Renegade
You thought you just saw the silhouette of a person flash by, but it disappeared before you had time to react. Don’t worry, you’re (probably) not going crazy— there’s most likely a Renegade hiding in the shadows! As masters of stealth and subterfuge, Renegades rely on debilitating poisons, hidden weapons, and cheap shots to take down their enemies. Legends who have trained as a Rogue under Metrea may purchase this class from her Upgrade Shop for 5,000 gold. As one of the four Tier 2 classes, impress both old and new players by showing off your dedication to the art of playing dirty! Take advantage of that high Dexterity stat with Thief enhancements, and your opponents won’t even be able to touch you. Luck is an option you should choose if you’d like to increase critical hit chance and damage, while Fighter offers more Endurance auto attack damage at the cost of a little dodge chance. Rogue Base Class UpgradeLocation: Metrea's Upgrade Shop Base Stats for levels 1 and (60)*Strength: 3 (92) *When this class revamp was written the cap was still lvl 60. Will fix. |

Footwork A Renegade who can’t dodge attacks is about as useful as a Sorcerer who can’t cast spells! Footwork greatly increases all the positive traits about Renegade we know and love. The amazing dodge chance that comes from that high Dexterity stat, and the rapid attack speed this class naturally has are both increased by a whopping 30%. And since increased haste means everything goes faster, cooldown times are drastically increased while Footwork is active. They’re reduced by such a large amount, that you can use Footwork again during the 15 seconds that the skill is active. Increased dodge, attack speed, and reduced cooldown times? There’s no reason Footwork shouldn’t be applied! |

Elusive |
Incisive |
Elusive increases dodge chance to ridiculous levels (Elusive and Footwork alone increase your total dodge chance to 45%, not to mention the boosts your Dexterity stat adds), while Incisive provides a much appreciated critical chance buff to make the most out of your many, many attacks. Oh, and did I mention that Renegade recovers both health and mana every time it dodges an enemy attack?
Before you decide to use Renegade for every battle ever, there are some things you should consider. While its exceptional dodge and unique health and mana recovery method looks promising, it’s easily overwhelmed by tough bosses and shouldn’t be used for soloing any bosses that have an above average amount of health. As for farming, Renegade can’t hit more than one target which makes it less efficient than, say, Troll Spellsmith. For casual plays through weekly releases and intense PvP matches, Renegade is a great choice. If you’d rather dodge enemy attacks than take them and roll the dice with your damage, or if you’re looking for a quick paced and well balanced class, Renegade is the class for you.
Recommended Allies!
Renegade’s biggest problem is its inability to reliably heal, and this becomes a bigger issue in boss fights with lots of players (as the boss may not often target you). Healer and Oracle make nice allies for this reason, and the latter brings its own dodge skills to the table. Speaking of dodge, Naval Commander can both heal Renegade and buff its evasion chance! Other partners that boost damage like Archfiend, Arachnomancer, and Bard are always welcome too. Archfiend gets a special mention because of Fiend Frenzy, which greatly increases critical hit chance for a short period of time. Doomknight Overlord makes an interesting ally when used properly, Miasma lowers enemy hit chance by 50% and Renegade dodges a lot of attacks without such amazing support. I’ve personally beaten many challenge bosses with only two other people using this method (only bosses who don’t use skills, though). Lastly, although Renegade shouldn’t be taking many hits, class that mitigate damage like Berserker and Necromancer are always appreciated in a crowd.
