When you look in a mirror, do you simply see light bouncing off a reflective surface showing you whatever images are carried to your eye from that angle by the reflected wavicles of photons...
...or do you see a doorway to another world?
 There's no telling what you'll find behind the mirror!
The Mirror Realm is a backwards world where everything is flipped in SOME way but not every way. It could be a simple as someone being right handed there where they are left handed in our world, or it could be a significant as a kindly and noble king on this side being reflected as the absolute power for evil on the other side.

Mirror Drakath has been chosen as the Champion of Order and has been gathering his powerful Lords of order to help him bring order to a world torn in hand by a war between good and evil. Just like Drakath in this world, he is unimaginably powerful but even as powerful as the Drakaths are... there is one to balance the other one.
You are unique. There is no version of you in the Mirror Realm. As your great actions in this reality have begun to change the story the multiverse has become unbalanced without an opposite power changing the world in the Mirror Realm and that is VERY dangerous.
Mirror Moglins want to HURT you, not HEAL you!
Like your own natural defenses attacking an invading virus causing imbalance in the body, the multiverse has begun to react to the imbalance caused by you. Mirror Drakath has begun to sense movement in the multiverse and he has come to this side to help you escape the fate of being erased from reality.

This is Part 1 of a two part return to the Mirror Realm. For the last 2 weeks Quibble has been trying his best to use his connections to bring you gear that you'll need to prepare yourself for crossing over and he has added a few more items this week including:

- Groundforce Uniform (reflected Skyguard Uniform)

kcoS | The Mirror Realm is Calling You Back.
Many of you were not here for the 2010 AQW Birthday Event, hosted by Paul and Storm with special musical guest Jonathan Coulton (which was amazing).
You can read a little bit about the fun we had HERE and you will also be able to re-watch the cutscenes from the event in the new Mirror Realm event starting TOMORROW! Before you cross over to the crazy backwards town of Battleoff (where Aria is a butcher, Warlic is a dim-witted scientist and Alina is a short-tempered poison mistress... and a blonde) there are some things that you need to know.
In this strange reflection of our own existence Drakath is gathering the Lords of Order to help him fight the powerful darkness sweeping across the land. Gravelyn The Good leads the Lightscythe army from her palace in Brightfall, while evil King Alteon the Imbalanced threatens to destroy everything with the crushing force of his undead army.
Crossing over to the Mirror Realm (or them coming here) takes an enormous amount of power and whatever crosses has to trade places with its reflection, unless you come from OUTSIDE the Multiverse (like Paul & Storm, the interdimensional bards) or you are you.
You are very special. For an unknown reason there is no reflection of you so crossing over takes much less energy. Unfortunately this has tipped the scales of dimensional balance and as you have grown in power, the imbalance has become greater and greater.
In such cases the multiverse can heal itself by removing the problem and erasing you from ever having existed in space-time. Your good friend, Drakath (the one from the other side) has not forgotten what you did for him and his friends on your last visit and will stop at nothing to help you find some way to balance your existence in his universe... but what could possibly balance out the vast effects that you've had in your own reality?

Sock Titan | The Blood Titan Arrives Friday!

How, When and Where To get Your Blood Titan Class
The class arrives Friday and there will be 2 ways to get it.
- Members can farm for 450 Blood Titan Tokens then but the class from the merge shop which will be on the Shi Mar character who will be found in /join bloodtitan. The farmable version will be 0ACs for free storage in your bank.
- Everyone else will be able to buy the Class from the Class shop found in your Dragon Menu (Shops Section) or your Book of Lore for the standard price of 2000 ACs.
I'm A Member. How Do I Get Tokens?
Right now there is only one way to get Blood Titan Tokens. They are drops off of the Blood Titan and Ultra Blood Titan monsters in /join bloodtitan. Friday we will be adding another way to farm tokens too. Members will be able to complete repeatable quests on the Shi Mar character which will reward you with anywhere from 1 to 25 tokens at random!
BLOOD TITAN CLASS SKILLS BREAKDOWN
This class is VERY tanky. It can do some damage but the concept behind it is survivability. It was built to last. The skill concepts come from one of our very useful balance testers, Dmage12 (thanks!). If you feel like your main class is too squishy, like your fights don't last mong enough or your guild needs a serious tank for boss fights then this the class for you. It has all the power and elegance of an 18 wheeler driving through a Walmart.
This class is built on the Warrior mana regen model so the more damage you take the more mana you get. I would strongly suggest using Warrior Enhancements, but as always I'm interested to see what builds you guys come up with in the game and on the forums.
 AUTO ATTACK
2 second cooldown
A strong attack known only to disciplined fighters.
K'POWZA!
 LIFE DRINKER
12 mana, 3 second cooldown
This attack causes light to moderate damage based on the difference between your MAX and CURRENT HP. The Weaker you are, the harder you hit. Also saps some of your foe's life and and heals you.
VERY fast, Low mana cost = spammable heal. You will be using this a LOT. It's so cheap that you probably won't think that you'd run out of mana (especially since this is the only skill that uses mana) but you use it enough that you might want to keep an eye on that.
Also, keep in mind the the lower your life is the bigger the damage you do and the bigger the heal gets.
 BLOOD FURY
10% total HP, 10 second cooldown
Consume some of your own life essence (HP) to do moderate damage to your foe as well as briefly increasing your damage and speed.
A moderate damage attack with a decent buff to your DAMAGE and HASTE. The thing to note is that this and all the other BT skills from this point consume HP instead of mana.
 CRIMSON SHIELD
20% total HP, 12 second cooldown
Consumes a fifth of your life to greatly increase your damage resistance for 8 seconds. If you have a monster targeted it will also force them to attack only you for 5 seconds.
This is a GREAT skill, period.
It takes a good chunk of your life and does no damage to your enemy but gives you a TITANIC 75% damage resist buff for 8 seconds.
Think about that for a second.
You're reducing a 2K crit against you to only 500 HP! In addition to that it has a Taunt effect that grabs monster (not Player) aggro for 5 seconds! That means that you smack the monster in the face and keep him off of your less durable friends and guildmates. This skill is what makes BT a true tank.
 FORTIFIED BLOOD & BLOOD VOLUME
Rank 4 passives
Damage resist Increased by 10%
Endurance increased by 10%
A base 10% damage resist added across the board and 10% Endruance boost means more HP for you to eat.
 BLOOD THIEF
33% total HP, 16 second cooldown
This high damage attack consumes a third of your life and greatly reduces your target's damage resistance and speed, while increasing your damage resistance and damage output for 10 seconds.
If you kill yourself by eating too much of your own HP (you can kill yourself with this class), this is the skill that you will use to do it. It does a decent amount of damage, makes the target extra squishy (Let your team know when you're about to use it so they can pour on their nukes while its weakened) and slows them down while making you stronger AND increasing your damage resist another 35%!
Let's get mathmatical. If you use Crimson Shield (75% Damage Resist) and this skill (35% Damage Resist) plus your 10% Damage Resist from Fortified Blood, you get a grand total of 120% Damage resist. That means that in the short span of time when you have both powers active you will get HEALED from enemies attacks! It will look a little like this.
It's not huge heal but you ARE actually getting HP back from being attacked. Now THAT is a tank!
TITANIC BLOODLINE
Rank 10 passive
Once in a great while, you tap the full potential of your powerful blood and greatly increase your damage output, damage resistance and haste for a short time.
Does exactly what it says. For a short time you become SUPERTANK!
When playing this class you will be tempted to try and full heal yourself. It's important to remember that this is notht eh point of the class. The point is to NOT reach 0 health which is distinctly different.

Blue Sock | Set Yourself Apart
Members get special blue names now.
Why?
Just another Member Only Perk to set Members apart from everyone else. HeroSmash did it a very long time ago... OverSoul Founders get special colored names (they don't have a Membership option) and people have requested special Member Only colored names for a very long time. Today we found a few spare minute to knock this one off of the giant AQW TO-DO LIST.
We are also adding a slight black outline to Member Names as well to help see them a little better.

Glowing Sock | What Lies Beneath?
Magic.
It's the lifeblood of the world. The mysterious force that allows people (and some other things) to bend the forces of nature to their will... to weave reality into whatever shape they wish.
 Including shaping yourself out of pure mana!
There are many different sources of magic but mana mostly flows from the para-elemental plane of magic into lore's core where it flows to the surface and wraps the world in a web of ley lines, or invisible rivers of magical energy that flow from place to place.
Normally the ley lines are constant as the rising of the sun but something has begun deep beneath the suraface of Lore that has cause the ley lines to drift. If this continues, magic fields all over Lore will begin to destabilize causing unpredictable magical effects and disasters of a global scale.
Speak to Warlic in the Magic Shoppe in Battleontown to begin your Journey to the center of Lore!
In this release you will find an event Rare Shop full of amazing, Center-Of-Lore themed items that will only last for a limited time and an unlockble Adventure Shop full of cool gear that you can only get by completing the story.
Since we made this release in our continuing effort to develop New Battleon, most of you won't find it to be too much of a challenge (pretty low level for new players) but the gear is great, there's still for Members as well as non-members and it's a pretty entertaining story!

Helper Sock | Thanks For All Of Your Help
This weekend AQW encountered a very large problem. We started getting lots of reports of people being unable to start brand new accounts. As you might know, AQW needs players to keep it going and the more we have the better we do so when there's a bug that stops being from being able to create free accounts, we take it VERY seriously.
Being the generally awesome group of people that you are, you jumped up and began volunteering useful information, a few of you even taking movies of the account creation not working which was great but we were still unable to narrow down the cause of the problem.
One player who was having the issue struck me as both a native English speaker and very mature and well spoken (all traits that we need when testing for bugs). I asked if he was willing to hop on to AQW and help Captain Rhubarb track down the issue and he did.
While many of you volunteered the same information as this guy, he sat in a room with Cap and I for many hours, testing link after link, opening up his browser's networking panel and reading us the output as Cap tried to figure out what the source of this bug was.
This player asked for no kind of reward and expected nothing in return for sitting in a private room and being our test subject for hours after numb-numbing hour. He has a live. He could have gotten bored or tired and we would have understood but he was a trooper and kept working with us deep into the night until his services were no longer required and Cap and put a temporary fix in until he could patch the issue.
He was such a great sport that I offered to do something for him to thank him for his hard work. He is already a Member with plenty of ACs and several thousand Artix points just waiting to be spent so I asked if there was a rare that I could give him as a thank you.
He asked if Dark Caster was too much. I told him that I was sorry but it was. It would be unfair to everyone who entered the SUATMR contest to just magic one into existence for him when we were scavenging used ones from our own accounts for the winners. It couldn't come from that list.
Finally, he asked if I might be able to give him the Oblivion Blade of Nulgath pet, which I was happy to do.
It's not the first time that a Dev has awarded a player for helping us in some respect and it won't be the last (not that we give a gift to EVERY person who helps us, either.), but there seem to be lots and lots of people on the forums and on Twitter who either think that this player did not deserve an award or that they ALSO deserved an award. To those people I offer this:
- To those who think he did not deserve a this treatment... I'm not sure what you think that but you really don't have any idea what he did to earn it our how much he helped us out. Whomever we ask to help us and what we offer them, if anything, to thank them is our call.
- To all those who think they should also get something... part of the reason that I was willing to offer him a thank you was that he never asked for anything in return and nor indicated in any way that he expected something. He was willing to help just to help fix the game, and we are very grateful for that kind of selfless appreciation of AQW. Again, I want to thank everyone who tried to provide us info about the bug but he ended up being immeasurably helpful in testing this thing.
We move at a very rapid pace at AE. One of the prices that we pay for releasing new playable content just about every week of the year is that we don't get to test as much as we'd like and we end up with quite a large bugs list. We are grateful for every single bug report that we get and we consider you all testers to some degree but please don't be a hater when it comes to someone who was in the right place at the right time with the tools and the talent to help us out.

He's been playing AQW since 2011 but was a DF DragonLord before that and has been an AQW Member for quite a while. He selected the original Dark Caster armor as his prize and even though he was in considerable pain (had some dental work done that earlier that day) we had a lot of fun hanging out.
I answered a few of his questions, forced Faith and Syra from HeromMart to both PERSONALLY check on the status of his Artists of Artix Sketchbook order status, then we PvP'd a little and he got to see just exactly how amazingly cheap my personal Cysero class really is.

Passsock | It's Time To Change Your Passwords
There have been a new round of brute force hacks going around trying to pry their way into accounts, so we are just about to increase our security again. This is a good time to talk about account security.
There are only 4 ways that someone can get into your account.
- You share it. If more than one person has access to your account then then chances of you losing the account are very high, even if it's your best friend, brother or sister. AQW accounts are free. They should just go make one.
- You give someone access. Maybe you saved your password at the cyber-cafe or library. Maybe you fell for some FREE ACs or FREE MEMBERSHIP site and entered your password when the fake site asked for it. Maybe you just have some brain disorder where you feel compelled to shout your passwords.
- You get a trojan or keylogger. It's not common but we've seen a few people make trainers or bots that will secretly install a small trojan on your system that will record your passwords (to AQW, e-mail, maybe even credit card numbers). It's one of the reasons we ask people not to bot.
- You have a rotten password and you get brute force hacked. This is the LEAST likely way to lose your account, currently but even so we are strengthening our counter measures. People can be pretty bad at making passwords and some hackers write programs that just try up to 1000 common passwords to see if they will work. Sometimes they do.
What is a GOOD Password?
It's pretty simple to make an unhackable password. Make it long (10 characters is good). Use numbers, letters AND special characters (!@#$%^&*). Use some capital letters and some lower case letters. Avoid ANYTHING that has anything to do with whatever you're making a password for

Alina Note: Do NOT use these examples as YOUR password, because they are easy to steal! Make up your own like them, but different! :)
What is a BAD Password?
Here are examples of passwords to avoid.

- 111111
- secret
- password
- god
- love
- Ilove (your friends could easily hack you)
Alina Note: Do not use THESE examples as your password, because they are easier to steal! Make your passwords like the good examples in the previous section, but different! :)
What Else Can I do?
Avoid Scammers. Scammers are people who lie to you to try and get your information. They might threaten to hack you inf you don't give them your password (which is really stupid if you think about it). They might lie to you. They might say they will give you something like ACs or a Membership or they might say they want to trade.
Examples of scammers.
DougBigBoy1: Hey, I'm Artix. I'll make you a mod if you tell me your password
You: It says your name is "DougBigBoy1".
DougBigBoy1: Yeah, this is my secret Mod account.
You: XD You're an idiot. (report them)
LouisPhillipe1: Hello, I am the King of France. Want to trade accounts? I have Alpha Pirate.
You: (quick check on Wikipedia) France hasn't had a king since 1848. You're an idiot. (report them)
Remember that there are LOTS of scammers on FaceBook and Twitter too. Use THIS has a handy guide and remember that AE staff will NEVER ASK FOR YOUR PASSWORD.
You should also make sure that your AQW e-mail is up to date and registered with us. If something DOES happen to your account it will make it a LOT easier for Player Support to put things right for you.

Chaos Lord Lionfang!
Today you get to face Chaos Lord Lionfang!
He's got the Darkblood Weapon against Chaos and he plans to use it on Drakath. His plan? Take out Drakath to solidify his own Chaos Power then use that power to destroy all evil all over Lore. Unfortunately we know that the weapon won't work against Drakath AND that Chaos Lord Lionfang wasn't quite right in the head BEFORE he became chaorrupted.
You have been entrusted with the sacred Darkblood relic and your only chance to stop is from being wasted on Drakath is to face Lionfang and take it back before it's too late.
As usual, Lionfang will drop a Member Only version of his own Chaos Lord Armor and helm...
as well as a few other member and non-member items.

Darkblood StormKing Class
Each new area we release usually comes with a class that you can unlock by reaching rank 10 in that area's reputation faction. Today we release the thunderforge Rep class... the Darkblood StormKing!
You can get the class one of two ways.
- Reach rank 10 Thunderforge reputation and drop a lot of gold to unlick the class.
- Open the Class Shop (Shops button in Game Menu, Ragnar in Battleon or Book of Lore) and pay 2000 AdventureCoins for the AC version if you don't feel like doing the repeatable rep quests in the Darkblood city of Falguard.

Spring Seasonal Shop Opens
The Seasonal Key shop in Twilly has changed! The lock has melted and the Ice Token will not longer give you access to the rares! Now you will need to purchase the Storm Token from Twilly to open this shop until for a limited time.
This shop now contains:
- ThunderBolt Striker Armor (animated)
- ThunderHorn Helm
- Lightning Slasher
- DaggerDual Lightning Slashers
- Electric Storm Cape! (animated)
Remember that once the storms of spring pass and the lock heats up these items will go rare and get replaced by the summer seasonal items!

Sunday Aria begins her series of pet egg quests. For a limited time Aria will sell you rare monster eggs (one Member & one Non-Member) and you will be able to do a number of repeatable quests to merge your egg and farming items into several different rare pets.

SockKing | The Thunderforge Rep Class Arrives Tomorrow!
The Darkblood have always lived in Thunderforge. The evil race has thrived beneath the never-ending thunderstorms that cover the region. Centuries before the city of Falguard was built, the tribes of Darkblood regularly went to war over the resources in the region. They kept coming up with new and inventive ways to destroy each other until finally one of the Darkblood elders found a way to magically bind the power and fury of Thunderforge's storms and use their might as weapons.
The Darkblood StormKing as born.
It takes a rare type of person to become a StormKing (the term also applies to females, there are no StormQueens). You have to have an affinity for magic, a close connection to the natural world and the will to enslave nature itelf to obey your commands.
How, When and Where To get Your StormKing Class
Tomorrow the Darkblood StormKing Class is being released. It will be in the Thunderforge Rep Shop in Falguard as well as in the Class Shop (Menu Shops Button, Ragnar NPC in Battleon or your Book of Lore). The reputation version, of course, requires rank 10 ThunderForge Rep and a healthy amount of gold and the AC version costs 2000 ACs. There are also a number of helms for males and females that match the set but these are only available in the Thunderforge Rep shop (Several Member Options, a few non-member and all require rank 10 rep).
DARKBLOOD STORMKING CLASS SKILLS BREAKDOWN
The class is a straight up caster so you will want the biggest and best Wizard Enh you can possibly grab. We've also done some tweaking with the way that this class works... since it's 100% caster we decided to make it's AUTO ATTACK damage dependant on Int too. In my case (level 50 with FULL Wiz Enh), this has resulted in DOUBLING my AA damage over most other classes. While that is fun and exciting it made balancing this class extra tough.
The mana costs may APPEAR a little high but with Mage Regen Model (mana back on hitting an enemy with an inversley proportional relationship to your HP) and Thunderclap you should be able to balance your mana flow if you don't button mash.
This is a thinking players class. You need to pay attention to play it well but once you master it you will be able to farm mobs, bosses or dominate in PvP.
AUTO ATTACK
2 second cooldown
A strong attack known only to disciplined fighters.
Remember. This class's AA Damage is tied to its INT so make sure that ALL of your gear is full of Wizard ENH and you won't be sorry.
 STORM CALL
20 mana, 3 second cooldown
You bring the power of the storm to bear against your enemy. Using this skill on enemies with Shocked applied will heal you until Shocked fades. You will regain mana when you use this skill on enemies who have Thunderstruck applied to them.
This already a decently strong attack without the special powers that come from Shocked or Thunderstruck. We'll cover those next.
 SKYFIRE
40 mana, 12 second cooldown
You channel the power of pure lightning through your hands and strike up to 3 enemies at once. Applies Shocked to all enemies hit. Shocked lasts for 10 seconds, will replace Thunderstruck and reduces affected enemies damage output.
I know what you're thinking but the mana and cooldown are NOT typos, although until you unlock the next skill you might want to equip some mana potions, just in case. This is one half of your heal skill. After you cast this be sure to take note which enemies you hit or miss, and focus on the ones you hit.
Once you hit an enemy they will have Shocked on them for 10 seconds. If you use Storm Call to hit a Shocked enemy you will get back a healthy amount of HP, and you can usually hit them 3 times before shocked fades. At level 50 with the right enh you will get back nearly 400 HP per hit, or 1200 in the 10 second duration.
On top of all of that this is also a very decent attack with a slight enemy debuff, which is always fun.
 THUNDERCLAP
40 mana, 12 second cooldown
You devastate your enemies with mighty boom of thunder, hitting up to 3 enemies at once and has a chance to stun them. Applies Thunderstruck to all enemies hit. Thunderstruck lasts for 10 second and will replace Shocked.
This is your other farming skill and it has a 50% chance of stunning anything that it hits (up to 3 monsters). It also applies Thunderstruck to anyone it hits. Again, you want to pay attention to who gets hit because when you use Storm Call on a Thunderstruck enemy, you get mana back on every hit (more than the mana you spend of Storm Call) until Thunderstruck fades.
This is where being smart really comes in. You will really have to be present and ware of the battle to decide if you want to hit them with Skyfire or Thunderclap. Sometimes, you need HP, sometimes mana and sometimes. Sometimes you could really use a stun and sometimes you just need to deal decent damage to the mob you've pulled.
Remember that a target can be Thunderstruck or Shocked, but never both at the same time. Choices, choices.
RAGING GALE & TEMPEST

Damage Output Increased by 10%
Critical chance increased by 10%
More damage is always good but the increased crit is rally the gem here. Read on to understand why.
 BALL LIGHTNING
90 mana, 12 second cooldown
Fires a Ball Lightning, The rarest form of naturally occurring lightning, at your enemy. This attack has an increased chance to crit and will do additional damage to any enemy who has either Shocked or Thunderstruck applied.
Yup, it pretty much drains all of your mana, and the cooldown is only 12 seconds so, again, you will need to decide when to use this and not just try and spam your nuke. PLAY SMART. In addition to being a decently high damage attack this skill has a naturally higher chance to crit, on top of the 10% crit boost you get from Tempest. You stand a pretty good chance of critting which will produce some nice, juicy orange numbers.
On top of THAT, you also get a damage boost from anything that is Shocked or Thunderstruck. It means that you will sacrifice at least one hit of Storm Call meaning you're giving up one shot of the secondary effect. Keep that in mind.
CRACKING SKY
Rank 10 passive
Once in a great while, you tap into the pure fury of Thunderforge's perpetual storm and deal massive damage to your enemy.
Randomly hit your target for HUGE numbers, as other skills in the past have done. It's not something you can count on but it IS a nice treat when it happens.
I probably made StormKing sound a lot more complicated than it actually is, but you guys were asking for a class that could farm or go solo against bosses with a lot of interplay between the skills and we did our best ti give you that. Have fun with it.

Sockicore | Chaos Lord Lionfang's Chaos Beast
Lionfang has set up his new base of operations in the area of Thunderforge known as the Venom Vaults. This mountain keep was once home to a mad prince who kept manticores as pets which is suicidally dangerous. Now the Chaonslaught soldiers prowl the halls while in the locked courtyard, Chaos Lord Lionfang has been training (and empowering) his Chaos Beast to ravage the face of Thunderforge attacking Darkblood and Gravelyn's soldiers from the skies.
The Darkblood weapon against chaos is now yours to use but will you use it against Lionfang or to save king Alteon? Either way you will find yourself at the gates of the Venom Vaults with Sir Valence of Swordhaven's Pactogonal Knights who has been charged with keeping tabs in Lionfang in his new base.
The Chaos Beast has a number of Member Only drops and Sir Valence has a shop with Dage's Manticore Assassin set inside...
But in a unique challenge, you will be given the opportunity to storm Lionfang's treasure vault where you will find chest after chest filled with NON-MEMBER armors, weapons, helms, cloaks and wings, all of which can be stored for free (they are all 0 ACs). The only catch is that you need the Treasure Vault KEY which Lionfang has placed on his pet... the Chaos manticore. Check the pictures below for some examples of what you'll find inside.
Game Menu Button
To help keep up to date with the latest releases we have added the ability to open the game menu (normally in Battneon only) from anywhere in the game. All you need to do is press the small treasure chest button now found next to your backpack button on the game's interface frame.

New Battleon Continues To Grow
The Museum will be open for business starting tonight!
You will be able to collect statues of the Chaos Beasts by completing the quests to new museum defeat them. This is only the start of the new museum quests. Many more will be added as the museum keeps growing along with new Battleon.
The best part of the new museum is that you can find buttons that will take you DIRECTLY to the chaos beasts* (unless you haven't gotten to that part of the quest chain. In which case it will take you to the start of the chain).
* To go on the 1st Chaos Beast quest in /museum if you've already beaten that Beast, click the statue all the way to the left and it will take you straight there.

Micro Sock | This Friday It's Dwarves Vs. Giants
The stars of Hulk Hogan's Micro Championship Wrestling will be coming to AQWorlds this Friday in a special crossover event!
Sampson, Jersey Jess, Blixx, Meatball, Huggy Cub and Johnny "G" Greene will star in a special event as the dwarven mercenary group the Dwarven Champions Guild who are finally going to settle a long-standing rivalry with a group of giants in the new Battleon Battle Coliseum!
We first met the "Superstars of Midget Wrestling" when they put on a command performance for Rolith's bachelor party as detailed by Artix. Not only did they put on the show of a lifetime but they were kind enough to invite us into the ring and gave a few pointers on how to take a bump and make it look pro.
We were totally blown away by the amount of energy and heart these men and women displayed in the ring and how fun and friendly they were outside of it. After the show, while we helped them break down the ring, we began making plans to join forces.
THIS FRIDAY in AQW you will get to fight beside these warriors of the wrestling world while they attend MegaCon in Orlando this weekend and put on daily shows for crowds of thousands attending the convention. If you happen to be going to the convention you might also run into Artix, Galanoth, Alina, Memet, Rolith, Nythera, Diozz, Syra, Stryche and Roam! The much despised Chairman Platinum of EbilCorp should also be attending and causing trouble.
This event will feature a rare shop full of theme items but the event will be a permanent addition to the Battle Coliseum!

Sock The Evil | New Weapons From The Master Of The Legion
Dage continues his birthday celebration with all new items! With the massive influx of souls to fuel Dage The Evil's SoulForge, he has forged several impressive new weapons.
 You can find the Unholy Scythe Of Despair amd the Legion Soul Vessel staff in Dage's Birthday Rares shop. As the name suggests, these will be going rare with the rest of the shop when it leaves. Three new weapons have also been added to the SoulForge itself for members of the Undead Legion.
While the Legion Spine Shanks and the Legion Horrid Cleaver are permanent additions to the SoulForge, the Legion Skull Collector battle-axe will be going rare.

SockForge | The Death Pits Await You!
Chaos Lord Lionfang is still searching for the one item that might serve as a weapon against Chaos and he's letting nothing stand in his way. He has discovered that the Darkblood relic called the Tears Of The Mother has been hidden at the bottom of the Darkblood Death Pits and now it's a race to reach the relic.
Since the beginning of history the various Darkblood tribes of Thunderforge waged war with each other for the precious Rotstone mines which became known as the Death Pits. They would toss their captives down into the poisonous mines and work them to death.
Once the tribes came together and built Falguard, uniting all the Darkblood under one Primarch, they continued the practice sending out slavers to capture humans, horcs and other creatures to do their mining for them.
Now the Death Pits are haunted by the memories of a thousand, thousand lost souls. The walls and floors are littered with the bones of the dead (and undead). This dark, bleak hole in the earth is where the Primarch has hidden the Tears of the Mother and sent Logash to protect them.
If you survive the journey to the bottm of the Death Pits, great treasures await you un the form of an unlockable shop and several monster drops for Members and non-members alike.

Flip-Flop Sock (but NEVER at the same time) | No, You Can't Be A Mod (Shirt)
As you probably know, LOTS of people ask to be made into Mods. Most of them don't know the secret to becoming a Mod. They don't really even know what they are asking for since most of them want to be Devs instead of Mods, but it's simpler to lump us all together.
A few years ago I got asked so much that I went to a t-shirt store in the mall and had a shirt made saying "No, you can't be a Mod" so I could wear it to DragonCon and save me answering people there.
Now, years later, people are STILL asking so we've decided to make the shirt for HeroMart so you can spread the word. The cool thing about the shirt is that it's such an inside joke that most people will just read it and wonder what it means, but those who get it will laugh.
The shirt, available now on HEROMART.COM, comes in your choice of Green (like the original) or Black (like the empty bits in space). It comes with the Not A Mod Shirt Achievement Badge for your character page and THREE in-game items.
- Li'l Cysero Non-Member Pet. He dances along beside your character but will, from time to time, point and laugh at you, the player.
- A Tasty Muffin. It's technically a sword with a pretty wide damage range. Why is it a muffin? I felt like having a muffin when i made it (A player suggested that a muffin would go well with the coffee mug potions)
- The NOT A MOD Class: It's not too fancy, just like not being a Mod.
Most of the questions I've been getting are about the class and how awesome it is.
It isn't. If it were awesome it would be the Yes, You Can Be A Mod shirt. It's a silly class just like the other items. At least that was the idea. As it turns out, it kind of does rule.
NOT A MOD CLASS SKILLS BREAKDOWN
It's got jeans and flip-flops, just like me (in real life). It's a very simple single target, Warrior based class and i had a LOT of fun with the skills (even the icons). The whole concept of the Not A Mod class is just being a normal gamer, instead of a hero with a great destiny or an all-powerful game Mod.
AUTO ATTACK
2 second cooldown
A strong attack known only to disciplined fighters.
 REASONABLE STRIKE
10 mana, 4 second cooldown
This is a completely average hit which does perfectly normal damage.
You're not a mod. What were you expecting? Super powers? LAWLZ.
 BUTTON MASH
15 mana, 6 second cooldown
You really have no clue what you're doing. Just hit some buttons and hope something works. Does slightly higher than average damage with a higher than average chance to crit.
I'm a gamer but i have all kinds of friends. I'm sure you have one like this. They don't play games and when they try they look like a duck trying to land a 747. They don't actually use the controller to play the game, they just randomly mash buttons in a frenzy. The thing is... somehow, this often works. Especially for non-gamer girls who play fighting games. Don't ask me why.
This is the first single skill that has a higher chance to crit than others without consuming any kind of stack. (not counting guaranteed crit skills).
 FREAK OUT
15 mana, 10 second cooldown
You're probably fighting a monster. Why wouldn't you panic? Doubles haste so you can flap your hands at the thing for a while.
If you found yourself really transported into AQW, then came face to face with a real dragon... do you think you'd actually fight it? Are you mental? You'd flip out, maybe faint and almost certainly need a change of pants.
This a cheap haste boost that you can basiclly spam. Love it.
FIGHT RESPONSE & FLIGHT RESPONSE

Damage Output Increased by 10%
Haste increased by 10%
You get the benefits of both the Fight AND Flight responses at the same time. Lucky you!
 STORE BRAND PAIN KILLER
45 mana, 20 second cooldown
How do heroes handle all this fighting all the time? Take a few pills and you'll feel better. Casts a heal over time and reduces incoming damage for a little while.
Hero's get beat up a lot and just keep going like nothing happened. Normal people need aspirin when they stub their toes.
This is a nice HoT (Heal over time) and the damage resist buff is nice. 20 seconds may seem long until you realize how often you are using Freak Out which cuts your cooldowns.
DID YOUR HOMEWORK

After some online research you now know some weak spots on the stuff you're fighting. Increase Crit by 10%
Starting to get the hang of living in Lore after all your freaking out and hand flapping, are you? Just a solid crit buff. Can't complain about that.
The descriptions are silly but as it turns out this is a pretty decent single target class for boss farming or Group PvP. I wouldn't use it for 1V1 since it doesn't have a big alpha strike ability,

Beautiful Sock | Another Tutorial?
Yup. Why?
Because, while the first one was useful and informative, quite a few of the people we've had test it (none of whom have seen AQW before) thought there was too much to read and it was giving too much information at once. Looking at numbers, it wasn't really helping players get into the action. In the new attempt we decided to keep as simple as we could.
Mr. Clicky Hand helps you! (BTW the sword is found in this new tutorial adventure.)
We wanted to give new players a chance to learn the very basics of AQW. Moving, Fighting, Opening A Shop and Using An Item. We're going to see how this new version treats new players. If it does well then we might tweak it out a little. If it bombs then we try again and keep trying until we get something good. It was pretty weird writing cutscenes with no talking in them at all, but it helps sticking with a simple plot. A tower under attack, a mage in need and a HUGE black dragon to fight.
This is really for new players but you can find some pretty nice new weapons in the new tutorial so feel free to try it out and let us know what you think from a brand new players perspective.
Adventure Time?
One of the BEST things about AQ Classic is the random battle button that automatically takes you right into the action letting you fight stuff that is good for your level.
When I first started playing AQ Classic I spent about 4 hours just clicking that button over and over. It's about time we had something like that for new players. Enter the Random Adventure Button (Beta).
Dumoose spent rather a lot of his week building this smart button. It will (try to) take you to an area in the game that is good for your character, Most of you loyal players who play every release as soon as it comes out on Friday will have done all of this stuff but for people new to the game, or even people who are just trying to level their characters it will be a very fun little tool to play with it. You can try out the button in Battleon and let us know what you think. If you find any bugs remember to report them on our new Bug Tracker.
Beautiful Creatures Rare Shop
We're not sure if this has anything to do with the movie or not. Probably not. Nobody here has even seen a trailer for it but we naturally assumed it has something to do with red pandas.
Anyway, this gear is really great and it will only be in-game for a limited time so fee free to let your wild side out.
Boss Drop Hunt!
To celebrate the release of the Graveclaw cutscenes, we have put the Shattersword Pickaxes on a number of the hardest bosses in game! They will have a VERY low drop rate (less than 1%) and a VERY high sell back, AND they'll stay in-game permanently!
We're interested to see who can solve these clues and be the first to collect all 6! Here are your hints:
- Walk the seas of time and sand. Take your enemy's life in hand. Find the battle, hunt the prize. Graveclaw waits, but soon will rise.

- Music, madness, and memories sing when Graveclaw summons this Beast of a thing.
- A question never asked, an answer no one learns. Graveclaw will ally with the one who burns.
- Twists and turns to hide the truth. All locked inside a small, skewed cube?
Dage's Epic Birthday Shop!
Dage's birthday (March 2nd) is coming up and as usual he blowing the roof off of it.
Next Friday he will be moving from Shadowfall to the Underworld where he will have better access to the Soul Forge to use the spirits of his loyal followers to craft even more devastating weapons and armor. Last year's Paragon pet will NOT return, but he is crafting a NEW Pet for this year that will give access to some interesting stuff.

I know that I said last week would be the last buff, but the art team has a bad habit of topping their previous best. Next week The Tournament Rares Shop and Heroes Heart Day seasonal map and items will also be leaving on Wednesday.
If you haven't played the Battle Coliseum yet, don't worry. It's not going anywhere. Only the Tournament Rares shop will be going rare.
No Suggestion Shop Update
We were supposed to have a player Suggestion Shop update today but volunteer developer Vokun was struck down with a mysterious illness (probably the flu) so wasn't able to complete the update this week, but hopefully next week he will be feeling better and be able to return to providing AQW with great art. Get well soon, Vokun!

Mia J. Sock | A Tournament Of Champions For A Princesses Hand
Princess Brittany, eldest daughter of King Alteon and heir to the throne of Swordhaven is holding a Tournament of Heroes and the winner earn the right to court the lovely young princess.
Who will win the right to Princess Brittany's hand? Will it be the Desert Prince, The Silver Knight, The dashing Lord Brentan, The frigid Johan Wryce, the mysterious hooded Faceless Knight, the viscious Sir Roderick or one of the red-shirt knights who get taken out in the first cutscene?

The Alpha Omega Class
The EpicDuel imspired Alpha Omega class also drops tonight!
This class is only 1000 ACs (half price!) or Members can earn it through group PvP (some of the set items can be earned through 1v1 PvP too).
You will be able to buy the AC version from Ragnar's Class Shop (Or the Classes button in your Book of Lore) or get the Member earned version from Ragnar's Merge Shop.

Carnaval and Chinese New Year Stick Around
Chinese New Year and Carnaval are still here! Terra da Festa is a permenant addition to the game but the rare shop and Chinese New year will be leaving very soon so don't miss out on the celebration items that you like!

Sockmega | Tomorrow We Honor EpicDuel's OMEGA!
It's been months in development but the long wait is over and EpicDuel has launched their OMEGA release! They re-wrote more than half of their battle engine and turning the game on it's head. They have revamped everything from character creation to the very battle system that forms the core of the game.
Titan says it's been a roller coaster ride. People were excited at the announcement but it took far longer than expected so people got anxious and cranky, then it was released and people were FLIPPING OUT then started to notice a few bugs that were missed in testing. Soon ED plans to release it's second balancing patch and people are again excited to see what changes are coming to this game of blades, blood and bones.
In honor of their achievement, we are releasing the Alpha Omega Class tomorrow! The art was designed by ED's own Nightwraith and if you ask me it's one of the most impressive armors that we've seen in AQW.
Where Do I get It?
There will be a few ways that you will be able to get the class when we release it tomorrow.
- Members can earn the class by trading in 300 Combat Trophies from Bludrut Brawl to Ragnar in Battleon. He will have a new merge shop for classes as of tomorrow.
- Anyone can simply purchase the class for 1000 ACs (half-price from our normal classes) from Ragnar in Battleon, or from the Class Shop in your Book of Lore.
Now, let's get our hands dirty.
ALPHA OMEGA CLASS BREAKDOWN
First, don't let the name Alpha Omega mislead you. This is NOT a re-release of Alpha Pirate (as some people seem to think) and has nothing to do with the Alpha Testing Phase of any of AE's games. Alpha is the beginning. Omega is the ultimate end. This class was designed to finish any battle that it starts and it's as simple as that.
The skills for this class were originally inspired by the skills of the Mercenary from Epic Duel, and evolved from there. Our balance testers have said that it can take a lot of punishment but have no problem dishing it out in one-on-one battles. They have also said that it feels like one of the most well-rounded and multi-purpose classes we've released in a while.
The balance testers also say that LUCK Enhancements work best with this class, even though it's built on the Warrior mana regen model and does physical damage. Got a better build? Let us know on the forums!
AUTO ATTACK
2 second cooldown
A strong attack known only to disciplined fighters.
 DOUBLE STRIKE
15 mana, 1 second cooldown
Instantly attack twice, dealing extra damage.
Very simple. Anything you punch in the face get a bonus punch in the face ABSOLUTELY FREE!
 FIELD MEDIC
30 mana, 6 second cooldown
Heals a friendly target for a large amount immediately, and up to 3 additional nearby targets for a smaller amount. Applies Radiance to the first target, healing for an additional amount over 16 seconds, and restoring some mana to the caster when the target takes damage..
It's not a HUGE heal but it's a nice life-saver and you CAN cast it on yourself. It also buffs your mana for as long as the heal's effect, Glow, stays on you.
 MAUL
30 mana, 10 second cooldown
Strike and weaken an enemy by stunning them for 4 seconds.
Does damage and carries a guaranteed stun, which is always nice. Especially in PvP.
BLOOD SAPPER & OMEGA DEFENDER
Rank 4 passives
Damage Output Increased by 10%
Damage Resist increased by 10%
Hit harder and take less damage. Warrior based combat at its finest.
 BUNKER BUSTER
30 mana, 15 second cooldown
1 hit guaranteed to crit.
A guaranteed crit, every time. This skill is why I liked to play around with the ENH. If you already have one guarentted crit then ideally you want to make it stronger with STR but it's not the only skill that can crit and critical heals are REALLY NICE. Depends on your play style.
NANO ENHANCER
Rank 10 passive
Increases Haste by a 10%
I think this is the first time that we've had a rank 10 passive that was a flat stat boost like the rank 4's usually are, but rather than waiting for a 1/500 chance for a massive damage to go off, spead up all attacks and reduce all cooldowns making you do more damage overall. Again, you'll have to let us know what you think.
So there you have it. The class comes tomorrow along with ED's Valentines Event which features, amongst other things, 2 BRAND NEW CORES to play with so you probably want to check that one once you're done with AQW's release!

Sock Up | The First Round of SHUT UP AND TAKE MY RARES Is Over!
160,011 characters had the February Rares Raffle Ticket in their inventories or banks. We added 1 extra entry for every day of Membership remaining on Member accounts and 1 for ever AExtra completed since Jan 1, 2013.
With every entry accounted for by the computer we had it randomly select a list of people from the total entries. The first winner has been e-mailed. If they do not respond by 4:00 PM Friday then we will move on to the next person on the list.

Sockguard | Starting the AQW Power Weekend Right!
The Darkblood City of Falguard. Its great stone walls and massive oak doors have kept the secrets of the Darkblood safe for centuries... until now.
Months after mysteriously disappearing from Onslaught Tower, Archlord Lionfang has reappeard as Chaos Lord Lionfang and he is turning his chaorrupted army and startling new powers on the city of Falguard!
Join forces with Captain Madra of the Falguard Dreadwatch and safe as many of the Darkblood people from his wrath as you can. His powers are great, but if he unlocks the secret of the Darkblood weapon against Chaos then there will be no stopping him.
The city of Falguard features the Thunderforge Reputation Shop, Daily Rep Quests, repeatable rep grinding quests for Members, a Darkblood Weapon Shop, the Darkblood Armor shop and even the Darkblood Styalist for those of you who need your horns reshaped by Darkblood magic.
As always, this is just the beginning of the Reputation Shop. it will continue to be filled as the storyline unfolds before you.
AQW Power Weekend!
Welcome to new magical time we call the AQW Power Weekend!
Here's what you need to know.
- The Power Weekend runs from now until Monday around Noon, server time.
- Players can get DOUBLE XP on EVERY SERVER!
- Members can get slight MORE than DOUBLE XP on the MEMBER ONLY SERVERS.
- Members can also get DOUBLE REPUTATION on the MEMBER ONLY SERVERS.
It's as simple as that! This really is one weekend you don't want to miss out on.
MOD Birthday Shops!
This weekend it is Stratos and Vokun's Birthdays! Stratos is our Bug Hunter General as well as a holding a number of other positions in AE. Vokun is one of our newest volunteer developers on AQW's art team!
You can find Stratos's Birthday Shop in Battleon and Vokun;s in Shadowfall, but if you get lost just talk to Stratos in Battleon. His button should take you to Shadowfall!
We are getting reports that some of Vokun's birthday items are missing but we added everything that he sent us. He might have left a few items out of his show so we will add them as soon as we get them!

We added a big button to the Dragon's lair in battleon ebcause quite a few ne players had no idea that it was there. Just dropping some love on an old favorite.
The new Jade Samurai set has replaced the Golden Set that accomplanies the ONE YEAR UPGRADE. This set is ALSO Limited Time Only so grab it while it lasts!
Coming next week: Watch as a young King Alteon defeats Gravelclaw the Defiler, imprisoning him deep below the Forest of Chaos! Members will need to battle to the bottom of Shattersword Cavern to stop him from rising again!

Sockblood | Darkblood, Treasure Chests, MOD Birthdays and More!
This Friday the new Chaos Lord Lionfang saga continues in the Darkblood city of Falguard.
Captain Madra and one of her Falguard Dreadwatch Soldiers
This week you will enter the mysterious Darkblood city of FALGUARD, whose doors have remained closed to outsiders for years. The Darkblood Scroll has been translated and a newly empowered CHAOS LORD LIONFANG plans to test out his new powers searching for the Darkblood weapon that may be able to defeat Chaos.
The City will feature the Thunderforge Reputation Shop (on Madra herself), A Weapon Shop, An Armor Shop, a Hair Shop, at least one dark alley, a few quests to grind Thunderguard Reputation (more for Members) and, of course, the storyline quests.
Can you find the secret weapon of the Darkblood before Chaos Lord Lionfang rips Falguard apart?
Other Stuff Happening This Week
- We have new treasure chest items coming for all of you who have unlocked been stocking the treasure chests up and Members who have been stockpiling your free Treasure Chest Keys from Twilly
- We have TWO Mod birthday shops coming Friday as well. Captain Stratos, Co-head Moderator and Bug Master General and Vokun, one of our newest volunteer assistant developers!
- The 1 Year Member Golden Set Member Package is going away, to be replaced by the Jade Samurai 1 Year Member Set which is exactly the same as the other package but with a different set.
Stuff Coming In The Future
We're working on some new Membership perks for you guys, in addition to the one that Alina talked about earlier. We are trying to workout a system where Members would simply get MORE ACs. If you buy the 2000 AC package and you're a Member then you would get more than 2000 ACs.
How many more? Still working on making it happen (It may never happen, but we're trying) so we'll saw for sure at that time.
Next week Quibble will be coming back to Battleon and will be bringing a host of all new, slightly used rares from the future (and past in this case). A few of you were asking if Xavier Lionfang's Silver Lion Armor would be released during the Lionfang Saga... well, it is.
Funny story: ORIGINALLY the Lionfang armor art was silver, but went back for a recolor and came out the gold version that we all know. Makes sense that Xavier would get his big brother's hand-me-downs.
Changes to Battleon will start happening soon. Things will start moving, appearing, vanishing, shifting, sliding and expanding.
The Search For New Mods Continues
Reens and Stratos are still looking for a few good players who help expand the Moderator team of AQW.
If you want to know how to apply, READ THIS CAREFULLY. I've had people e-mailing me and even trying to apply on Twitter which just proves that you either
- Didn't bother to read the directions,
- Skimmed them but didn't pay attention, or
- Can't read English well enough to be a Mod.
No matter which way you go, if you can't even apply correctly then you lacking some very necessary qualifications that we need in our Mods.
People have been asking me who "won the Mod contest?". I can't stress enough that this is not a contest to be won, it's a volunteer job to be applied for. It's a pretty serious and necessary position and we have some fairly high standards for what we expect from our Mods.
It's hours and hours of helping, reading thousands of player reports and trying your best to help other players. It's a thankless job but that's OK because we don't pay you anything. We even put restrictions on the items that Mods get. The only rewards are a gold name, the chance to test the releases before they are finished and the chance to help make AQW a better and safer game for everyone.
