The ArcAttack Shocking Musical Event
Join us for a special AQWorlds in-game special event with musical guest-star band, ArcAttack. This band literally uses lightning to create their music! They are currently using incredible amounts of power to perform experiments in DoomWood (FOR SCIENCE!) and have gained the attention of the unstoppable PaladinSlayer, Vordred. We know Vordred is plotting to wipe our world into an empty undead wasteland... and if this is part of his plan, we have little time to stop him! Join us on July 22nd 2011, at sundown (HAPPENING NOW!) for the the most shocking event of the summer... which will lead up to the DOOMWOOD FINALE!!!

The crew of ArcAttack gets credit for creating the original singing Tesla Coils. Two custom engineered hand built Tesla Coils throw out electrical arcs up to twelve feet long, each one acting as an instrument with a sound reminiscent of the early days of the synthesizer. A robotic drum set accompanies the spectacle, it's high power LED's flashing bright colors with the stroke of each mechanically actuated stick, while ArcAttack's six members churn out rhythmic instrumental melodies. Live instruments meet drum loops and samples to produce rock, electronica and indie with a splash of punk and a dash of metal served with a side of pop. During the show, the MC engages both the crowd and the Tesla Coils by walking through ½ Million Volt sparks wearing the relatively thin layer of his chain mail Faraday suit. This high power performance is unique in it's elements and energy, being at the same time mesmerizing and energetically thrilling.

THE ARCATTACK EVENT BEGINS!
The event is now live on all servers! The staff will be online checking for problems. Once again we would like to thank ArcAttack for being a part of this special musical in-game DoomWood storyline event! During the Q&A session we learned that ArcAttack actually created the Tesla Coil sounds that they used in the movie The Sorcerrers apprentice... how cool is that!?

We checked in with the band and everything is on schedule! The pre-event area should be online at 4:30pm EST and the band will be present to do some Q&A. I am going to do a functionality rehersal with Yorumi (Our new AQWorlds coder - Minmal's apprentice who has been making our new classes and map coding) Alina is sitting at the other end of the table doing the final push to get all the items ready with descriptions and the acheivement ready for the event. The new artwork was done by Cysero, J6, Dage, Nulgath, Tekksin (intern), and Mennace. If you have ever wondered how we get the energy to do releases of this size... every single week... without fail... read this serious letter that we received from a player two days ago. The irony is that it is HE who is giving US the strength to go on no matter how tough it gets. I would like to thank this player and all of the wonderful players who write us words of inspiration to keep making our games better each week. Battle on!

THE LETTER
Earlier today I recieved this super elegant fancy love-letter looking PRIVATE hand written envelope addressed to me, here at the lab. I opened it.... what in the!? Needles to say, our small, friendly committed team of indie game developers will politely be responding NOOOOOOOOoooooo thank you. This is primarily due to the other mail we get from actual players who truely love what we do and how much effort we put into it. I would like to post one of these letters for you. Warning... this one is a bit of a tear jerker. I am getting out my trusty blur tool and will be posting it in 30 minutes for you along with an ARCATTACK update.

The Pony stuff around here has really been getting out of control. I have been finding Pony related files on some of our development servers created by staff. I am getting the suspicion that Rolith and Jemini are up to something.... BIG. I recognized Jemini's drawing and coloring style on this piece of pony art. (Some players thought it was Thyton -- which was a good guess since Jemini colors a lot of Thyton's work.) I do not think the anti-pony code that we secretly embedded into the AQWorlds homepage will be able to hold off what is coming... you do know the secret code... right? It is the Konomi code. How to: Refresh the AQWorlds www.AQ.com homepage. Then, press: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, B, A. (This is not a joke an actually works. But it can be tricky to get to work depending on your browser.) Meanwhile... at 2pm I will be posting the letter. Feel free to post on Twitter what you THINK the letter was. With only 3 hours left until we meet with the band this is getting really exciting! The team is creating a soundboard of audio out-takes which will be added to the things available in the Legend-only bonus zone. Also, in that area you can take a screenshot with your character in the faraday cage, the band, and access a special shop. A lot of players have been suggesting tesla coil house items... we are going to ask the band if they will let us do it. (Since we need to use the songs or the tesla coils will not fire.)

Things are going scarily on schedule for the ArcAttack release (and those of you who have been with us before know... this means something must be seriously wrong.) We have actually had a lot of unrelated technical problems since last Sunday. Maybe you could help me with a system wide game check? All you need to do is log on to everything that we have that you can log onto... once each... and make sure everything completely loads: AQWorlds, HeroSmash, EpicDuel, MechQuest, AdventureQuest, and DragonFable. If you find something wrong/malfunctoining please let me know using any of the communication methods above.
Here are some armors and items coming in tonight's event that you will be able to collect. The drops and the things in the bonus Legend Area will be permanent. The things in the Event Rare shop will be going rare... so get the rares before the shop closes!

We have collage of the armors, weapons, mad scientist helms that will be posted shortly with tonight's musical event shortly. The game code for the event is looking good and the cutscenes are... omg... really?! Done! (Go SAMBA! Samba is our newest animator on the AQWorlds team and has been doing almost all of the cutscenes in DoomWood and all of the cutscenes for this event. I am becoming a huge fan of her work.) As for the letter.. I just need a few more minutes with the photoshop blur tool.

WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!?!? OK... I opened the letter. You are never going to believe what it is. (For the record, if it was a awesome and kind letter from a player I would have shared because it would have been cool, if it was a deep personal letter I would not have posted it, but would have responded to it kindly which would have ben cool. However... this is D.) None of the above. I was truly caught off guard and taking a picture to post.

Did you see the post on Warlic's Tesla Coil Replicator? Recreating the experience of one of their live shows is hard because we cannot program yor computer to make your hair stand up on end, LOL -- but this is pretty cool!
