November 2nd) then you become a 2nd Upholder!
Last year, we were able to offer this to everyone who bought ACs too, but we are unable to do that again this year. Last year there were some terrible cases of people using their phones or their parent's phones to buy ACs using SMS payments, or using their parent's credit cards when they weren't allowed. It caused a lot of trouble for us with the SMS companies and the credit card companies so we had to cut that option out entirely. Sorry, but a few bad apples can spoil the fun for everyone.
The good news is that you can still use SMS to buy memberships and get 2nd Upholder with no problems, you can also upgrade to Member status using Battleon Points, using one of our Battleon Upgrade Cards, or using any of our other payment methods!
I Think My Membership Already Makes Me A Second Upholder. How Can I Check?
Also, easy. Just click the Manage Account link on the left.
As soon as you sign in you'll see when your membership expires. Here's mine:
Cool! When Do I Get My Super Sweet 2nd Upholder Sword and Badge?
It will magically appear in your backpack on Weds, November 3rd. If your backpack is FULL, don't worry... the Onyx Star Sword will make a temporary spot for itself. Once you remove something from your backpack it will fill in the real slot and your inventory will return to its proper size.
Anything Else I Should Know?

We appreciate every single upgrade that you guys pay for. Without you there is no way that we could possibly keep the game running but our Founders will always hold a special place in our hearts for believing in us and supporting the game before we even had a game to support. Once again you Founders will recieve an upgraded version of your Platinum Dragon pet... the Onyx Armored Platinum Dragon (non-member).
We will never forget the support that our Founders have shows us over the years. If you missed out of being a Founder in AQw, you MIGHT want to consider saving up to become a founder in our NEW SUPERHERO MMO!
The 2nd Upholder Onyx Star Sword and the Founder Onyx Armored Platinum Dragon pet are both going to have a price of 0 ACs so you will be able to store them for free in your bank! We will also be retrofitting the Golden Starsword, Armored Platinum Dragon and original flavor Platinum Dragon pet so they will be able to be stored for free too!

Quibble Arrives!
New AC Rares!
The traveling sales moglin, Quibble Coinbiter, has returned to Battleon with an all new assortment of rare items (most of which he is willing to part with in exchange for AdventureCoins) which are magically themed, in honor of the new magical Arcangrove area.
In an AQWorlds first, Quibble will be staying in Battleon for a little longer than usual and next week he will be ADDING special items in honor of Talk Like A Pirate Day (including the all new Icy Naval Commander armor!).
New Arcangrove Dailies!
A lot of you have been asking for new rep dialy quests to help you earn Arcangrove reputation a little faster and we have answered your call. Speak to Ewa in The Cloister and Paddylump in the Mudluk Village to take on their new reputation daily quests!
Remember, we are only halfway through the Arcangrove saga, with lot of areas (and lots of new rep items... and maybe even a class) to come!
Dage The Evil...er
Dage The Evil (of one AQW's amazingly talented artists and J6's personal minion) has further expanded his shop and added new quests to obtain some of the blackest, most wicked armor and weapons availible in game!
If this sounds like it might echo the darkness in your own soul, speak to Dage and see what he can arrange. If you need help finding him, be sure to ask some of your fellow players.
Coming Next!
Now that we have fully recovered from DragonCon (except for Llussion who had to go to the doctor today and hasn't been in all week) we will be continuing the Arcangrove Saga, as well as beginning plans for AQW's third birthday in October.
Just letting you guys know, we WILL be offering 2nd Upholder status (much like we offered 1st Upholder a year ago, and Founder a year before that) with a special badge, rare item, bragging rights and all the benefits that come with being a 2nd Upholder!
