Kathool Adept Class
You Cannot Resist
The waters on Lore seethe with power. Kathool Adept Class will rise soon... and you cannot resist. On October 23rd, heed Kathool's call and join his collective consciousness in order to obtain AQW's newest class (don't worry you'll still have free will).

Kathool Adept
Kathool Adept plays as both a farmer and a debuffer, with the gameplay revolving around applying Madness stacks to its opponents. The more Madness stacks the opponent has, the more effective its debuffs are. In the spirit of Kathool, you're essentially driving your opponents mad enough to the brink of insanity, eventually rendering them (for the most part) ineffective against you. At rank 10, you unlock the ability to spread Kathool's influence to your allies as well, increasing their defenses!

Class Details
Description: Recommended enhancement, Wizard. You could not resist, and neither will they.
Stat Model: Defensive Caster
Mana Regen: Kathool Adepts gain mana from all hits landed in combat, and especially on critical hits. The amount depends on damage relative to *their own* HP total.
Combat Skills
Nightmare Gaze
Rank needed: 1 / Default Attack
Target: Enemy
Max Targets: 3
Type: 35% Magical as Physical
Range: Infinite
Mana Cost: 0
Cooldown: 2 seconds
Your opponent cannot resist your influence. Applies Madness to your target, reducing Crit Chance and Dodge by 10% + 0.8% per stack for 10 seconds, stacks to 50.
Each hit from this attack applies a stack of Nightmare to your target, which makes them more susceptible to your other debuffs so you'll want to stack it as quickly as possible!
Tentacle Slam
Rank needed: 1
Target: Enemy
Max Targets: 3
Type: 50% - 150% Magical
Range: Infinite
Mana Cost: 7
Cooldown: 3 seconds
Summon a tentacle that slams down on your target. Applies Feeding, an HoT that increases your Damage Resistance by 5% for 10 seconds, stacks to 10. While you have 5 stacks of Feeding, gain Writhe, increasing Physical Resistance, Magical Resistance, and Healing Power by 25%.
Your sustenance skill, the more you use it, the stronger your defenses and healing become!
Tidal
Rank needed: 2
Target: Enemy
Max Targets: 3
Type: 50% Magical
Range: Infinite
Mana Cost: 15
Cooldown: 6 seconds
Send forth a Tidal Wave that crashes into your target, dealing critical damage and applying Red Tide, reducing Damage Resistance by 10% + 1% per stack of Madness on them for 10 seconds.
A fairly standard multitarget skill that also applies a sizable defence debuff once Madness is stacked up enough!
Frenzied Feast
Rank needed: 3
Target: Self/Friendly
Max Targets: 1/7
Range: Infinite
Mana Cost: 25
Cooldown: 1.5 seconds
Manifest Tentacles from the Depths. If you have at least 5 Feeding stacks, they're consumed to apply Frenzied Feast, increasing Crit Damage and the damage of Tentacle Slam by 100%, and causing Nightmare Gaze to apply an additional stack of Madness. Lasts 5 seconds and stacks to 2. If you don't have Frenzied Feast, applies Bottom Feeder, doubling the number of Feeding stacks you gain and reducing Crit Damage by 200% for 3 seconds.
Surprise, this class summons a tentacle battle pet as well! This skill serves two purposes, consuming up to five of your Feeding stacks to stack Nightmare faster and increase your damage, or if you don't have enough Feeding stacks, lets you stack them quicker at the cost of a temporary crit damage debuff.
Call of Kathool!
Rank needed: 5
Target: Enemy
Max Targets: 3
Type: 50 - 550% Magical
Range: Infinite
Mana Cost: 50
Cooldown: 18 seconds
Call upon the God of the Depths, dealing unavoidable critical damage and applying effects based on your target's Madness stacks:
- 5: You Cannot Resist, reducing Physical and Magical Resistance by 25%
- 20: Come Join, reducing Outgoing Damage and Haste by 50%
- 50: Endless Nightmare, a DoT and reducing Hit Chance by 100%
Effects last 15 seconds.
The more Mad your target is, the more debuffs they receive. Against certain enemies they won't be able to hit you at all once their Madness is maxed out!
Passive Skills
Risen
Rank needed: 4
Type: Passive
Endurance increased by 30% and Damage Resistance increased by 15%.
Lord of the Depths
Rank needed: 4
Type: Passive
Intellect and Hit Chance increased by 20%.
Symbiogenesis
Rank needed: 10
Type: Passive
Crit Chance increased by 25%. At 10 stacks of Feeding, applies Symbiogenesis, causing your next Frenzied Feast to share Writhe with your allies for 10 seconds.
Conclusion
Your enemies (and allies) cannot resist your influence. Spread Madness to your foes to make them susceptible to your effects, while also feeding off them to increase your own power, spread Madness quicker, and share your Kathoolian gifts with your allies.
Caveat Bellator: Kathool can be called upon at any time, but the more mad your opponent is, the more effective they become. So...
