Class Updates
CardClasher & PaladinSlayer
See the Design Notes post for more info!
Arcana Invoker
We're changing Arcana Invocation to deal magic damage and adding a missing Damage Reduction debuff to The World (Reversed), so the class should be doing a bit more damage than it previously was.
Arcana Invocation:
- Damage: 100% > 60%, damage type changed to magical (overall net increase)
Arcana Revocation:
- Changed a backend damage function (the previous function used the higher of the player's Attack Power or Spell Power in the damage calculation, the new function is based on Spell Power only).
- No longer consumes Judgement Day.
- The World (Reversed) now properly applies its 22% Damage Resistance debuff.
Archivist of Time
We're making some changes to Archivist of Time's Index effects, including adjustments to the duration and strength of its defensive effects, increasing certain offensive effects, and reducing the cooldown of Rewrite Time so that all shared effects have an overall longer uptime.
The First Index:
- Fortification duration: 12 seconds > 24 seconds
The Second Index:
- Resiliency duration: 12 seconds > 24 seconds
- Resiliency Damage Resistance: 50% > 25%
- Vehemency Outgoing Physical and Magical Damage: 30% > 40%
The Third Index:
- Rewind duration: 12 seconds > 24 seconds
- Rewind HoT tick rate: Every 1 second > Every 2 seconds
- Rewind HoT strength reduced by 50%.
- Superpower Luck: 15% > 30%
Rewrite Time:
- Cooldown: 60 seconds > 50 seconds
- Shared Rewind, Resiliency, and Fortification durations: 12 seconds > 24 seconds
Legion Revenant
Legion Revenant has fallen behind in farming performance, so we're increasing the damage the class skills deal to additional targets.
System:
- Skills no longer deal reduced damage to secondary targets.
Lord of Order
Lord of Order has been greatly overperforming in both offensive and defensive support roles so we're dialing parts of it back in order to create more opportunities for other support classes. Considering the amount of party damage the class provides compared to other support classes, we feel Lord of Order best fits the role of an offensive support, so most of the changes we're making are targeted towards the defensive aspects of the class. Specifically, we're removing the Damage Resistance buff, scaling back the Haste buff and Damage reduction debuff, and increasing the cooldown of Ordinance. These changes will allow for other support classes to fill more specific roles, creating more variety in the overall support meta.
Ordinance:
- Cooldown: 12 seconds > 16 seconds
- Resurgence no longer increases Damage Resistance.
- Resurgence duration: 12 seconds > 25 seconds
Axiom:
- Clarity Haste: 30% > 10%
Blessing of Order:
- Order Outgoing Damage per stack: -8% > -4%
Resilience:
- Damage Resistance: 15% > 25%
Master of Moglins
We're changing Moglin's Magical Strike to be based on Spell Power instead of Attack Power and switching Cupcake Mana Healing to mana cost reduction.
Moglin's Magical Strike:
- Damage: 55% > 35%, now deals damage based on Spell Power instead of Attack Power (overall net increase).
Moglin's Magical Strike:
- Cupcake Mana now reduces mana costs by 25% instead of regenerating mana (the previous mana over time effect would not regenerate allies' mana).
Evolved/Prismatic Clawsuit
We're swapping the skill order of Naughty and Nice to better accomodate for certain Forge Enhancement synergies.
System:
- Switched the skill order of Naughty and Nice.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a bug on the Valiance enhancement that caused its effect to not apply if the auto attack killed the target.
- Fixed a bug on the Acheron enhancement that was causing it to not be an unavoidable crit.
- Fixed a bug on the Arcana's Concerto enhancement that was causing it to deal true damage instead of Hybrid damage.
- Fixed a bug on Elemental Dracomancer that caused Primal Power to activate before the class reached rank 10.
- Fixed a bug on ShadowWalker of Time's Silhouette/Shadow Warp in which Focus lasted longer than intended and could be applied during Temporal Eclipse.
- Fixed a bug on Arcana Invoker's Arcana Revocation skill that caused The World (Reversed) to not reduce the target's Damage Resistance.
- Fixed an incorrect description on Frostval Barbarian's Silver Thaw/Maw/Jaw that stated Crit Damage was being increased by 20% (was actually 30%).
7/23/26 - Client Update
We are currently testing a new client update that brings changes to tonics and elixirs, and adds an in-game monster drop list. Please report any bugs you find to the bug tracker.
Gameplay Updates:
- Tonics and Elixirs are no longer equipped to the consumable slot, instead they are now consumed directly through the inventory.

- Fixed party desync bugs.
*We're currently investigating the 99,999,999 gold display bug.
7/17/26 - Balance Updates
This week's balance update brings a small adjustment to Void Highlord.
Void Highlord
We initially reduced the range of some of Void Highlord's skills as it was overperforming as a farming class. However, since the introduction of Forge Enhancements, other class' farming performances have gradually improved to a point where old Void Highlord isn't as overbearing as it once was, so we feel that now's the time to let the swords fly again.
System:
- All skills are now infinite range.
7/10/26 - Balance Updates
This week's balance update focuses on adjustments to scrolls and to the ArchFiend DoomLord quest line.
Item Updates:
- Fixed a bug on the Scroll of Blessed Shard that caused it to prevent other scrolls from being used. The scroll can now be used on any monster, but only applies the Vulnerable effect to Undead.
- Reworked Scroll of Torment. Now reduces Crit Chance by 200% for 3 seconds. Cooldown reduced from 120 seconds to 30 seconds.
- Changed the merge recipe of the Golden Hanzo Void armor to Diamond of Nulgath x75, Tainted Gem x45, Dark Crystal Shard x45, Nulgath's Approval x50, Voucher of Nulgath (non-mem) x1, and 100,000 gold.

- Unidentified 35 can now be exchanged into ArchFiend Essence Fragment x4 in Swindle's Ripoff Emporium.
- Added an AC tag to Unidentified 34, Unidentified 35, and ArchFiend Essence Fragment.

- Added a level 75 requirement to the ArchFiend DoomLord quest line.
- Removed the Unidentified 13, King Klunk's Crown, Mortality Cape of Revontheus, and Essence of Nulgath requirements from the "Willpower Extraction" quest.
- The "Willpower Extraction" quest now requires Nulgath's Approval x50 instead of ArchFiend's Favor x50.
- Removed the Diamond of Nulgath, Tainted Gem, and Dark Crystal Shard requirements from the "Nulgath Demands Work" quest.
- The amount of ArchFiend Essence Fragment rewarded from the "Nulgath Demands Work" quest during the boost event has been increased to 2.
- The amount of Unidentified 35 rewarded from the "Nulgath Demands Work" quest is no longer increased by the boost event (the drop rate will still be increased)".
- Removed the Unidentified 13, Unidentified 34, Nulgath's Approval, and Voucher of Nulgath (non-mem) requirements from the "Enough DOOM For an ArchFiend" quest.

5/1/26 - Balance Updates
Happy May everyone, the Berserker rework is here alongside a couple of other class changes!
Class Updates
Berserker
As the originator of "low health equals more damage" classes, Berserker has received a set of updates to reinforce this playstyle. For starters, mana costs have been removed entirely, now opting for health as its sole resource. Breaker now deals damage based on your missing health while also healing you, Broadside now costs health and is a guaranteed crit, and most notably, Forgone Conclusion now acts as toggle skill. While active, your Auto Attack applies a stacking effect that increases your damage at the cost of draining your health on each attack. This effect can be ended at any time, healing you based on the damage dealt while active, usually resulting in a full heal!
System:
- Mana regeneration model removed (Berserkers are fueled by their rage and have no need for mana).
Savage Swings (previously Auto Attack):
- Cooldown: 2 seconds > 3 seconds
- Now costs 2% of Max HP per stack of Berserk.
Breaker:
- Mana Cost: 30 > 0
- Cooldown: 8 seconds > 3 seconds
- Damage: 50% > 50% - 150%, based on missing HP.
- Now heals for a portion of the damage dealt.
- Breaker debuff now also reduces Crit Chance by 15%.
Broadside:
- Mana Cost: 15 > 0
- Cooldown: 2 seconds > 3 seconds
- Damage: 70% > 200%
- Now always crits and can't miss.
- Now costs 30% of max HP.
Blood For Blood:
- Mana Cost: 30 > 0
- Cooldown: 10 seconds > 9 seconds
- Damage: 50% - 450% > 55% - 495%, based on missing HP.
Forgone Conclusion:
- New effect: You go Berserk, causing Savage Swings to increase your Outgoing Damage by 10% and cost 2% of your max HP per stack, up to 10. Using this skill again calms you down, ending the effects and healing you based on damage dealt, but preventing you from going Berserk for 5 seconds.
Furious:
- No longer increases Outgoing Damage.
- Now increases Outgoing Physical Damage and Hit Chance by 10%.
Fighting Spirit (previously Resolute):
- Now increases Endurance by 100% and Damage Resistance by 10%.
Frenzy (New Rank 10 Passive):
- Crit Chance increased by 10%.
Obtain Method Changed
The updates to Berserker are intended to place its performance at around a late-early to midgame level (before enhancement scaling). To reflect this performance change, we're increasing the level requirement of Berserker.
- Level Requirement: 5 > 30
- Brutal Berserker, a non-member variant of Berserker is now available through this month's monthly upgrade pack!
Note: When Lae returns from vacation, Berserker will also receive a new set of icons!
Darkside/Dark Lord
What better way to celebrate May the 4th than by giving Dark Lord a buff? These changes are intended to speed up the gameplay of the class, increase performance slightly (ranged autos wahoo), and put more emphasis on mana as a resource.
System:
- Mana regeneration model changed to "Darksiders gain mana from their Renewal Spell".
Forbidden Form:
- Range: Melee > Long
- Damage: 100% > 66%
- Now deals damage based on Spell Power instead of Attack Power.
Blood Boil:
- Blood Boil buff duration: 10 seconds > 20 seconds
Dark Power:
- Mana Cost: 15 > 10
- Cooldown: 6 seconds > 5 seconds
- Damage: 25% - 87.5% > 20% - 70%
Blinding Pain:
- Mana Cost: 25 > 10
- Cooldown: 10 seconds > 5 seconds
- Damage: 50% > 8% - 28%, based on Deep Rage stacks.
- Blinding Pain debuff now also reduces Dodge by 30%.
- Stun chance: 50% > 25%
- Stun duration: 4 seconds > 3 seconds
Renewal Spell:
- Cooldown: 30 seconds > 10 seconds
- Now consumes Deep Rage stacks to heal you and restore 30 mana, plus an additional 10 per stack consumed.
Item Updates
- Bard Class is now non-member.
- A member, color-customizable version of the Bard Armor has been added to the Mythsong Rep Shop, requires Rank 10 Mythsong rep.
03/27/26 - Balance Updates
Our last round of March Class updates is here, focusing on adjustments to the Arcane Shield and Event Horizon auras and Legion Revenant and Yami no Ronin classes.
Arcane Shield and Event Horizon Updates:
The current functionality of these auras negatively impacts what we can do while designing future classes and boss fights. We either have to design around them or, in some cases, add other auras specifically to counteract them. Currently, these auras reduce a flat amount of damage received based on Attack Power or Spell Power BEFORE calculating any secondary stats (such as Outgoing Damage or Damage Resistance), in addition to also being able to reduce any True Damage taken for an extended duration, a source of damage that is intended to not be ignorable in most cases. This update changes the damage reduction effect to occur AFTER all other calculations have been made and ignore any instances of True Damage taken.
Arcane Shield:
- Damage reduction calculation: Before stat modifiers > After stat modifiers
- No longer reduces True Damage.
- Bosses no longer remove Arcane Shield.
- Can now be applied alongside the Stygian aura from the Acheron Weapon Enhancement.
Event Horizon:
- Damage reduction calculation: Before stat modifiers > After stat modifiers
- No longer reduces True Damage.
- Bosses no longer remove Event Horizon.
Class Updates
Legion Revenant
We're making changes to Legion Revenant to adjust its survivability after the changes to Arcane Shield, as well as cleaning up a couple of auras.
Atramentous Shade:
- Atramentous Shade DoT tick speed: Every 2 second > Every 1 second (overall damage per second remains the same)
Depraved Empowerment:
- Exhortation HoT tick speed: Every 5 seconds > Every 1 second (overall healing per second remains the same)
- Exhortation Haste: 10% > 20%
- Renamed Exhortation to "Immorality".
- Arcane Shield duration: 10 seconds > 12 seconds
Yami No Ronin
Ichi, Ni, and San could often desync from the duration of the Yami, so the effects have been adjusted to make lining them up easier. Additionally, most skills are now long ranged (Nulgath is quaking in his boots), Flash stacks faster, and Revealed no longer reduces Damage Resistance. Yami no Maku's cooldown has also been reduced and Spinning Dragon is now guaranteed to apply, which should allow for some semi-frequent "parry" opportunities.
System:
- Outgoing Damage, Crit Chance, and Hit Chance per Flash Stack: 4% > 8%
- Flash Max Stacks: 20 > 10
- Revealed Max Stacks: 20 > 10
- Revealed no longer reduces Damage Resistance.
Tachi:
- Range: Melee > Long
- Ichi duration: 9 seconds > 10 seconds
- Ni duration: 7 seconds > 8 seconds
- San duration: 5 seconds > 6 seconds
Yami no Maku:
- Cooldown: 14 seconds > 8 seconds
- Now deals damage based on Attack Power instead of Spell Power.
- Spinning Dragon is now guaranteed to apply.
- Yami now refreshes its duration when applied again (the accumulated DoT damage also resets).
Kettou:
- Range: Melee > Long
Jigen Kogeki:
- Range: Melee > Long
- Now consumes Ichi, Ni, and San.

03/13/26 - Balance Updates
Our second batch of Legion Class updates is here, this time focusing on the Evolved Dark Caster and BladeMaster Assassin classes. Tune in next week for the final round of changes to the Dark Caster and BladeMaster line of classes!
Class Updates
BladeMaster/SwordMaster Assassin
We're improving BladeMaster Assassin's farming and solo performance by giving it the ability to... sheathe your weapon. Seriously, Iaijutsu now sheathes your weapon! While Sheathed, you're unable to deal damage, but during this time you have the opportunity to charge up your next attack, which can be unleashed for massive damage to one target and a reduced amount to additional targets. Upon unsheathing, you can also choose from one of two buffs to apply to yourself, further improving the class's capabilities. Just be careful while you're Sheathed as you're in a more vulnerable state, but the reward is great if you're able to overcome the risk!
Nukitsuke:
- Manually use while Sheathe is active to unsheathe, striking up to 6 targets and applying Spinning Dragon to them.
Iaijutsu:
- Now on the 5th skill slot.
- Target: Enemy > Self
- Cooldown: 6 seconds > 10 seconds
- Damage: 120% > 0%
- Use to apply Sheathe, preventing you from using damaging skills for 2 seconds and removing Death's Dance. While Sheathed, your Damage Resistance is increased by 50% and you heal over time.
Death's Dance:
- Now on the 4th skill slot.
- Mana Cost: 5 > 0
- Cooldown: 20 seconds > 2 seconds
- Death's Dance no longer increases Crit Damage, now instead reduces Damage Resistance by 20%.
- Death's Dance Dodge: 30% > 40%
- Death's Dance can now only be applied while Sheathe isn't active.
- No longer applies Do or Die.
- Now applies Prepared Strike if Sheathe is active, causing the next Nukitsuke to deal unavoidable critical damage. This effect can be stacked up to 4 additional times for bonus damage, but only deals bonus damage to the first target hit.
Simple Solution:
- Now on the 2nd skill slot.
- Max targets: 3 > 6
- Cooldown: 8 seconds > 6 seconds
- Damage: 180% > 100%
- Now deals damage based on Attack Power instead of Spell Power
- No longer deals reduced damage to secondary targets.

- Cooldown: 15 seconds > 6 seconds
- Damage: 300% > 125%
- Increased the DoT tick speed and overall damage of Hemorrhage.
- Decay now only applies while Sheathe is active.
- Removed an unstated Haste debuff from Decay.
- While Sheathe is active, deals no damage and applies Precision Cut, reducing your target's Damage Resistance by 40% for 10 seconds, and Decay for 3 seconds, then immediately uses Nukitsuke afterwards.
Zanshin:
- No longer increases Dodge.
Taihenjutsu:
- Haste and Dexterity: 8% > 12%
Evolved/Infinite Dark Caster
Evolved Dark Caster has been repurposed into a farming class. Onyx Combustion and Overshadowed now hit three targets. Styx Water now targets 7 allies and can apply its HoT to all allies. Skills now deal damage based on Spell Power instead of Attack Power. Also added a new "Soul" mechanic which can temporarily increase the damage output and healing power of the class.
Souls for the Legion (previously Dracolich Spirit):
- Physical Resistance increased by 12%. Starting at rank 1, all damaging skills (except Dark Pulse) have a 35% chance per target hit to harvest Souls, which last 20 seconds and stack to 10.
Overshadowed:
- Max targets: 1 > 3
- Damage: 110% > 55%
- Now deals damage based on Spell Power instead of Attack Power.
- Fixed incorrect stack debuff amounts (was reducing stats by 5% per stack instead of 7%).

03/06/26 - Balance Updates
Our first batch of Legion Class updates is here, starting with the original Dark Caster, original BladeMaster, and Legion Paladin. Be sure to check back next week as we'll have another round of changes for a Dark Caster and BladeMaster class!
Class Updates
(Immortal) Dark Caster
We're giving the first of the Dark Casters a swath of updates. For starters, Soul Crush and Soul Burn are now strictly debuff auras and are no longer consumed by Legion Strike. Forbidden Rite now also targets allies, adding new support capabilities to the class. Two new auras, Bound Soul and Branded Soul have also been introduced. Bound Soul is used by Forbidden Rite and Legion Strike to apply defensive based effects, while Branded Soul is used to apply offensive ones. These auras also have a secondary effect; when both are active at the same time, they're converted to Soul Charge stacks, which are used to boost the healing of Forbidden Rite or the damage of Legion Strike. Whether it's damage or support, there's a couple of different ways to play Dark Caster now, so the choice is yours!
Soul Grasp:
- Cooldown: 4 seconds > 2 seconds
- Damage: 110% > 40%
- Soul Crush now also reduces Dodge by 10% per stack.

- Soul Burn stack limit: 5 > 3
- Soul Burn Damage Resistance per stack: -8% > -15%
- Now applies Branded Soul, lasts 10 seconds and stacks to 3.
- If Bound Soul and Branded Soul are both active, their stacks are converted to Soul Charge stacks.
Forbidden Rite:
- Max targets: 1 > 7
- Damage: -80% > -10% - -40%, based on Soul Charge stacks and consumes stacks.
- Soul Barrier no longer stacks, now increases Damage Resistance by 30%.

- Soul Conflate no longer stacks, now increases Crit Chance by 30%.

Legion Paladin
Legion Paladin often found itself running out of mana quickly, so we're lowering the costs of its damaging skills, but increasing the cost of its heal as it's quite powerful and on a short cooldown. Overall you should find you have a lot more mana than before.

System Updates
-
When the Safeguard aura is applied, its shield amount is now visible on the user's HP bar.
Class Updates
Alpha Omega
As Alpha Omega means "the beginning and the end", it felt appropriate to give the class a set of changes that reflected its namesake. Double Strike now deals more damage the more health percentage your target has and Bunker Buster now deals more damage the less health percentage your target has. In addition, mana costs have also been reduced while Field Medic and Maul have had their overall utility improved. Passives have also been renamed to be in-line with EpicDuel's Mercenary class, as that is what Alpha Omega was based on.

DeathKnight Lord
Improved farming performance and AoE debuffing. Bone Gathered stacks now increase skill damage and Cerement now removes them to heal and increase defenses, rather than debuffing damage and crit chance directly. Cursed now reduces damage resistance instead of haste, and Calcium Rushed has been reworked as rank 10 passive.

Hollowborn Vindicator
We're making a few adjustments to the Born Anew skill so that damage boosts don't increase the amount of health drained. The skill now also applies a Safeguard effect while Decay isn't active, allowing for additional protection while at low health amounts. We're also changing Graceful so that it now removes Decay, allowing for additional ways to play the class.
Focused Grace:
- Cooldown: 6 seconds > 4.5 seconds
- Damage: 110% > 60%
- Graceful now removes Decay.
Born Anew:
- HP cost: 50% of current HP, scaling with boosts > 50% of max HP, doesn't scale with boosts.
- Now applies Safeguard for 6 seconds if Decay isn't active, blocking up to 2,500 damage.
Note: We're aware of other classes in the game with health cost functions that scale with damage boosts. Based on your feedback to this Hollowborn Vindicator change, we may look at making adjustments to those other classes' skills as well.
Naval Commander
Improved farming performance and AoE debuffing. Skills now use Attack Power instead of Spell Power for damage calculations, improving overall damage output. Strike'n Parry now has a timed effect that reduces outgoing damage further and Commander's Rally now has a timed effect that increases Dodge further. Flintlock Fury now functions solely as a taunt skill, with its defense debuff being moved to Flintlock Barrage and the stun being removed as it often interfered with mana recovery in farming scenarios. Base Dodge has also been significantly increased.
Strike'n Parry:
- Now does damage based on Attack Power instead of Spell Power.
- Strike'n Parry Outgoing Damage debuff: -20% > -30%
- Now appllies Counterthrust, reducing Outgoing Damage by 40% for 1 second.

- Now really inspires their Pirate crew.
Flintlock Fury:
- Now does damage based on Attack Power instead of Spell Power.
- No longer stuns.
- No longer applies Swashbuckled (moved effect to Flintlock Barrage).
Broadside Blast:
- Crit Chance: 10% > 20%
Gust of Wind:
- Now also increases Dodge by 30%.
Phantom Chronomancer
We're making a few changes to Phantom Chronomancer's mana management and changing the Enshroud effect to always be able to be applied, but reducing its duration. These adjustments should allow for more playstyles on the class.

- Mana Cost: 10 > 8
Final Hours:
- Enshroud can now be applied while Temporal Rift is active.
- Enshroud duration: 12 seconds > 8 seconds

- Time of Death now reduces mana costs by 50% for 3 seconds.
Enhancement Updates
Ravenous
In our previous Dev Blog post, we mentioned that we were exploring changes to the Ravenous weapon enhancement and today, these changes arrive. To go into detail, Ravenous is an almost universally applicable enhancement that improves secondary stats, healing, and mana recovery, while its Execute function also causes certain classes to perform exceedingly well. Our goal with Forge enhancements is to add more depth to the game by providing a variety of customization options for classes, but Ravenous often ended up being the clear choice in most situations. Simply put, Ravenous is doing a bit of everything too well, so we're reworking the enhancement to give it a more defined role while preserving its theme of consumption.
New effect:
- 100% chance to activate on third skill
- 0 second cooldown
- Deals 75 - 338% Hybrid damage, increasing the lower your target's HP percentage is.
- Applies Ravenous, increasing your Outgoing Damage by 10% and Crit Chance by 25%.
- Applies Consumed to your target, reducing Outgoing Damage and Crit Chance by 10%, plus an additional 1% for each stack, up to 30%. Effects last 10 seconds.
Alongside this change, we have also added additional rewards to the Fiend Shard House Shop. See the Item & Quest Updates section of this post for more details.

Guardian
Changes focused on increasing viability in most use cases. Removal of the self DoT de-limits the class, allowing it to more effectively reach its performance potential. 1/31/25 - Balance Updates
This week's update brings a few quality of life adjustments.
Items and Quests:
- Increased the drop rate of Death Badge.
- Crag and Bamboozle's "The Poisonous Deal" and "The Refreshing Deal" quests now require Unidentified 3 instead of the Bone Axe.
Class Points:
The Class Point formula has received a small adjustment:
- Old: (225 + (Class Rank * 25)) + 1-10
- New: 230 + (Class Rank * 25)
The Class Point reduction formula based on the level difference between the player and monster has also changed. The intent of this change is to increase the overall amount of Class Points that players receive during the early game, as players often end up being a few levels higher than the monsters they're fighting:
- Old: -5% Class Point reduction for each level the player is above the monster's, up to -95%.
- New: -10% Class Point reduction for each level the player is above the monster's, starting at 11 levels, up to -95%. (example: If you're level 23 and a monster is level 13, you'd earn as much Class Points from the monster as you would if you were level 13 (or lower). If you're level 25, the level 13 monster would only give you 80% as much Class Points as you're 12 levels above the monster.)
1/10/25 - Balance Updates
This week's update focuses on class bug fixes and a few adjustments to existing Nulgath quests.
Balance Updates and Fixes:

- On the "Kindness" of Nulgath' quest, the item reward is now choosable instead of random.
- ArchFiend's Favor, Nulgath's Approval, Dage's Favor, and Dage's Approval are now AC tagged.
- Increased the stack limit of Nulgath Quest Runes to x13.
- Increased the stack limit of the turn in requirements on the "Dirt-y Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" quest to 10x their required turn in amount.
- Increased the stack limit of the turn in requirements on the "The Perfect Pet" quest to 5x their required turn in amount.

Balance Updates and Fixes:

- Fixed a bug on Legion Paladin that caused Shadowblight to deal incorrect damage.
- Fixed a bug on Cryomancer that caused Frozen Defense to not consume Polar Vortex.
12/06/24 - December Balance Updates
Ho-ho-ho! This week's balance patch notes focus on updates to the Frostval Barbarian and Frost SpiritReaver classes, as well as an adjustment to the Frost SpiritReaver quests.
Frostval Barbarian
Changes have been made to improve farming performance. Barbaric Strike is now ranged, Enrage no longer reduces Haste, and some of Enrage's power has been shifted into Winter's Depress.
Barbaric Strike:
- Range: Melee > Long
- Damage: 100% > 50%
- Now has a 25% chance to stun for 1 second if Enrage is active.
Frostval Gifts:
- Switched skill order with Winter's Depress.
- Frostval Gifts can now be applied to allies while Enrage is active.
- Frozen Beard now only applies to the caster.
Winter's Depress:
- Switched skill order with Frostval Gifts.
- Cooldown: 8 seconds > 5 seconds
- Damage: 0% > 75%, can't miss or crit.
Enrage:
- Cooldown: 3 seconds > 5 seconds
- Damage: 300% > 250%
- Enrage no longer reduces Haste.
- Enrage outgoing damage buff: 100% > 50%
- Enrage duration: 10 seconds > 5 seconds
- No longer applies Focus. This effect was not specified in the skill's description, and was removed to preserve the balance of the class.
Frost SpiritReaver
Giving Frost SpiritReaver a boost to performance and changing the way that Frozen Essence stacks interact with Spirit Synchronization.
Spirit Freeze:
- Cooldown: 4 seconds > 3 seconds
- Damage: 45% > 35%
Spirit Banishment:
- Mana Cost: 20 > 30
Spirit Synchronization:
- Cooldown: 2 seconds > 6 seconds
- Damage: 15% > 10%
- Desynchronized no longer removes Spirit Synchronizing.
- Now only consumes Frozen Essence stacks if Fully Synchronized Spirit is active.
- Frozen Essence stacks no longer refresh.
- Frozen Essence duration: 10 seconds > 20 seconds.
Monster Updates
- Adjusted the stats of Super-Charged Karok.
- Adjusted the stats of Enfield.
- Reduced the levels of monsters in /snowmore.
- Reduced the damage of Image of Glace, Abel, and Shade of Kyanos.
Quest Updates
- The Frost SpiritReaver quests now require level 60 in order to begin.
- On Frost SpiritReaver's "Cold Blooded" quest, Icebreaker Mage is no longer required in order to accept the quest and the Sapphire Orb requirement has been changed to Necrotic Orb. Frost SpiritReaver's performance did not reflect the difficulty of some of the monsters that needed to be defeated in order to obtain it, so changes were made to make the quests more reasonable for a mid level player to complete.
Item Updates
- The Frostval Barbarian Poleaxe is now also rewarded from the "Unleash the Frostvale Barbarian" quest.
- Increased the drop rate of Northern Crown.
- Increased the drop rate of Frostslayer.
- Xyfrag's Slimy Tooth and Nerfkitten's Fang can now be purchased in the Void Merge Shop for Gold Voucher 500k x1 and Void Energy x50 each. While progressing through the Verus DoomKnight quest line, players were often finding it difficult to progress past the Xyfrag and Nerfkitten portion of the Doom Spikes quest, so an alternative method for obtaining their items was added.
11/29/24 - Quest + Balance Updates
This week's balance update focuses on making a few changes to existing farming quests that were affected by zone revamps, as well as a couple of class updates.
Quest Updates
- On the "Legion Fealty 2" quest, the amount of each required Cohort has been reduced from 500 to 400. Several of the Cohorts dropped from mobs that have recently been rebalanced (and generally made stronger than before), so we're reducing the number of kills needed across the board to keep completion times closer to where they previously were.
Item Updates
- Increased the stack limit of each item required for the "Legion Fealty 1" quest by 20 times its required turn in amount.
- Increased the stack limit of each Cohort required for the "Legion Fealty 2" quest from 500 to 2400.
- Increased the drop rate for DoomCoin. The /maul monsters received an increase to their HP with the Doomwood zone rebalance, which reduced the rate at which DoomCoins could be obtained.
Bug Fixes
- Increased the amount of mana restored when using Reload on Skyguard Grenadier and Skycharged Grenadier. The skill is intended to always fully restore mana, there were some cases where mana would not be fully restored while mana cost reducing effects were active.
- Fixed a bug on Infinity Knight that caused Eternal Chronomancer's Unity Through Time to not be activated.
Classic Defender & Defender
A few backend changes were made a while ago to improve server stability. One of these changes ended up removing a mechanic on the Defender classes that caused one of its skills to deal damage based on how much a target had done to you. The performance of both classes were impacted due to this change, so we're giving them an adjustment to bring them back to where they were previously.
Classic Defender
Retaliation:
-
Damage: 100% > 330%
Defender
Infernal Shield Slam:
-
Damage: 60% > 200%
Classic Paladin
Following up on Defender. One of the backend changes that was made removed the mana regeneration model on Classic Paladin. As Classic Paladin was the only class that used this type of mana recovery, we're instead opting to give it the Warrior mana recovery model as it regenerates mana the same way.
System:
-
Changed mana recovery model to Warrior.
Abolish:
-
No longer applies Zeal.
Dragon Knight
Dragon Knight's kit is quite solid, but it's not performing as well as we'd like it to so it's receiving a buff for no other reason than that whatsoever. 👀👀👀 No siree, nothing else to see here so move along.
Dragon's Fire:
- Can now crit.
- Flammable Magic Resistance debuff: 15% > 30%, now also reduces DoT Resistance by 50%.
Dragon's Might:
- Can now crit.
- Now also applies Disarmed to your target if they have not been yet affected by it, reducing outgoing damage by 80% for 4 seconds.
Swordplay:
- Can now crit.
- Damage: 25% > 200%, now does damage based on weapon DPS.
- Swordplay and Masterful duration: 10 seconds > 15 seconds
Dragon Breath
- Can no longer miss.
- Damage: 210% > 225%
- Blazing Siphon duration: 12 seconds > 15 seconds.

10/18/24 - Martial Artist & Legendary Passives!
Class Updates
Martial Artist
Many of you took to different social media sites this past week to express your disappointment regarding the newly released Martial Artist class. We hear you loud and clear, and are making some much needed changes based on your feedback.
The Good News: We just released this year's birthday class; Martial Artist, which uses a (mostly) unique Auto Attack function!
The Not So Good News: Martial Artist's Auto Attack function is heavily reliant on server connectivity, meaning players with higher server response times are seeing noticeably poorer performance than those with lower response times. Additionally, many of you feel that the class requires way too many skill inputs.
In order to keep a level playing field between players in different regions while also reducing the amount of times buttons need to be pressed, we have shifted Martial Artist from its connection based, manual Auto Attack, to a standard Auto Attack. This means that the way the class plays has been significantly changed, but its overall performance levels remain roughly the same, while still keeping a higher skill ceiling than most classes. As Martial Artist is intended to be a late game class, its performance levels may not reach those of certain endgame classes, but you may see improved results if you have specific enhancements or gear to go along with it.
Once again, a big thank you to all who left their feedback on Martial Artist. We're sorry we didn't meet your expectations, and hope you have a much more enjoyable experience with the new version of the class!
Class Changes
Pummel is now an Auto Attack. Stance skills now deal damage and consume all mana when used, but every two uses of Pummel grant enough mana to swap Stances again. The amount of Pummels required to fully stack Frogzard and Gorillaphant auras have been reduced. The Haste granted from the Swift Strike passive and Crit Chance granted from Gorillaphant based stances have been reduced in order to balance the class at lower levels, but should be unattainable once Forge enhancements are obtained. Concentration still reduces mana costs, but with the new intent of allowing Stances to be swapped quicker while also increasing damage output.

10/01/24 - Azalith, Morningstar Update #2!
Yesterday, we rolled out an update to the boss, fixing an issue where mis-timed heals would lead to instant party wipes. The changes (which included added DMG to the Inversion attack) diminished the difficulty of the battle but increased the difficulty in coordinating with party members. This was not the goal.
A new update will go live shortly, bringing the Azalith, Morningstar boss closer to its original version but with a Decay attack instead of the heal inversion. This will keep mis-timed heals ineffective, but less detrimental to the health of the party.
Azalith, Morningstar Updates:
- Changed attack speed from 2 seconds to 2.5 seconds
- Inversion Magic now applies Decay, no longer deals damage
- Tenebrae now removes Decay
We've received a lot of feedback about why last week's challenge boss felt so frustrating. The entire team appreciates everyone who took the time to share their thoughts.
We've added several design guidelines to help ensure sure future boss battles are more enjoyable from the start:
- no Rare Rarity gear tied to challenge boss fights
- Azalith, Morningstar and the Divina Voluntas item will not be required for future farms

09/13/24 - Sandsea Saga Updates and Pirate class?!?
This week's update includes an update to Pirate class and a rebalancing of the Sandsea saga.
(Alpha) Pirate
Pirate often found itself running out of mana quickly which made it difficult to use for extended periods of time, so we removed the mana cost on Plunder as it was the main culprit responsible. The Plunder Haste effect has been swapped out for a crit damage buff and Haste has been added to one of the passives in order to make damage output and skill flow more consistent. Cannon Fire has also received a few adjustments to line up its cooldown with the rest of Pirate's skills while also no longer increasing the enemy's Haste. We also plan to make Pirate a non-seasonal early game class in the very near future, so stay tuned for more info on that in the coming weeks.

Beastmaster Challenge
- We decided to remove this quest as keeping it around would result in the rebalanced lower rank rep quests being largely ignored. Master of Moglins
Master of Moglins was falling a bit behind other classes in farming performance, so we told the Moglins to do better. Ninja
Classic Ninja
Normally, we rework class skill sets when a class is underperforming, has gone unused for long periods of time, and the existing skill set is generally just uninteresting and lacking a clear playstyle. Ninja in particular is an odd case, as it's generally skipped over during the early game, but finds some use in certain late-game applications due to its Shadowblade skill, a very powerful effect that causes most monsters to miss their skills. Ninja's kit as a whole is quite messy which is one of the reasons why it's in need of a skill rework, but keeping Shadowblade's effect untouched in addition to reworking the rest of Ninja's skills would result in it becoming too powerful. Due to the fact that Ninja sees use because of Shadowblade, but is also in need of a rework, we've made the decision to keep the classic version of Ninja around, but release a reworked version of Ninja with new skills. Please keep in mind that a classic version of a class is a rare exception and most reworked classes won't get this treatment.
Class Item Updates
- Renamed the existing Ninja to Classic Ninja

7/5/24 - A Eternal Inversionist Update?
This week's balance update is about a change made to Eternal Inversionist.
- Increased the range of all skills to infinite.
5/18/24 - Bug Fixes
This week's balance update is all about bug fixes!
- Fixed a bug on Exalted Harbinger in which the Soul Pact aura was not being applied for the correct amount of time.
- Adjusted the Burning Ward aura so that it can no longer reduce HP below 1. If a player died to Burning Ward's reflection, it would prevent them from respawning. Additionally, monsters that died to Burning Ward's reflection would not drop anything.
- Adjusted the Temporal Insanity aura so that it can no longer reduce HP below 1. If a player died to Temporal Insanity's reflection, it would prevent them from respawning. Additionally, monsters that died to Temporal Insanity's reflection would not drop anything.
- The Temporal Insanity aura now displays an "IMMUNE" message to targets immune to it. When Temporal Insanity was applied to certain monsters, the aura would apply even though Temporal Insanity had no effect against them. To prevent confusion, an "IMMUNE" message now displays on monsters that are immune to the effect.
- The Counter Attack aura applied by certain monsters can no longer reduce HP below 1. Players could often be disconnected when dying to a monster's Counter Attack aura, this change should prevent any unwanted disconnects and also add a bit more leeway when attacking into bosses with the aura up.
The First Speaker
Changes to 'Malgor, The First Speaker' quest has been made.
- 'The First Speaker Silenced' is now a permanent item.
5/3/24 - Class Updates
This week's balance update focuses mainly on Arcana Invoker, but there's also a small surprise in store, hopefully a welcome one!
Arcana Invoker
Several changes have been made to improve the performance of the class. Significant changes include adjustments to the class's damage output to be more DPS focused, rather than being back loaded to the end of the skill rotation. Increased healing and debuff durations. Reduced Damage Resistance falloff early on. XXI - The World now lasts much longer and increases your damage output the longer it remains active, but at the cost of your defenses. Finally, the One With the Cycle skill has been changed to increase in damage the more it is used against the same target. For the full list of changes, look no further:
Anagenesis:
- Now also deals damage based on Attack Power in addition to Spell Power.

- Increased the duration of all 15 second (Reversed) debuffs (except The Lovers and Temperance) to 22 seconds

- Changed the names of the (Reverse) auras to reflect the debuff they apply.
- Bonus damage while Judgement is active has been increased, but the bonus damage is only only dealt one time to the primary target. Also, Doot Doot.
One With the Cycle:
- Damage: 100% > 20%
