Glacial Warlord

Suggested Enhancements

Warrior

Skills

AutoAttack

Powerful Blows
Rank Needed: 0
Mana Cost: 0 Mana
Cooldown: 2.75 Seconds
Type: Physical
Description:  The Glacial Warlord's attacks strike with full force but takes longer to build up power. Glacial Warlords deal more damage than anyone else on the battlefield.

The Auto Attack may seem slow. That’s because it is. It’s also worth the wait, especially once you add all your other skills into the mix. STRIKE WITH THE POWER OF A MIGHTY GLACIER!

Pummel

Pummel
Rank Needed: 1
Mana Cost: 7 Mana
Cooldown: 4 Seconds
Type: Physical
Description: Strike your opponent for moderate damage with a chance to grant Frozen Heart on yourself for 6 seconds. Frozen Heart increases your hit and critical strike chance, haste and damage taken.

This skill’s damage is about 85% what one of your Powerful Blows would cause, which is pretty good. If you land this move, you have a 60% chance of earning Frozen Heart. Frozen Heart will allow you to SERVE CHILLING PUNISHMENT TO YOUR FOES more effectively at the cost of taking 10% more damage while it is active. You’ll see later on that this drawback is quite easily overcome.

Chilling Blow

Chilling Blow
Rank Needed: 2
Mana Cost: 40 Mana
Cooldown: 28 Seconds
Type: Physical
Description: Stun your opponent for 3 seconds. If you have Frozen Heart, it applies Bone Chill, lowering your target's haste for 15 seconds.

About 30% the damage of a Powerful Blow, otherwise the skill is exactly as it says in the description. Unless you need that stun right away, you should activate Frozen Heart first.

Frostbite

Frostbite
Rank Needed: 3
Mana Cost: 22 Mana
Cooldown: 15 Seconds
Type: Physical
Description: Deals moderate damage. If you have Frozen Heart, it applies Frostbite, making your target vulnerable to physical damage for 20 seconds.

The same level of power as a single Powerful Blow. That’s good, but not worth 22 mana, so use this when Frozen Heart is on! Frostbite will cause the target to take 20% more damage from physical attacks. You’ll shatter foes with your Powerful Blows alone!

Warcry

Warcry
Rank Needed: 5
Mana Cost: 10 Mana
Cooldown: 21 Seconds
Type: Physical
Description: An invigorating shout healing the Glacial Warlord and his soldiers. Heals you and up to 5 allies if Frozen Heart is NOT present. If Frozen Heart is present, only heals you or an ally plus an increased amount over time.

I’d like to say it’s the wintery freshness of your breath that heals your enemies, but when you eat lesser warriors for breakfast chances are your breath isn’t pleasant. With this skill, you have a choice. You can pick up the slack for your team once in a while by using this without Frozen Heart. When Frozen Heart IS present, you heal only one target, who also gets 10 seconds of Healing over Time. Whether you use this on yourself or a friendly player is your choice.

Passive Abilities

Passive

Heavy Armor Expertise
Rank Needed: 4
Type: Passive
Description: Physical Damage received reduced by 30%

Means anything that isn’t a spell generally doesn’t harm you very much. Even when Frozen Heart is active, you still take 20% less damage from things like Swords or Axes to the face

Passive

Strong Arm
Rank Needed: 4
Type: Passive
Description: Strength increased by 30% and Luck decreased by 25%

Assists you with putting things like Swords or Axes in your enemies’ faces. The Glacial Warlord is unique in that they do not use Luck to deal their damage. Forget using Lucky enhancements just this once.
Passive

Skull Crusher
Rank Needed: 10
Type: Passive
Description: The force of each Powerful Blow has a chance to crush your opponent’s skull dealing massive damage.

Upon each strike of Powerful Blows you have a 5% chance to trigger SKULL CRUSHER!! ...Which doubles your power for a very short time. Just enough time to throw out most of your skills if you’re using hotkeys. But be warned: If Skull Crusher activates and you don’t have Frozen Heart, you must choose whether you want immediate damage or the more valuable effects that Chilling Blow and Frostbite can give.

Glacial Warlord is both a single-target heavy-hitter and decent support, making it ideal for solo play or in a group meant to take down bosses. The biggest drawback is the reliance on Frozen Heart; If you fail to land Pummel or Frozen Heart doesn’t happen when you need it, you may find yourself struggling. The healing is pretty good, but a long cooldown means sometimes you’d rather wait until Skull Crusher happens so that you heal for twice as much.

Recommended Allies!

Classes that can heal are everyone’s friend, of course. In particular Glacial Warlord and Alpha Omega work very well together. Glacial Warlord and Alpha Omega (or Alpha DOOMega, if you have it) Both have strong physical skills, a stun, and methods of healing. If the Glacial Warlord manages to apply Frostbite to the common target, this duo is terrifying to face. Other allies fit for GW are any classes that can buff haste. Bard can buff haste while providing a variety of other support. A TimeKiller can use their Compress Time skill to heal, boost your haste and replenish your mana.
